Most evolutionists are Emperor's-New-Clothes commoners.who just want to be part of the group that calls itself wise. Its their way of feeling important. Men will typically get this feeling of importance through having a family and lovingly caring for it. Or perhaps dedicating their life to God. Others dedicate their life to their work or perhaps scholarship. These have done none of these because these all require sacrifice and work. Evolution and sin are the abode of the bum. A waste of a life
Why do you insist on having the last word? You basically chickened out on our conversation, and then you said to redword2007 that you "will leave him to himself for a while", which are suggesting that you are running out of stuff to say and are trying to bow out.
And now you are trying to portray yourself as a "good" person? Give me a break. Judging from your comments, you are a smug, arrogant, childish prick with an inflated sense of superiority.
And none of those things you mentioned makes you a "good" person. One of the main things about being a good person is trying not be a dick. And one of the main things about not being a dick, is trying to respect other people and their opinions, even if you don't necessarily like them. But if they are being dicks towards you, then it's fair game, and you are justified in being a dick to them.
The structure and function of the single cell does not at all align with evolution. Evolution also does not align with the 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics. There is not one shred of evidence that evolution has occurred. Any evidence for evolution is merely conjecture or imagination. You even see there examples of transitional forms of life are only artists renditions. Why even their fossil evidence are pieces of artwork. See the story "The Emperor's New Clothes" They are living a lie
Edgar Allan Poe tried to warn us of this "devolution" in his story "The Fall of the House of Usher" but no one listened. Perhaps this DEVO comeback will help!
Something just struck me, now I know this is nothing new but I think often we put the cart before the horse in this choice of worldview and its affect on us. Usually when we see a person who has chosen to believe in evolution we think that their life is then changed for the worse and sin enters in because now they think they can make their own rules. But I think often it is the other way around a person 1st gives into sin and then chooses a worldview to fit their lifestyle. Evidence is ignored.
People don't "choose" to "believe in evolution." Evolution has been established as fact by scientific evidence.
I welcome the fact that so may believers in the supernatural refuse to accept the evidence, because ultimately their refusal will ensure that their reactionary ideas will wither and die.
@redword2007See, you yourself have fallen into a very simple trap. There are only 2 worldviews. You have chosen the wrong one but you consider yourself to be wise because you believe the government line. You actually toe the government line. All evolutionists are simply government patsies.
"The" government? Is this an example of the insularity that it typical of so many Americans? I certainly don't agree with the US Government (I'm not an American, but I assume that is the government that you refer to) as I consider it a ruthless and bloodthirsty regime. The evidence for evolution comes from academia, not from the public sector.
Only "2 (sic) worldviews."? A first year undergraduate would be astonished at your ignorance. Do you even know what a worldview is?
@redword2007 You don't understand that the government decides what is taught in schools. That is because you yourself are an indoctrinated evolutard. Hitler said. "Let me control the schools and I will control the world". Evolution is not scientific at all. It is a philosophy that has as its goal the exclusion of God. The only evolution that is scientific is micro-evolution sometimes called variation. Evolution has become a multi-billion dollar cottage industry, a gravy train if you will.
@redword2007 Actually I am a reformed evolutionist. Hey, here is an idea. There should be an institution call E.A. ... evolutionists anonymous to help people recover from government brainwashing received from public schooling.
This will come as a shock to you, but there is a vast world outside of the US. Not everyone watches Fox TV. Your government doesn't determine the curriculum for the world's school children. I know, hard to believe isn't it.
@redword2007 Don't you know that Satan controls the governments of the world? They all teach evolution. Are you telling me that evolution and an Earth that is older than about 6000 years is not taught in the schools of your country? What did they teach you? How old do you say the Earth is? And do you believe in evolution? If so, you are just an indoctrinated evolutard.
@EyeoftheU Why would I? There is no evidence for macro-evolution. And it cannot be proven scientifically. The only evidence ever offered are models of "transitional" fossils, or fraudulent transitional fossils. Or animals with like taxonomy having similar DNA. Then evolutionists take taxonomic charts and arrange them in a way to show that evolution occurred. What a joke. And what is worse is that some people are fooled by this!
Supporting microevolution, but not macroevolution, is like saying that it is perfectly possible to use one domino brick to trip over another, but then throwing a fit and screaming that it is impossible to trip over an entire line of domino bricks in the same way.
