  • I wish i was this tall and had amazing ears to not hear the crowd at every concert...

  • I think I just orgasmed. CS sticking his tongue out [2:53] only amplifies that vocal range fuck-me-ness.

  • Michael Todd, the 30-year-old bassist for New York-based progressive rock band Coheed & Cambria, spent last night in the Attleboro police lockup after he was pinched just hours before his band was set to open for Soundgarden at the Comcast Center in Mansfield. He was held on $25,000 bail today.

No one from the band or the band’s label was in court today.

Todd, who was replaced by a guitar tech during last night’s show, is due back in the Attleboro court Aug. 9.

  • Clauds guitar wasnt loud enough..sad

  • Claudio doesn't actually have a high voice, he just has incredible range and can sing in almost any pitch. If you guys have heard him speak, you'll know his voice isn't as high as he makes it.

  • "to the end, where you burn"

woo love when hes does that shit

  • love coheed forever!

  • these guys should be all over the air waves

  • there are 5 bieber fans here >:) lolxd :)

  • Maynard may have great range. But Claudio has great range and great hair. <3

  • This is brilliant!

  • this video makes me love them even more

  • say what you want about Coheed and Cambria, at least Claudio sounds the same in person as he does on the album. Not many bands can boast the same thing...

  • I want this song played at my funeral

  • Reasonably new Coheed fan here. I thought Matt Bellamy and Maynard James Keenan had the most beautiful voices I had ever heard. Well, Claudio trumps them both, easily. So thankful I found this band.

  • @krwetton I don't know about him being a better vocalist than Maynard. Maynard is a god in his range..

  • @Dandrick815 Something I like about Claudio more than Maynard is that in every live performance I've seen of them on YouTube (I haven't seen them live yet myself, but I've watched a ton of their live stuff on youtube), I've never heard him sing badly or not put some soul and effort into it.

Maynard on the other hand, in some songs, rarely sings the same or with as much effort as the studio album version songs. Though, granted, the type of vocals in some of the songs he's singing are

  • @Dandrick815 more stressful on the throat than some of Claudio's stuff. And I don't doubt that Maynard does give effort or that he cares about the quality of his live performance. But I do find that Claudio has a wider range than Maynard and perhaps has more natural ability.

These are my opinions and definitely are not expert ones.

  • these guys will never be big. it sucks but its true. you know van gogh only sold 1 painting in his life. kinda makes you think hu!!!

  • this is beautiful. oh my god. i love the sweeps/rakes that travis does in the chorus. eargasmic.

  • all the notes that arent in the normal musical alphabet !

  • Does anybody know exactly what notes Claudio is capable of singing?

  • Anyone know where i can download this mp3?

  • @brettheginger yeah go to FYE buy In Keeping Secrets of Slient Eath: 3 and this song is the 6th track.. then you put your new cd into your computer, bring up Itunes or Windows Media Player, then you click the Rip CD option, then it will be in your music library, then you plug your MP3 player, or Ipod, into your computer, and then you drag the songs you want onto it.

  • I miss Travis' long hair

  • pos to plenis olo afto do mali?

  • i love this song...claudio has an amazing voice.

  • @rookitchen shut up dude. Once you can write a song like this and become famous, then you can bag on coheed all you want. You're pathetic. How about you look deeper into coheed and actually discover more songs. Or shabutie. You probably don't know shabutie though. Look up the prize fighter inferno. You clearly aren't a true coca fan till you've heard every song written by claudio sanchez. Listen to everything evil and listen close to the little 16th notes and all of the little details. Coheed a

  • @mxfreak617 god send conspirator or everything evil are my favorites

  • besides welcome home can anyone recommend some more good songs by these guys?

  • @mxfreak613 everything. No joke. Claudio is a musical genius.

  • @mxfreak613 EVERYTHING. like manny1013eg said...its not a joke he is a musical GOD

  • @mxfreak613 The Suffering, Pearl of the Stars, Time Consumer, A Favor House Atlantic, just a couple.

  • @jonpinkerton delirium trigger, cuts in the march of man, everything evil, no world for tomorrow, the bonus track on keeping secrets and of course in keeping secrets of the silent earth.. just a couple more ;)

  • Coheed gave me the brand new musical look i was looking for since ages, given the crappy canned music we are spoonfeed with today. The structure of the songs is amazing, lirycs are pure poetry, the bass fills are very well worked, claudios voice reach the sky and they carry an incendiary live show. What else could you ask for? :) I really think they are very talented people.

