I watched on a programme, where the hawk wasp paralyses the tarantula, and then lays its lavae in it, and the tarantula is then eaten alive by the lavae, this is so the lavae can eat fresh meat, brutal stuff.

@bigpapaernest yes, for sure... the spider was already poisoned even if at low dose of venom (it can still move and finally try to escape), the wasp inject an initial dose of venom so when the spider is kept safe injects eggs

tarantulas can take down a small snake like no problem...but have trouble with these special tarantual hunting wasps...

What these guys do is they paralyze the Tarantula with a potent sting. They then drag them back to their hideout, paralyzed and then lays it's eggs on it. The Hawk Wasp's eggs then hatch and the larvae feed on the tarantula from the inside. The gross thing is that the larvae eat the organs last to keep the tarantula alive and fresh for as long as possible.

I thought the spider was killing the insect but the insect stung the spider repeatidly over and over near a tarantula hole until it died. The tarantula tried to get away but that thing was adimant about killing it until it died

When their aint shit to do in the field out in MCAGCC 29 Palms (we get bored) and if tarantula hawks, tarantulas and sun spiders are around we snag the buggers and have bug fights. The tarantulas never win against the hawks that I've see. But about a third of the time the sun spiders win against the hawks (sun spider= camel spider but smaller). Tarantulas are too slow to hang with either but a big scorpion can hang with wasps or sun spiders and fuck up a tarantula quick.