In your list of evidence you forgot the living examples of natural selection in birds and insects. Oh and the timeclocks of trees and radioactive dating that calibrate a timescale for evolution. Then there's the the fossil record and the traces of our earliest ancestors. And not forgetting the confirmation from molecular biology and genetics and much more . . .
@redword2007 Living examples of selection?! You are running right back to micro-evolution again. You just don't get it, do you? Those other things that you mentioned are easily countered. If you want websites I will get them for you. Google RATE for the dating techniques. Also, you should read Dr. Robert Gentry's book and papers. I will leave you to yourself for a while. Perhaps you can star if a future DEVO video as a typical evolutard.
Most species that live in competition with others are 'living examples' as they are continuing to evolve. The oberved examples of species divergence are well documented, but what is the point of confronting you with evidence? You are a religious fundamentalist who believes that "satan controls the governments of the world."
This kind of supernatural claptrap probably seems normal to someone as insular as you, but to the vast majority of people you are either a joke, not to be taken seriously, or the north American equivalent of the Taliban.
Hes right.. I understood the fact of devolution before i heard devo mention it.. Man is actually going back to ape, and not proceeding forward, been like that seens a couple of hundred years.
@MoffeAnimal No, man is moving away from God, hense the lack of meaning in life and he just wants material things. There is no evolution, so there is no de-evolution, only an increase in knowledge and man wants to believe he is the supreme being, how's that working out?
As a species we are living longer; we are also healthier, wealthier and better educated. That doesn't mean that there aren't serious challenges, but overall the trend in human development is one of improvement.
Belief in god is based on faith. Faith is an unreliable route to truth. Only science, depending as it does on evidence, reveals truth.
@redword2007 There is more cancer now more than ever, I know of people dying young and when they do pull through it's because they can milk more money out of them keeping them alive. The GMO foods, the chemicals in our food are all taking their toll. Radiation from every source. Look at the military and medical industrial complexes. Science has brought us as much trouble as it has good because man uses it for evil. Man has gained knowledge, not evolved. You trust man, I'll trust my God.
Of course there are medical challenges - many of them arising from the fact that we are living longer - but we are meeting them and overall the facts are that we are healthier and we enjoy longer lives.
Of course science disproves itself all the time. Scepticism and doubt are integral parts of the scientific method. With each piece of new evidence we get closer to truth; but few questions are answered once and for all. That's what makes it superior to knowledge based on faith.
@redword2007 And something isn't true because science says so, it's always being disputed and science disproves itself all the time . Hey, I'll admit when I'm wrong. You believe in your science and trust man and I'll believe in my God and trust his word.
I am motivated in life by love and compassion for other human beings. When people place love of their deity above their love for other human beings, they become capable of the most extraordinary evil, as history tells illustrates.
For people that bitch about hippies they must know nothing about hippies.....Just the propaganda the corporate/government media tells you to think. We just wanted to do things our way and not the established way....Some of it was good and some of it was not....So bitching about hippies is just buying into the stereotype the media wants you to buy into.....You are becoming the sheeple you purport to dislike.
I cannot even believe some idiots are placing political ads on you tube. The political machine is legal representation for the most opulent fraction ONLY! - By now everyone should know this! WE SEE THE DAWNING OF TECHNOLOGY BEING INTERNET WHEREBY EVERY HUMAN BEING ON THE PLANET MUST BECOME AN AUTONOMOUS AND INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF GOVERNMENT!!! The organizing of vast decentralized government by the people is abhorrent only to the 1% controlling faction.
Like all of their disgusting generation, these fat geriatric faggots need to just fucking die so that the world can move on to a better future. Listen to this confused old dimwit talking about a present world that he doesn't understand, what a coffin-dodger. "Back in my day we HURR and we DURR, oh I need a fresh adult diaper. Who are you? Where am I?"
@RachelCorriesGhost so you have the world by the balls? and i'm supposed to believe u? nope. the intellingent world need posers as sort a of cannon fodder or lab mouse...thank u for unwittingly volunteering.
@RachelCorriesGhost Alas. They…like me…are Baby Boomers. We unleashed the Full Of Ourselves curse on the world. Every generation before ours labored for the betterment of those coming after. The Greatest Gereration rode out the Great Depression and WW2. Then came Vietnam. We got on our High Horse. And you feel about us was we felt about the Greatest Generation. And those after you will feel about you what you feel about the Devo gen.
