But even this tactic is totally futile, if it is not combined with peaceful resistance and non-cooperation with the opponent. The goal is to out-smart the oppressor, not to foster more violence and retribution. Therein lies the difficulty. Violence should always be a measure of last resort, period, and should never be directed towards innocents.
