Very cool until you see real flashing red/blue strobes behind you and your dumb ass is pulled over for impersonating a cop. A ticket, court appearance, and possible vehicle impounding are all in order for having such toys on your car, at least here in NY. Don't know about other states, but you try that shit here and you're fucked unless you're an authorized emergency vehicle.

Even in a parking lot with them on, Mississippi police will impound your car and you won't get it back. Recently they ahve been cracking down on illegal mods (by Ms law that is) to cars. Not jsut lights but anything. its funny though, I looked at the laws and some are completely arcaic and very old (you cant cut a hole in your hood if your car didn't offer it as an option).

they are completely legal for off road use such as car shows. i personally use mine when i am doing security because they are legal and instead of the red and blue strobes like the cops, security has green but i can only use it when i am on duty at my post.

its something like, you cant have red lights facing forward, or any blue lights on the car what so ever, you cant have the lights on while driving, but you CAN have amber and violet lights, just dont put them on while following a car because it can get you in a heap of trouble
