My opinion on Pergolesi is that he was an absolutely fantastic master of melody-he just had such a unique sound- but less so of composition.-(His works tend to be rather repetitive) I think that had he lived longer, his work would have matured and he would have became one of the absolute masters of music.

It is incredible, but Pergolesi passed away when he was 26 y. o. Imagine what he could to have composed if he had a long life!