As a Gen X'er I only wish more BBoomers had the insight about themselves you do. Then we wouldn't be left with the mess your generation created- and even worse- taught in the colleges in the 80's-00's. Only now are those under 25 starting to question it all and thinking just possibly what they've been indoctrinated with could be wrong. Devolution just might be at the bottom.
@LHZZ12MM Yeah. People are people. If we’re lucky we don’t mess up the world any more than we have to. Maybe we even fix a few problems…and hopefully not be too complicit in the crimes of our era. It can be a hard gig.
@wrybreadspread You are an illiterate moron who seems to think that pea-brained hippie shit is "heavy shit, maaaaaan". The average children's cartoon from the 90's on is vastly more profound than anything that has ever passed through the worthless brains of your disgusting generation.
In short, please kill yourself and do all existence a favor.
I’m puzzled. I’m agreeing with you that their tine is past. There’s an old saying that people who praise themselves have a small fan base. Or something like that. I respect older performers who are still out there practicing their craft for the sheer love long after the spotlight, money, and groupies have migrated on to newer stuff.
I’m agreeing with you that the Love Generation was pretty much stoned out. I myself have been clean and sober all my life
Now…if your problem is simply with people who happen to have racked up a bunch of decades, I can’t do anything about that. Time goes by. People age. It happens.
Or is it my admonition you have trouble with. Listen to the Wake Up Call. You also will reach my age. I might still be around to ask you how you’re digging it…unless you plan to exit life before that. And personally, I think it’s a tragedy for anyone to not live out their appointed years. Google John Donne’s No Man Is An Island.
@wrybreadspread Your comments are wandering and lack precision, thus I seem to have misinterpreted your intentions. For this, I apologize. I would also like to retract my insults and any trolling that I directed towards you, and I apologize for such comments.
However, I refuse to listen to any dopey hippy shit from your generation. To counter such dated crappiness, I would suggest that you listen to "Mindless Self Indulgence". "Mark David Chapman" is a great place to start.
@RachelCorriesGhost Apology accepted. It’s cool. Anything I listen to from the 1960’s is strictly for nostalgia. I’ve been into classical since forever. Beethoven, etc. & 1940’s; Bing Crosby, etc. & big movie scores, like by Miklos Rozsa & John Williams. & from flicks like Lord Of The Rings. My current favorite is Chevaliers de Sangreal from the Da Vinci Code. Listened to Mindless Self Indulgence; it’s a little nerve-jangling for me. To each their own. Vaya con Dios.
I too think Devo is one the bestest bands ever, but is also shoocked when they supports Obama, because Obama is bad news for America, i think Devo even regretted supporting Obama. I just dont get why they don't get behind our fascistests corporo overlards and conforms to what TV tells them like I does.

"The house band on the Titanic" what a line....Mark Mothersbaugh and Gerald Casale did try to "Shout" at the world...but nobody listened. I've been a fan since 1980 when I heard "Whip It". The video from "Satisfaction" was so robotic....there's never been a band like DEVO. Like Bob Seger sang "I'm not a number...feel like a number." I really identified with them. It reminds me of my college days...I remember the album with the 45rpm inside it "Working on a Coalmine"we played the heck out of it.
I think Devo is one the best bands ever, but i was shocked when they support Obama, because Obama is bad news for America, i think Devo even regretted supporting Obama, yes i think Obama is much worse than Bush!
@jasondixon360 I agree. Many Obama supporters that got caught up in that whole "hope and change" crap never realized that it meant that Obama was just going to take the worst of Bush and amplify it by a 1,000 times.
This Marxist/Socialist track our nation is on is more destruction rather than de-evolution. Wave bye bye to freedom and say hello to the new slave masters.
@HoldingOnToLiberty Like the other guy said, show us the proof. O hasn't done anything socialist or whatever you fools like to criticize him for. You have no clue. You are a perfect tool for the corporate oligarchy. Mark my words you will wake up one day and wonder how you got totally screwed by the neocons. You have been warned.
@WWRHorn1 Dude. Read a newspaper then read about Marxism. Pull your head out of the sand. O has taken over GM & Chrysler, most of the banks, most of the home mortgages, healthcare and student loans. He wants to control the energy industry. O has no clue how to get us out of this recession. He still to this day blames Bush after making the Bush recession worse.
