  • This is a great example of clawhammer style. I would recommend that anyone who plays non-bluegrass banjo to listen to this.

  • FUcking Amazing MEn!

  • ROCK ON BANJO !!!

  • Beautiful playing and a pleasure to listen to.

By the way, if you play guitar, i guess it would be helpful if you want to learn the banjo. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Thanks! Playing guitar is certainly helpful, but not required.

  • @crazyguy581 im learning the banjo to help me play the guitar, i seem to be "better" at the banjo (although im VERY much a beginner) but it has helped me get into the guitar easier,

  • Jim,you are a genius

  • Much talant. Enjoyed it a bunch.

  • Thanks very much for this. Never heard this tune before. Beautiful. You inspired me to pick up my beat-up, dusty old banjo again and play a new (old) tune. I have been playing clawhanmmer for about 16 years. I was gradually able to copy your picking by playing the video over and over again. Tuning: double C. Right? And you fret the 5th string at one point when you go up the neck. I would like to do a tablature transcription of your playing with your permission.

  • thanks Jim....you are amazing

  • have you got any more videos comming up soon jim

  • If you don't mind me asking, what kind of banjo is that?

  • It's a Ramsey Woody.

  • I've been watching your vids on here and they are just beautiful.

  • That is super awesome it takes alot to be able to play that and it sounds really kool and I love banjo sound!

  • Very Awesome!!

When did you started playing the banjo?

Did you teach it for yourself?

  • I started playing 3-Finger style in 1977... got interested in clawhammer 1981. I'm self taught. :)
