In this track they remind me of Bush. The band Bush fronted by Gavin Rossdale that is. Actually, very much like Bush. I previously thought all of the music from Isis sounded like Tool but thats not true. I even picked up a bit of what must have been a Creed influence in another track.
@Metaalhoofdje123 did they break up? i thought they just stopped. i would have liked to see them live as well. its a bit of a shame but look at all of this beautiful music we are left with!
I've been a musician for over 18 years, and I've seen complex / technical bands come and go from all around the world. But at the end of the day, the simple, yet uncannily tasteful harmonies produced by this band remain some of the most emotionally crushing melody I've ever heard. These guys are in the same playlist I keep Rachmaninov in.
at 4:11 Jeff stops playing quiet notes at the beginning of each bar and begins playing a section with a delay effect. At 4:39 you can notice a second bass track very quietly begin and get louder. This is the lower bass track that's very noticeable while Jeff still plays the delayed, higher pitch part. Justin C. is also making those loud squeaks on his strings.
After all these years that i've been listening to this band,i still find it difficullt to describe or conceive the magnificence of this song.and it's not even my isis favourite.rip great music...
Words are ment to describe things that have functions to humans. Just because you call it metal, hardcore, post-____, or whatever you may call it, it is called that but it isn't it's true form. So anyways comment all you want, but know if your an Isis fan you came here for the music, not to chat, but nothing wrong with a little expression of how awesome Isis is.
:( Really? I only got to see them once and it was a short little daytime set at a festival. Shame really; although TBH, they had reached their peak. Didn't think much of In the Absense of Truth.
This is probably the weakest link on the album. Not because it's a bad song - I quite like it, but it simply doesn't excite my senses as much of the rest of the album.
Yep,Justin Chancellor of Tool plays some bass here on this song, although i don't know if it's whole song or part, btw beautiful music from great band..
isis are kings of post-fuckface brilliant music. put your mental constructs and conceptual filters aside gentlemen and just listen to the fucking MUSIC!!!
this song is such a great way to end a day

gli ISIS sono una cosa veramente SPECIALE.
peccato si conoscano poco qua in italia. :)

RyoKawakita 2 years ago

posso immaginarlo. :)

and they said tool, apc and isis are the best bands in the world..mastodon and meshuggah too.
and other things about the town where they live ^^
bye!