I agree with ms. geek about previous idiocrasy and teabaggers but should politics really be replies to a video about musics 'advance'? rules of conversation: don't speak of religion or politics, people can't handle different opinions on such things....also, i rather like mp3s instead oldschool walkmen
@iseeyourstrings Right. You have to relearn some things but there are big advantages to technology. My ipod Nano has 300 albums on it and is pretty tiny. My keychain is an 8 gig zip drive. I have a portable zip drive for different computers thats abuot 250 gigs, running off a USB cable, so I can move things between computers easily. For a techno band to complain about technology is a little weird. Granted, phones are getting our of control. Cameras are getting out of control. But thats life.
How well do you cope with major changes in your favorite computer app or PC operating every two or three years with the previous one junked and progressively unsupported?
Do you really ever throughly learn to use any of them in that time window?
People who resist changing apps and operatings systems often throughly learn to use them and can run rings, in performance, around the people who but every new version on the manufacturer's time table.
@njnorth1 That's called evolution. Systems evolve. People that thrive are those that can adapt to change. I still like reel to reels and LPs but times change and I've adapted to CDs instead of records, digital 16 tracks over reel to reel recorders. Operating systems evolve too. Who is ignorant enough to think they can continue to do the same things the same way forever in an information age?
Not all evolution is necessarily progress, sometimes just planned obsolescence, like operating systems. Microsoft makes money selling new operating systems, ergo they change as often as they revise them and get them on the market
Never said one doesn't need to progress to new things and procedures but if the pace of change exceeds people's ability to truly master each step, it's not really progress.
Look, maybe they didn't save the world but they contribute by continuing to perform music, including new stuff, like Simple Minds and others. That is what we need in the world. Please come back to Australia soon.
Mark and Jerry, don't despair, your influence is definitely out there. The Franz Ferdinands are a joke. there are hundreds of thousands of great bands like you guys on the dvd at your first show, playing amazing music while 6 bored people yawn and check their watches in the audience
Back checked on myself and found Mark is co-writer of most songs with Gerry on "Something For Everyone". Windows Media Player doesn't readily show the second writers name unless you highligh Composer's box.
I am glad to see people philosophizing over the validity of the existence of good rich and evil rich. Rich is rich and if the rich kowtow to the poor it is only to stay in their good graces. If you want to limit the freedom of business degreed persons to earn, then limit the artists as well. See how well that goes over. Actually that's precisely how we get this country back, the same as in England when their artists rebelled against the liberal labor party before Thatcher. Taxman, pennies, eyes.
BTW, does ANYONE out there know who this new drummer is out there for DEVO. He's no young spring chicken, or at least it looks that way, but he's kind of hot ... from what I can tell. NOT that I'm looking or anything, I'm just sayin.' Anyway, could he be the son of one of the original DEVO band members? I'm certain that it's not Alan ... so who is he?
I LOVE my DEVO ... I 've been the biggest DEVO fan out there since 1979. HOWEVER, they're "lost" as individuals as far as their philophy goes. They always have been. Evolution and thereby, DEevolution is a lie. The biggest lie ever told to mankind. It's for God haters, plain and simple. However, I'll always love the wierdness and silly music of my DEVO. BTW, when I was 12 Bob Mothersbaug called me at my home due to an overwhelming amount of 'fan letters' that I wrote as a pre-teen. :-)
In my opinion. Devo was always ahead of it's time, and in a way... warned us with their music of the future. I think it's time they come back in the this new generation and show these kids what real music is like... maybe help form a new style, but on their terms. So... Ironically, I say that devo work on becoming the new face of this music era, such as cobain was the frontman for Generation X. I'd love to see some new Devo songs.
It's scary to think that all our parents were right when they said we too would be subjected to a style of music run by a different generation that we wouldn't agree with. They had rock n' roll, perhaps some of us had grunge or punk, whatever. but it's all the same. if you are a 90's kid, your time is comming to an end. Music today has become too simple yet sound difficult. It's like... the synthesyser in the 80's... move over electric guitar. Devo understands this... brilliantly.
Mark is a genius and ahead of his time, now even in 2010. Hey fellow spud. Nice Page. Come check out my new Devo Video from letterman (from June 15, 2010) of thier new single Fresh. Please comment, Sub Rate and Enjoy :)
Oh god, I look at the comments on a Devo interview and people are quoting Margaret Thatcher in agreement, talking about the NWO and moaning about taxes? Is somebody gonna start talking about the virtues of homoeopathy next? How Obama is taking away their guns and is the socialist-nazi-communist antichrist??? We're all truly Devo. I'm gonna kill you.
