  • i came here looking for a nine inch nails track.

  • not to attractive of a girl, sorry to say.

  • a smoking shape shifter- must be a reptilian

  • Whoa!!! Who's the baby doll at 3:50??

  • @HemmHon Someone who is realy ugly.

  • Poor Maggie. ">(

(However, the part in this episode where the bad guy "Mr. Pannell" sees this guy as a "ghost" and puts his beer bottle through the TV screen is pure comedy. The Twilight Zone, come to think of it, had some of its best episodes with "dead gangsters come back to life (in a sense)"...see also the episode "Dead man's shoes".)

GREAT music on this one, especially while he's walking around the town...it sounds as topsy-turvy as this little hustler's life must have been.

  • LOVE the old twilight zone episodes... thanks!

  • George Clayton Johnson For the win!!!!!!!!

  • But Mister Hammer has a talent discovered at an early age. He could make his face change. He could twitch a muscle, and suddenly his entire hairstyle would become totally different.

  • The only problem I have with this episode is he would have had to have known about the lives of these people very intimately.

  • With that unique talent the guy should've got an agent, become and overnight sensation and made millions!

  • 2 people are in the twilight zone

  • So, he can change his voice, too?

  • Artemis Gordon!

  • rush got me into this show hail geddy ,alex and neil

  • Is that Doctor McCoy ?????

  • submitted for your consideration...

  • Thanks for the upload!!! My dad has gotten me hooked on the twilight zone. I love old black and white shows -3

  • 1:27. he's a cheap man, a nickel and dime man. and it show him walking into a bedroom with another man and closing the door.

wow. these days it'd be "he's a 10$ man. a reach around man. a tossing salad man." and it'd show them going into a back alley instead.

  • does anyone know what jazz song is playing in the backround when the girl and johnny are talking it starts when she sits down.

  • I luv this episode definitely one of the most influential in the series

  • i lov twilight zone im 15 and preety popular at school but 4 an old show/ black and white its hella good

  • @MrNatedunkin who doesnt like the twilight zone

  • @MrNatedunkin And what does being popular at school have anything whatsoever to do with it mr. 15 yr old?

  • @MrNatedunkin How did you find it? My parents told me about it. I saw reruns when I wasa kid...even though it was in black in white..yes they are great..gets the mind thinking about possibilities.. I love the twists as well.

  • @jacobk2 i have netflix 4 my wii so i can watch every single episode instantlay

  • @MrNatedunkin I just signed up for Netflix Canada and cannot access the Twilight Zone. How did you find the episodes?

  • @MrNatedunkin NETFLIX doesn't have the twilight zone.If you loved video games like FALLOUT 3 maybee LA NOIRE then you would understand this but you would be considered a hipster. So i don't see how kids 14-17 that are into the mainstream understand how creative and genius this show was whether your 15,18,40,60 this show can entertain and still make you think,-unheard of in today's time (unless a movie rips off an idea from this show).

  • @SMS2RR Netflix must certainly does have the Twilight Zone.

  • @SMS2RR

This is one of my favourite shows, I've seen just about every episode (Almost seen them all) and I adore Rod Serling Science Fiction MASTERMIND!

    I'm 15.

But then again, I've always hated most mainstream stuff, anyway.

  • @GoaGreena

im 16 and i hate mainstream but this was once mainstream and a new movie is coming out with mainstream director Chris Nolan directing.UGH OH!!!

Have u seen the Show CAPRICA? severely underrated ,/

  • Arch Hammer 36 yrs old, he been a salesman, dispatcher, a truck driver, a conman, a bookie & a par-time bartender. This a cheap man, a nickel & dime man. With the cheapness that goes pass the suit & the shirt. A cheapness of mind. A cheapness of taste. A toddly little shine on the seat of his conscience & the dark room squint on the world who its sunlight that its never gotten through to him. Mr. Hammer has a talent discovered at a very early age. This much he does have. He can change his Face!

  • They just don't make men like that anymore. <3

  • Ross Martin is so cute here! *swoon*

  • a man of a thousand faces-old saying

  • Where have I seen this guy before?

  • Comment removed

  • 3.80 a night is good rate

  • He's a brave guy, changing his face to an unfamiliar one while shaving. Ouch!

  • 8:48 how's her breath johnny

  • Her eyes remind me of Fiona Apple for some reason.

  • @generation1313 its her birthmom?

  • @geogodley you're kidding.....google time

  • @generation1313 nothings gonna change my world..

  • @geogodley lmao. too uncanny

  • interesting set design....gives you that "lounge" feel that permeated the 60s with the rat pack.

  • There's lots of TZ part 1's that are really boring. I think a sure fire way to do it is to name someone johnny and have someone say it once every 1.5 seconds.

  • it would be funny if after he says 'He can change his face into anything he wants", he came up as a woman! lol

  • Was every two-bit cad back then named Johnny?

  • @carlsetzer

    Yes.

  • @carlsetzer Yeah, and they all talked fast and hard, see? Yeah.

  • every two-what WHAT?

  • @derwos A bit is an old term for 1/8 of a dollar. A quarter would be two-bits, a rather small amount in money terms. Thus to refer to someone as a "two-bit" something is to mean they're of a cheap value, or no good.

  • @carlsetzer but what's a cad?

  • @derwos It's just a term meaning "jerk".

  • @derwos Rikki0 is right. Specifically, a cad is a man who's a jerk in how he treats women.

  • I always smoke while I shave. What?

  • Rod took Johnson's original short story, "All Of Us Are Dying", and reworked it into his own gritty story. The "Hotel Real" neon sign was originally used in a 1953 MGM movie, "Take the High Ground!".

  • finally

  • oh god you could turn it into a drinking game every time Mag says "Johny!" do a shot.

  • idiot! i meant idiots!

  • idiot!

  • 3:56 - I love torch songs.

  • Hey, Beverly Garland! Nice to see her on something that did not end up as cannon fodder on MST3K.

Oh yes, and "Johnny" is Artemis Gordon from "Wild Wild West."

  • This was written by George Clayton Johnson, and adapted by Rod Serling. Johnson would go on to do several more Twilight Zones, and have quite a career, writing for TV and the movies.

  • If you took a sip of beer every time this broad said the name "Johnny" in this episode, you would be on the floor passed out by the end of Part 1! Man, she loved him, huh?

  • TZ is legendary and Serling is god!

  • In movies they always put an extreme amount of shaving cream on their faces. No one puts that much on it would waste it.

  • Muahahah! I use the movie amount. =)

  • @whitedragonawa INDEED

    NOW

HOW DO MUSTARD MANUFACTURERS MAKE THEIR MONEY

BY THE mustard that ISNT eaten
