@EA Can you tell Maxis about expansions Packs after Darkspore? please? The Spore Players want the old game back, so with expasnions Packs you can reach it. I mean, a flora editor, the planet editor, the old stages and blood ,for the creature stage, of course. Without blood is the creature stage boring and not very realistic. Personally, I wish that the final spore product had more science in it. Part of the reason that I was so excited about it was that I expected it to be an evolution simulator. I really wish that it forced that player to adapt based on the environment, not just based on what they thought looked cool. I mean, you could completely change how your creature looked in one generation, and there was no real penalty. For me the biggest problem was the stages. They really just restrict the player I feel.
Will knowt that all the time he spendet at dark-spore could to be used to give spore live again... Will got depresif and made a spore 3, whits has naturly power like earth, grafity like earth, everything players wanted and many, many more. even the quality was realistic. he made broken building-effects to, so spore got a gotdamn awesome reallity!! everyone buyd spore and Will was $6528370 richer. it was his best day, MAXIS best day, EA best day, VALVe best day and spore-players best day!

I miss old spore, the one shown in 2006. I looked forward to that for years, what we got, I wouldn't call it bad, its just not what we were looking for.
Maxis and EA have achieved somthing nobody else did: They made a perfect video game. It's fun, and it teaches you stuff, and you DON'T KNOW IT. Or do you? But still, if I was a game critic, I'd give this game the highest achievement!
I like the game and I don't see what all the fuss is about. You can still make cool stuff, and you can see a good part of the evolutionary process. Considering that there are thousands of planets, I think the planet sizes are OK, large enough to be interesting and diverse, but small enough not to overload computers. The Adventure creator in GA is great and playing other peoples adventures is awesome. If you think you could have done it better why not try. Hubris to the max. :|
Evolution does not work in spore... When you come out from an egg EVERYONE in your species has already evolved to be like you, the first time I saw that I thought 'yeah, this game has been broken by EA'.
True, they do, but that was only added to cover up the problem. Implementing actual evolution would be problematic to program. For a game that has evolution as one of it's selling points, I think that 'wait several millions of years and it will happen', with no explanation of the method is a bit misleading.
@Zemnmez In the game we just skip in between periods of time. What is it that you want to see? The DNA slowly mutating over time?Having to evolve generation after generation would be ridiculously tedious.
It really doesn't need an explanation in my opinion, Maxis probably assumed we knew the basics of evolution and didn't feel the need to put up a large explanation. And also, if you were to look at the human evolution, it would seem we "happened" to evolve over millions of years.
I have to admit that I hadn't looked at the time line for most of my game, but anyway I'm just saying that they could at least have some kind of 'evolution montage' to make things clearer. I can't be the only one that misinterpreted that part of the game.
it wasnt the most scientifically accurate game, when it comes to teh little details, but its a damn good game, probably one of my favorites. it definetly made me think about scientific subjects, and made me interested in that stuff, which is what they were goin for I think.

yes it is...... i hope they come out with a spore 2 thats realistic and alot more fun to play over and over again. (like maybe choosing what galaxy you want to play in)

Hello I am not EA of course but if you want aquatic stage there is a spore mod that you can get BUT even without the mod you can play aquatic by making a good swimming creature (legs and arms or skip legs or even skip both arms and legs) and then you can pretty much go and swim in the water and make friends in the water and fight in the water hope this helps with your question because its not exactly needed well hope this helps. XD
... You start of as single cell organisms. Not molecules. Further more look at your size comparison as you progress through the cell stages, you end up being the size of a small fish. You played the aquatic stage already.
.......it is in water, but being a single celled organism does not classify it as a "fish". Cilia and flagella are more ever present in single celled organisms than fish. There are no fins in this stage. True, even though they are single celled, they are way more advanced than in real life, not much of this game makes sense or follows scientific views. e.g. having a developed jaw/proboscis right off the bat

Evolution doesn't exactly work like spore. Spore lets you make pretty dramatic changes to a species where evolution is incremental and small over long periods of time. Also in spore you can find new parts from bones which you just kind of attach to your creature. I understand real evolution would make for a boring game, but don't look at this game and think "yep, that's it alright".

Im trying to get a better understanding of the game mechanics. Do the choices you make in customizing your creature make it stronger or better compared to another of the same level? Are there wrong ways to create a creature? Will some designs fail to evolve or excel over others? There are so many choices to make in designing your creature/vehicle, but I wonder if its just cosmetic or do your choices really mean something. Thanks!

ye,
but i would love spore if they made the planets like 10x more realistic, ie, they make the planet scale much bigger, they make planets have different regions, things like that, like maybe a north and south pole sorta thing, and if that would be way too much for memory and that sorta stuff, then make you confined to only one arm of the galaxy. hey, its all the same anyway. jsut as long as i get to the center of the galaxy.

Hello I am not EA of course but if you want aquatic stage there is a spore mod that you can get BUT even without the mod you can play aquatic by making a good swimming creature (legs and arms or skip legs or even skip both arms and legs) and then you can pretty much go and swim in the water and make friends in the water and fight in the water hope this helps with your question because its not exactly needed well hope this helps. XD

... You start of as single cell organisms. Not molecules. Further more look at your size comparison as you progress through the cell stages, you end up being the size of a small fish. You played the aquatic stage already.

.......it is in water, but being a single celled organism does not classify it as a "fish". Cilia and flagella are more ever present in single celled organisms than fish. There are no fins in this stage. True, even though they are single celled, they are way more advanced than in real life, not much of this game makes sense or follows scientific views. e.g. having a developed jaw/proboscis right off the bat

listen all of u that think ea made spore not have a water stage (were ur creature swims before it has legs) in the demo they showed in 2005 because of the AI movement like they said ur wrong they had 3 YEARS from when thy showed the trailer they could have easaly fixed it but they are just greedy if MAXIS WASNT with EA this game probaly would b a LOT better and not a KIDY game with a million expantions trying to fix the game IF U want to see the original game they made in 2005 its on my channel

Evolution doesn't exactly work like spore. Spore lets you make pretty dramatic changes to a species where evolution is incremental and small over long periods of time. Also in spore you can find new parts from bones which you just kind of attach to your creature. I understand real evolution would make for a boring game, but don't look at this game and think "yep, that's it alright".

Im trying to get a better understanding of the game mechanics. Do the choices you make in customizing your creature make it stronger or better compared to another of the same level? Are there wrong ways to create a creature? Will some designs fail to evolve or excel over others? There are so many choices to make in designing your creature/vehicle, but I wonder if its just cosmetic or do your choices really mean something. Thanks!

I'm not saying there isn't such thing as a god, what I am doing is advising you and all who read this message, not to believe in something that you have no proof in and/or seen. But personally, I do believe in god, but I keep that separate from my scientific life, so in my scientific life god does not exist. By the way, I played this game and it was amazing. I loved the space stage I killed every fucker that came in my way. Especially the grox.

Evolution is, and will always be a controversial topic.
I'm a Christian, and I can enjoy Spore...
I just consider it a very creative, yet totally make-believe concept. In my opinion, evolution is just another fantasy theme, like wizards and magic.
That doesn't mean it's not fun to pretend.
On the other hand, if you're atheist, don't say WE'RE wrong. Because your theory is no better than ours, no matter how science-y you make it sound.
