  • Hands down one of the most underrated amps, simply due to the brand name, what a shame.

  • @CampfireHedphaz Sounds better than my Peavey Classic 30, too bad i can't get a hold of one

  • which pickup did you use?

  • @wooki321 Fender Vintage Noiseless, I think everything i played here was on neck pickup.

  • Great Tone!! Could you post the recording equipments you used on this clip..?(audio interface, mics, mixer, mic pre..etc)

15W amp..? The low end is nice ..If you EQ'd when mixing it, could you post the settings, too?

    Thanks.

  • @ssh300 I used a sm57, a Behringer tube ultragain mic 100, Lexicon Lambda interface.

    It's a 15W amp. Drive at 11, treble 12, middle 12, bass at 2, and volume at 10 o clock!

Hope this help, thanks for your comment!

  • @marxho Amazing result with bass knob set at 2.. for a 15W amp!! Beautiful low end without boxy or sound!! Did you use both of the 2 mics simultaneously when recording this clip? Really appreciate your response!!

  • @ssh300 It was only one mic, the SM57. The Behringer Tube Ultra Gain Mic100 is a mic preamp only.

  • Nice!!!

  • I have the same amp and I, for the life of me, cannot get the sound like you do out of it. Nice skills.

  • @thefivefour Try using your fingertip together with the pick and some times fingertip only, use your fingernails in diferent ways like playing 2, 3 or more notes at the same time using a fingertip or fingernail per each string..and you'll be surprised with the variations of sounds you'll get, Also rolling back the tone pot will give you a warmer sound.

  • @marxho hey what are your settings here?

  • @maciverandy I think it was: Drive at 11, treble 12, middle 12, bass at 2, and volume at 10 o clock!

    Sorry for the delay.

  • @thefivefour Quality Amp and guitar are important but, picks, fingerstips, fingernails and the angle and level of attack make the whole sound.

    Thanks for your comment!

  • hey marxho do you thing this amp will get loud enough to rock with drums? i just ordered one from guitar center...

  • you just made me want to quit playing. rock on!

  • totally cool jammin and the video was cool too Keep on rockin!

  • Nice playing buddy. How come I never see that strat-franken-guitar at the house? I just pickup a Rothwell Hellbender - I bet it would sound pretty sweet in front of your V16. -- Sam

  • @UrbanTaboo Hey Sam, sorry for replying late.. I'll bring this guitar next rehearsal for sure!

  • is this loud enough to gig with?

  • How is the clean headroom on this amp?

  • @aschreiber2010 It's got a lot of headrom, I adjusted the gain set higher to get that overdrive sound.

  • Really sweet tone! im considering buying this amp. Comments? also is this amp loud enough for small gigs?

  • @epitaph664 Thanks!

It is loud enough for small gigs, also a mic can help if there is need of more volume.

  • Thanks man, I'll try your setting first. I have the amp in the rehearsal studio, next time in there l'll try it out. It sounds good with other strats and humbucker guitars, but with bright teles and bright strats no good. I'll let you know how it sounds next rehearsal.

    Thanks!

    Russ

  • Nice tone, can you tell me the amp settings. I have the same amp and when I play my strat with ash body maple neck and fender noiseless pups I get to much of a bright sound. I have to turn down my tone knob on the neck pup. On the amp I have the treble on 0 and the bass and middle on 10 still bright. I might have to change some tubes to darken it up?

  • I'm guessing that the gain was at 1 o clock, treble at 11, middle at 12 , bass at 2 , reverb at 11, and level around 10 o clock.

I'm using the speaker stock that came with the amp. I tried it with a Celestion vintage 30 and the sound was horrible, very bright and with no bass. Maybe you need to see for new tubes too. Hope this help!

    Thanks for your comment!

  • Hi, pls which guitar you have?

  • It's a Myghty Mite Ash body with Nitrocellulose lacquer finish, Fender noisless pickups, and a vintage Fender Stratocaster Japan Neck.

  • You built it yourself? If so, is this your first one that you've built.

  • That's right.

  • Hey Im looking in to the v16 because I hear that they are similair to a Marshall feel and vibe, but without the inconvenience of a half stack. Would you say that is an appropriate similarity?

  • The sound is pretty close to a Vintage Marshall amp, It has a real nice warm overdrive.

  • Great tune, dude, did it very well!!!

  • Thanks buddy!

  • Great - GREAT Jimi tribute. Love the tone and your playing is very soulful. Well done!

  • Thanks for your nice comment!

  • I'm totally trying to get this on craigslist for 200 bucks! Thanks for making up my mind sir!

  • Beautiful!

  • do the v16s got effect loop?

  • No, It doesn't.

  • Thanks to everyone for the comments!

  • What were your settings on the amp?

  • I'm guessing that the gain was at 1 o clock, treble and middle at 12 , bass at 2 , reverb at 11, and level around 10 o clock.

  • Killer tone Hendrix and Stevie are listenin to ur soul brotha!

  • great tone. Is that the stock speaker in that amp?

  • Yes, stock speaker.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Love the tone, and great cover. Any effects used?

  • Just the amp no pedals.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • Awesome cover of Little Wing!!Great Crate amp,Nice sound!

  • i think i ll buy the 32 2x12 version... first had an epihone blues custom but the reverb didnt work ...

by the way - great improvisation - like it