  • @rookitchen Because he is. Musically, this song is and was supposed to be simple. He shifts betweens an An E major, an E Octave, and an A octave in this performance. This song isn't supposed to be technically amazing, and those two carry the melody of the song nicely. Travis's accompaniment is supposed to change the tonality of the current measure.

The magical saying of "Beauty in Simplicity" is hard at work here my friend :)

  • @rookitchen You should probably just stop now dude. You obviously don't even know who these fucking guys are, and Travis and Claudio play guitar better than you EVER will, so spare me.

  • @rookitchen GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE! WHO AGREES!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @rookitchen uhh the reason why people cant hear travis' guitar is because he uses a talk box on his guitar meaning all the sound goes into a little tube that they hook up to the microphone which is already low because claudios is the main mic. listen to how well written the instruments are. i listen to many different bands and no one comes close to co & ca's guitars..thats all im going to say because you arent going to care either way if you dont notice the amazing skill that is coheed.

  • @Nightmare356 No, he is not using a talk-box in this.. the reason his guitar isn't that loud is simply because he is only accenting Claudio, and I suppose they like the balance better.

  • @Gangstraphacus i meant live and electric he uses a talk box which makes the sound muffled a lot

  • @rookitchen Do you play guitar? Because I'm not hearing the same chord over and over.

  • Comment removed

  • @rookitchen Save your sarcasm for people who care and stop trying to be a cyber bully.

  • coheed should have a 3 song guarantee. 3 songs and you're hooked =) it was that way for me. first 3 i heard- Welcome Home(of course), Ten Speed(of gods blood and burial), and Mother superior.

in my top 3 bands for sure

  • I effin love it everytime he sings the chorus part "..is in the question that you state" dang!

  • I love coheed and cambria muppet voice and all!

  • If having a high voice is a bad thing then that makes Robert Plant bad. Just saying.

  • @Josabeech robert plant is bad. lol

  • @Josabeech Or all the classical countertenor singer. :D

  • @Josabeech That's a great point. But the sad thing is most of the generation now-a-days don't know who Plant is. It's such a shame the steps modern society has taken musically. Too few are there good musicians.

  • if you guys listened to Rush, you would appreciate Claudios voice a lot more instead of questioning it

  • @marcellius1178 i second that.

  • claudio sanchez is da man

  • @romerovan21, he definately sounds like a man. idk where you're getting girl from, but if he does sound remotely like a girl, which he doesnt, he must sound like a very butch dyke.

  • awesome !

  • ahh so good i love this song and the band!

  • Simply Amazing!

  • no wonder he wears glasses cause his hairs always in front of his face so wen he moves it his eyes are so under used that he needs glasses

<33 luv this bandd great stuff

  • It's 21:13. Perfect time for some Coheed!

  • @reillyswilloughby I see whatcha did thar'

  • he signs like a girl! but is great

  • These dues are masters of musical composition. Listen to that lead guitar!!!!

  • awsome song , but his hair would bother the fuck out of me >:O

  • "when the answer that you want is in the question that you state, come what may" jesus. most beautiful lyric i may have ever heard

  • @logarock - Do you have any idea at all what this song is about? If I was the character in Claudio's story, I'd feel quite a bit of self-pity too.

  • Say that while Claudio's making you his bitch :]

  • Bottom Line:

These guys are awesome! Claudio is amazing. Period. No Debate.

  • when i first hear coheed i described claudio as a pissed britney spears sounding singer......i am now ashamed of that comment.i now love coheed and think caudio's voice only compliments the awsome guitar and drums that makes coheed and cambria :D

  • Welcome to the dark side my friend

  • @nocturnalsoup Hey now, you left out the bass. Mic Todd is an excellent bassist :D

  • SO GOOD. AAAAAAAAAARGH.

  • It's true his voice is kinda high. that doesn't mean its a bad thing. He is an acquired taste. When i first started listening to them I didn't like them very much. As i listened to the more I was able to appreciate the musical genius that is Claudio Sanchez

  • @Anno2113 I completely agree...

  • @Anno2113 Dude its not even acquired taste. He's got such a range for signing which is huge

  • @Anno2113 exactly the same thing here.

