Why does Elinor suck so bad? Penny is supposed to explode in this song and sing like a soul sister. She just doenst have it, Kerry Butler did Penny the best. Other than that, this cast is the absolute best!

Michael Ball is playing Edna in Hairspray, Roger Allam is Albin in La Cage Aux Follies. I'm never gonna look at Les Miz the same way again! Hairspray is still awesome and michael is defianlty the best Edna ever! (Okay, so I'm biased due to Les miz, aspects of love and phantom but whatever)

I went to see this in London and the cast were fantastic. Ben was not there so was really dissappointed when I found this out, however, his understudy was fabulous and sooo gorgeous. It is a fantastic feel good musical and we were all up dancingby the end of it.

This performance is at the Royal Variety Performance, which was in Liverpool, so they had to travel also. They must have tired!

The guy who plays Link is only 18 years old and casted whilst in his last year of Drama school. He came only FOURTH! in a TV talent contest and the results were correct! He could not sing as well as at least two of the top three. The top three were indeed better than him. (Winner was Lee Mead who went on to play Joseph.) Such is the drama talent we have in UK.

Parts of this act , e. g. taking off policewoman uniform, were cut because of the 'restrictions' of a Royal Variety Performance.

I went to see the show last November,and,boy! the £25 day- ticket I paid was worth every penny! first class performance from the entire cast! Go and see it.I agree that this performance doesnt justify the one youre going to see at Shaftesbury theatre in a normal performance(though this isn't bad at all)

I don't know...I like the Broadway cast better...but, I agree, the Harmony changes are wonderful, and well suited. They have a spicier Tracy, too, which was an interesting interpretation.

Seaweed was jipped, his solo harmony wasn't heard because his mike was off.

It certainly is THE REAL cast! the acoustics were terrible. Reserve judgement until youve seen it for real-have seen american and english version and english version wipes the deck vocally with american version!! Just unfortunate this sounds odd.live they are fantastic

anyone that says they were let down by this performance...you gotta remember theyve already done a performance the smae night and then theyve had to rush over to the RVP in order to perform there, so they dont have a chance to rest or anything before doing such a high energy song twice in the same night. EXCELLENT to me!
