I couldn't agree more. I was totally turned off by this book. Haha, I'm glad you mentioned "the tough streets of Santa Cruz," that's a phrase that came to mind several times while reading the book. Don't forget Taos! And come on...the dude is Stephen Levine's son! Towards the end of the book he actually says "Ram Dass was like an uncle to me." WTF? The subtitle should be "How I decided to stop being an ungrateful twat and cash in on Dad's business." "MEDITATE AND DESTORY!!!"...what an asshole.

Even today, bands claim to be anti-establishment, yet they go out and buy really expensive clothes from places that are run by major corporations.