  • Im tired of hearing people talk about Claudio's voice, first time i heard Coheed I didnt even think Claudio's voice was high, just unique, and thats what makes him one of the best singers, ever.

  • @MyGoodApollo

Just because you "didnt even think Claudio's voice was high" doesn't mean it isn't. It is most definitely a higher pitch than the norm.

Does this detract from the fact that he is made of pure awesome? Not at all.

Should all those close minded peckers crawl back into their caves and die? Definitely.

    Higher pitched than normal? Yes.

Baddest Motherfucker to ever live? Without a doubt.

  • @quik720 Amen my brother. Words well spoken.

Claudio will die just like Freddie Mercury: Because of Awesomeness.

    Long live Claudio!

  • Huh. I thought that he died of bronchopneumonia induced by AIDS on 24 November 1991, only one day after publicly acknowledging he had the disease.

OK, I looked it up on Wikipedia. XD

  • @EvanCo93 He didn't die of Bronchopneumonia, clearly Wikipedia says he died by awesomeness :D

  • Oh right, I must have misread it. ^_^

  • @perry475

    ...Freddy Mercury died of AIDS.

  • @MattAttack1221 God I WAS JOKING. Do you honestly believe that I think he died of awesomeness?

It was a joke dude. Quit taking it so serious.

  • Welcome home isnt just there only song they sing... Keep looking at other videos all the other songs they sing good if not as good as Welcome home. But This band happens to be my favorite!

    Love these guys!

  • so at 2:50.. when claudio isn't singin the word "this" i sitl hear it. I think he actually got his guitar to sing for him there.

  • among the best groups ever....and also among the best guitar players...maybe at the Santana level...i love how he manipulates his voice...awesome!

  • haha..claudio's voice was fucking amazing!!haha...^_^

  • Claudio voice is amazing!!!!

    Both are great guitarrist

    GREAT!!!!

  • 'What did I do to deserve?'

I love every Coheed songs, but that's one of the stand out moments. And there are a good few of those too.

  • I like how The Willing Well 3 ends with that line and this whole song here runs on it.

  • you do understand that all the songs play and build on each other right? they are based off the comic that claudio writes called the armory wars :) check em out if you never have

  • Exactly my point. I was just saying I like how they executed it.

  • It's amory wars.

Based off of amory st. where he used to live i thought?

    Or somthing like that

  • oh wow he does the same thing he did in the live version at the starlight ballroom at around 4:27 AMAZING

  • man this song....it just makes me jizz all over the place!!!

  • I love how he can rock while sitting down.

  • i think he sounds better when hes playin acoustic

  • Travis' verse riff is so effing catchy.

  • yes....very much

  • two of the better guitarists out there...hands down

  • is it caused me scarring if the words stay true?

  • mm hmm, i'll have to agree with you there

  • God damn.

  • dont gotta love the band to love the performers so yea i agree =)

  • The guitar work is definitely better here than the studio version. Or maybe just, i dunno, more harmonious.

  • Agreed, the live acoustics just sound more harmonious and mellow compared to the studio version. Prefer this, in fact

  • Boy, I really love this. So awesome, singing and guitar playing. Wonderful song.

  • it's not that he has a great range, cos you can see he can't go too deep, in what would be considered the norm for a male vocalist, but his high pitch is just so friggin' awesome and unique!

  • About his voice being so high, I wonder what kind of range Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin has.. I recall their debut, and no frontman in a rock band before had had a voice like that without singing in falsetto.

  • ...that man is strictly incredible. HIGH G. MALE...LIKE WTF?!?!?!

King plant could scoot all around different octaves, it is quite amazing to listen to.

But yeah, back to the man at hand, I'm completely diggin' the pitch. It's just great to listen to at any time of the day, and the epicness of the music...wow.

  • Well sir, I didn't know your pubes grew on your head. But thats not the case with anyone else here.

  • Too much of my cawk in your mouth. Stop choking, you're dripping drool all over the comment box.

  • Um no shit. It's a reply to that guitar man shit. "Too much pubic hair"

  • Oh...sorry man, youtube's comment reply system is complete shit :D

  • Yea i know, It's cool :D

  • wow, killer performance

  • his voice sounds really good in this one, and the guitaring is just sweet =] this song brings back memories XD damn

  • I want a tab to travis's part during this song, he plays it differently. it sounds alot better.

