Half of me thinks this is hilarious, half of me is really moved by it! My best friend sings this with slightly different lyrics, I see him in a whole other light now.
Mainly this video reminds me of what I like about the British Isles. Don't ask me to quantify that, but I know what I mean...
My band, Yard Of Ale, made this video in June/July this year to promote our recording of Flower in the Snow. It was filmed in Aberdour in Fife and features many of it's worthies. The band play a small cameo part, standing at the bar when the fight breaks out. We got a bit carried away with the story line and I had to write some additional lyrics to fit in with the video. We've recorded the song using the lyric you're familiar with for our next CD.
Thanks for the reply. Shared the vid with my friend yesterday and we both really enjoyed it. He knows all the places. We're doing it as a male-female duet now - both normally work with other acts but doing a few covers for open mics together.
So thanks for making the video, really touching and funny at the same time.
