We all know that empirically, this prejudice still exists out there. But the only way to achieve change is to work against certain social trends, even if they are dominant, and it's quite right not to put up with that kind of shit.

However, I'm guessing you are referring to some sort of genital surgery because I am a transsexual girl. I should point out that no one get's their penis 'chopped off' - but they may undergo a vaginoplasty, whereby the genital tissues are reshaped into typically female structures.

Male and female is all in the mind. Scientists have proven that if a baby male doesn't receive a testosterone rush to their brain 18 weeks into pregnancy than they keep the female brain. This is true with women but they get too much testosterone so they get the male brain. This is why transgendered feel this way. They are born in the wrong body but they have the brain of a man or woman so they feel the urge to be one. Its natural, nature doesn't always give us a body to match our mind.

I think a lot of men get their perceptions about transexual women from porn and act accordingly. I think if are honest, most men really aren't able to properly date a transexual woman. As for the age issue, I can't completely agree with the "over 35" claim. I'll be 39 next month, and all of my friends don't care who dates who. If I dated a TS or TG, I think only one friend would care. Honestly anyone that has a problem with who I date for *any* reason can go to hell. It's hard enough to find love, let alone care about anything physical. My opinion, along with those of my friends my age & older, is if you find someone you click with initially and then later stay together, good!

Hmm good point. Not sure what to think though. Can't imagine my boyfriend's dad's friends taking it so well had he taken a TS as his partner 25 years ago. But then again I know many guys my age who would make SUCH a big deal out of it.
On the other hand, sexually and romantically I have always found younger guys to be much less accepting of my gender - older guys seem more secure in their sexuality/masculinity and more able to deal with it. With friendships the reverse is true. Go figure.

Male and female is all in the mind. Scientists have proven that if a baby male doesn't receive a testosterone rush to their brain 18 weeks into pregnancy than they keep the female brain. This is true with women but they get too much testosterone so they get the male brain. This is why transgendered feel this way. They are born in the wrong body but they have the brain of a man or woman so they feel the urge to be one. Its natural, nature doesn't always give us a body to match our mind.

I've been in a wonderful relationship with a transgendered woman for longer than a year. I've never had doubts or fears about my sexuality or reputation. I feel like if my friends or the people i know have a problem with the woman I love, I have no need to continue to associate with those ignorant people. I think a lot of men get their perceptions about transexual women from porn and act accordingly. I think if are honest, most men really aren't able to properly date a transexual woman. Especially younger guys who are still very much influenced by their peers. You've done really well to find the right guy for you, and I'm glad you're happy. :)

Your video is excellent proof of why it is sometimes best to befriend some people who you consider becoming more intimate with, whether that person is transgender or not. Your don't really need to be a mind reader anymore because you already know what most people will want, especially with attractive girls like you.

Great video, you made a very very important point, we all as a trans group need to demand respect, as any other female or male would be given. We need to be seen and carry ourselves as equal gendered human beings, not as deficient neurotics, not deserving of basic civil and human rights.

As for the age issue, I can't completely agree with the "over 35" claim. I'll be 39 next month, and all of my friends don't care who dates who. If I dated a TS or TG, I think only one friend would care. Honestly anyone that has a problem with who I date for *any* reason can go to hell. It's hard enough to find love, let alone care about anything physical. My opinion, along with those of my friends my age & older, is if you find someone you click with initially and then later stay together, good!

Hmm good point. Not sure what to think though. Can't imagine my boyfriend's dad's friends taking it so well had he taken a TS as his partner 25 years ago. But then again I know many guys my age who would make SUCH a big deal out of it.
On the other hand, sexually and romantically I have always found younger guys to be much less accepting of my gender - older guys seem more secure in their sexuality/masculinity and more able to deal with it. With friendships the reverse is true. Go figure.

Ehhhh, never bothers me. The whole idea of sexual orientation, like John Barrowman once said, is "quaint". I just go for whomever catches my eye.
Though, I must admit, pretty much every transgirl I know has treated me MUCH more better than any genetic woman has.
The 40+ fellow I mentioned....he's like a 9 year old on a grown man's body. :P He refers to transgirls as "he's" or worse, "its". Pity I could not reach into my screen here and pimp slap him some sence. :P

Totally agree with you . I'm pre op and was living as a gay man , and I would say the same , older guys are much more secure . I think what your talking about in this video is a big issue for all trans people , gay or straight.

I'm pleased you've found a decent guy there are some good ones out there. I've been transitioning hmm... well it's been a slow slide into femaleness for the past decade really, but I got rid of all my boys clothes about 3 and a half years ago now. Have been on hormones for 6 months now, no surgery at all, yet. You look great too couldn't follow the link to your photo's but would love to see them. My boyfriend thinks you're quite cool btw :)