  • he looks like mankind from wwe lolz

  • Hahaha, never seen that before.

  • Love that accent when he says "What did I" near the end

  • Claudio with glasses scares me :O

His voice is fits so well with acoustic versions

  • Agreed

  • all hail the down-fro!!! awesome song as well.

  • His voice is simply AMAZING.

both claudio and travis are amazing guitarists.

I don't know why they bash on his voice,

while the singer for Rush sounds like a woman.

First impression when I first heard rush.

  • people arent used to unorthodox singing.. Robert Plant was also criticized for having an unusually high pitch voice..

same with The singer from Rush.

Claudio is very talented, and without him I don't think Coheed would be as successful. People love unorthodox sometimes.

  • GEDDY LEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! geez do only ppl in canada know his name, rush one of the best fucken bands ever

  • Give Rush some respect. His name is Geddy Lee.

  • Geddy Lee doesn't sound like a woman.

  • fuck every one who critics claudio hes from PR bitches ps he has a great voice

  • Fans like you give Coheed a bad name.

What does him being Puerto Rican have to do with people judging him as a vocalist?

    P.s.,

    It's spelled "Critique".

  • God, I can't stand looking at this comment. You're such an idiot. Why do you have t ruin everything for real Coheed fans?

  • see normally i would say that youre a jerk, but youre completely right, thank your for what you said to that guy

  • You guys are all kinda queer...just listen to the music, shit.

  • wahh wahhh wahhh >_> "real coheed fans" who are we twilight fan girls? dude..chill..

  • this is..... AMAZING!

  • Long live Coheed. <3

  • I LOVE THIS BAND

    MY GOD

    they are too incredible

    ...TOO incredible

  • .genius.

  • Look for instrumental versions of Welcome Home here on Youtube, then when you find one, read the comments. The pretty much consist of "His queer voice ruins this godly guitar piece"

While both Claudio and Travis are great modern guitarists, it just how how childish people are about music. Claudio has an awesome voice, while at the same time, they will never be more popular than they are now because of this.

  • Can anyone tell which chords claudio is playing. That would be awesome if you can.

  • Take the powerchords from the song... Add the third finger on higher fret (7th - 9th -9th // for example).

Hit them like open chords with E muted, and B and E open.

Transfer E and A string rooted chords to A and D string ( five frets lower).

    Apply new stumming pattern.

    Tada.

  • hell yeah!!! >:O

  • the lead singer is amzing but people are not commenting on the guitarist he is unreal! travis stever is his name? i believe

    but yeah incredible band

  • Claudio was so dead on at this show it makes me jealous....how are musicians supposed to make it today with artists like claudio out there....ugh no one can be as good as him....long live sanchez!

  • haha he looks like anderson varejao of the cavs :))

  • they are sponsored by taylor guitars?

  • well they more represent taylor guitars.

  • uhh why is no one singing along?! how can they not?!

  • I'm honestly glad no one is singing along. That ruins live recordings for me.

  • its because this song wasnt released at that time. the album came out a few weeks later.

  • No, because at the same performance, he plays Mother Superior, too. This is only like a year and a half ago.

  • i think its safe to say that claudio is the most underrated talent in the world right now. music, writing, he is a true artist. its such a shame that when ever i ask someone if they listen to coheed and cambria, 90% of them never heard of em

  • Or when people think welcome home is their only good song and the rest are "shit".

    serious talent here people

  • @XpcrewX Haha I agree. Welcome Home is my least favorite song by them. It has what three chords and a guitar solo. Welcome Home isn't a bad song, it's just boring compared to all their other songs.

  • @XpcrewX i know im gunna get a bunch of shit for saying this but i kind of agree... lol. i havent really listened to many others though.. i dont know any other good ones! so if you guys could please recommend some songs for me by these guys that would be great :D

  • @zeester0101 some good ones that i like are "Gravemakers & gunslingers" "the running free" "ten speed (of gods blood and burial)" "mother superior" "no world for tomorrow" ....actually i would listen to the entire no world for tomorrow album (my personal favorite)

*the year of the black rainbow* is a bit of a different sounding album, but its still pretty good. but give it all a listen, Coheed & Cambria is an insanely good band, once you get used to claudio's voice that is lol

  • @XpcrewX I try to convince my friends on a daily basis that welcome home is not their only good song. It isn't even their best song imo. light and the glass ftw
