What is truly sad is the cat owners who let their cats roam around all over the neighborhood without watching over them. If it's a dog, they're picked up by the pound. But apparently the cats should be able to roam around anywhere they want. Including your garden, your yard, etc.
That is so sad. Somebodies little cat just disappears. Very few cats, have a clue how to react when a true wild predator comes after them. Easy kill for the yote. All the outside cats disappeared around here, long ago from Coyote's.
Coyotes kept killing our pets so one night as I was letting my puppy out to pee, a coyote jumped the wall and grabbed her. I booked it and pounced the fucker broke it's back at the hip. It was in pain so I strangled it since I didn't have a gun. The puppy lost an eye but was ok. last year she died from another attack. So I put out food and waited with my dad's crossbow and killed 3 over two weeks, but they kept coming. And I live in the suburbs, far from the wilderness.
(Although after a closer look it appears that it's not really the scruff of the neck that the coyote has the cat by. And the cat's head is hanging unnaturally low so it probably IS dead)
What I want to know is who's the freaking jackass that's just sitting with a video camera while a coyote runs off with their (or their neighbor's) cat?!!! Geez ! And it's hard to tell if the cats actually dead or not - cat's have a natural reaction to being grabbed by the scruff of their necks like that where they just go slack..... It's similar to turning a shark upside down in water and is a natural physiological response.
@amberism01 There was no point. You see the way the cat is just limp in the coyotes mouth, that means the cat was most likely dead at that point. It was too late.
@nightwind1989 Ok - fair enough - just as long as you weren't just some jerk who stood by and watched a coyote stalk and kill this cat just so you could get a cool youtube video... I can understand if it was too late though. Recently my cat (we're in Prescott, an hour & 1/2 north of Scottsdale) got grabbed by a couple coyotes but survived. My next-door neighbor heard what was going on, ran outside, & screamed at the coyotes & so they dropped him. Guess that's why it's a sensitive subject for me
@amberism01 I also have a cat and there are coyotes and mountain lions in the area not to mention cars so I completely understand where you are coming from.
I know of a old women that was walking her Yorkies & a coyote ran down the hill taking 1 with it. The old women tried to hold the leash but couldn't. It was such a sad day.
@dehbee, well, ignorant people like it better to complain about a hungry coyote, instead of using their brain and just locking the fucking cat inside!
This is what has happened at my house and the neighbor keeps feeding ALL the wild animals. The other night there was a coyote in his drive-way. None of my animals go outside anymore....day or night! That poor cat! Great video for all those people who believe that coyotes do no damage!
@mushmush7 well last week my neighbors cat was eaten by a coyote ,the next 3 days i waited all night the coyote showed up at 3 am,guess what i got the fucker o more threatsssssss!
@solomonpilot767 Glad you got him....we shoot them here also. The hunters took 82 around this area last winter. Coyotes kill sheep, lambs, cattle and attack horses. One of mine was attacked! The only good coyote is a dead one!
@SepherStar Humans did not rip apart my dog. Coyotes kill & maul anything they catch. When the wild act tame & the tame act wild, you have a problem. Rabies comes to mind. Mange is now through the local coyote population & winter will cause alot of suffering. Frankly I don't give a damn.
@mushmush7 Coyotes also killed two of my cats. My issue is not with you killing the coyote, my issue is with your perception of them with respect to your perception of humans.
@SepherStar That sounds like gobbly- gook to me. Perception? If you ate today thank a farmer..we are a small family farm who have had our share of coyote kills. We run the local Farmers Market & hate factory farming. Thing is the factory farms do not suffer coyote kills. Keeping anything natural & in a healthy environment is very difficult.Do not feed wild animals-it ends in their needless death & support small local farmers. We care what you eat!
@SepherSta It's just that it isn't relevant. Of course humans have a far more negative environmental impact than coyotes, we are more widespread, more populated, etc. But what does that have to do with this video or issue? Coyotes aren't just hunting pets because "there aren't enough wild animals to eat" or "we are in their space", it's because they have figured out that it is an "easier kill" and as a result we have to deal with it. They know it is easier to take a baby lamb than a wild hare.
@SepherStar No one is arguing the impact humans have on the environment...that is a no brainer.......what has that got to do with a coyote taking easy prey instead of hunting. My son shot one of the ones that attacked my dog.....the only coyote is a dead one. Trouble is in suburbs you are not allowed to shoot guns& the coyotes have figured that out as well. The hunters chase them with hounds in the country and they run straight into the local town.
@mushmush7 Coyotes, like humans, will take the easiest rout to survival they can. It's not about right and wrong or good and evil. The coyotes is going to act in it's best interest and go for easy prey, and humans are going to act in their best interest and shoot coyotes killing their pets and live stock, or seen in the vicinity. But there is no bad guy in either case.
@SepherStar There is NOTHING EASY about raising livestock the RIGHT way......factory farming is the WRONG way....of course there is a good & bad guy.If we were taking the easy way for survival we would not be raising free-run eggs or chickens. Bad guys factory farm for ONLY their best interest, they do not consider the welfare of the animal. Yes coyotes do what they need to survive but they like raccons have adapted to urban living with humans & it is harder to deal with them in that setting.
@longlivethe80s Well yes and no if you remove people from an area and let all the pet dogs fend for them selfs, many will quickly revert to killing any smaller creatures they can.
wtf is this? I live in AZ. First the cat then the kids? did you see how it jumped the fence? God dam! coyotes are very intelligent creatures. thanks for the footage.
You should warn people that there's a dead animal in this. I didn't know and saw it and it bothered me. And as for the circle of life comment that goes for WILD animals, not wild vs. domesticated pets who don't grow up with insticts to protect themselves like wild ones do. They don't even know their being hunted. DON'T WATCH THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE A DEAD CAT!!
@Funnymom77 you boob. the person let their cat out, they took their chances. they could have left it inside. also, the title of the video is coyote vs cat, wtf did you expect?
@Funnymom77 In that case, what was the cat doing outside? Feeling sympathy for this is purely hypocritical considering that cats kill hundreds of birds in their lives. The events in this video seem nothing more than fitting for those that let their cats outside.
What is truly sad is the cat owners who let their cats roam around all over the neighborhood without watching over them. If it's a dog, they're picked up by the pound. But apparently the cats should be able to roam around anywhere they want. Including your garden, your yard, etc.