Do you guys realize that we're getting a philosophy lecture from a man in a grey jumpsuit, glow-in-the-dark sunglasses, and a shiny red hat? I wouldn't have it any other way. Are we not men?
Always a pleasure to hear or see some creation or anything else from Devo, these guys are still crazy on stage, and we can see this hapiness in their eyes to be on stage...
Eliminate the ninnies and the twits!!! You know, I'm GLAD that the DEVO guys have money now and can do creative stuff for a living instead of working crappy day jobs. DEVO has flown the Geek flag high, and they make me proud of the fact that they are of the Geek tribe. And yes...De-Evolution is very, VERY real. How else do you explain 8 years of Cheney/Bush? How else do you explain the Teabaggers?
Don't forget. The current Obama administration is proving itself to be just as bad as it's starting to do the same things that the Bush Administration is doing.
@Watcher3223 Obama is much worse . He is putting this country into more debt than any other president in history. Also he is allowing federal funding for the killing of unborn babies.
@eatatmargos , by now i think DEVO now's that it was a mistake to support for Obama (than again there not the only ones hat made that mistake, hopefully they won't make the same mistake again)
I'm sorry but the last half of your comment was polarized, partisan garbage. You contribute to a faction, anyone that does removes themselves from an evolutionary standpoint altogether. Just the fact that you have 37 thumbs up here on youtube is scary; you interject partisan talking points and try to wrap them up in a comment about DEVO. Thank you for proving Mark's point about the evolutionary dissent by adding to it.Because you believe yourself to be so "with it" read Federalist #10, enjoy.
@MsGeek703 By that logic, moron, the next logical step in de-evolution is what we got after Bush/Cheney. Yeah, just savor that for a few moments and you will realize Oblah-blah/Biden is a step down from the more evolved previous administration. Way to go.
@MsGeek703 De-evolution shows no signs of stopping or slowing down. Things decay and get worse. Hence, Blobama and the Blobamabots are a natural continuation of the previous administration.
@MsGeek703 or better yet Obama...lol Mr. No Experience himself. Talk about devolution now we don't need anyone with experience to run the White house.
don't forget about the Democrats. They're just as if not more responsible as the neo-conservatives for the state of our society... The genuine Tea Party people's message is for real though. Less government in our lives = more freedom for the people. Somehow the lefties can grasp that idea. It is perfectly logical to those who critically think, but it seems to evade those in power and those who want to be taken care of by government...
@colemann76 Smooth Noodle Maps was "very good"? Not the last time I listened to it. It was certainly better than Total Devo, but that's not saying much. =P

Oh, the old micro-evolution argument. Let me guess, you don't believe in macroevolution, do you?
EyeoftheU 1 year ago
@EyeoftheU Why would I? There is no evidence for macro-evolution. And it cannot be proven scientifically. The only evidence ever offered are models of "transitional" fossils, or fraudulent transitional fossils. Or animals with like taxonomy having similar DNA. Then evolutionists take taxonomic charts and arrange them in a way to show that evolution occurred. What a joke. And what is worse is that some people are fooled by this!
thechessstick 1 year ago
@thechessstick
Supporting microevolution, but not macroevolution, is like saying that it is perfectly possible to use one domino brick to trip over another, but then throwing a fit and screaming that it is impossible to trip over an entire line of domino bricks in the same way.

EyeoftheU 1 year ago
@thechessstick
In your list of evidence you forgot the living examples of natural selection in birds and insects. Oh and the timeclocks of trees and radioactive dating that calibrate a timescale for evolution. Then there's the the fossil record and the traces of our earliest ancestors. And not forgetting the confirmation from molecular biology and genetics and much more . . .
redword2007 1 year ago
@redword2007 Living examples of selection?! You are running right back to micro-evolution again. You just don't get it, do you? Those other things that you mentioned are easily countered. If you want websites I will get them for you. Google RATE for the dating techniques. Also, you should read Dr. Robert Gentry's book and papers. I will leave you to yourself for a while. Perhaps you can star if a future DEVO video as a typical evolutard.
thechessstick 1 year ago
@thechessstick
Most species that live in competition with others are 'living examples' as they are continuing to evolve. The oberved examples of species divergence are well documented, but what is the point of confronting you with evidence? You are a religious fundamentalist who believes that "satan controls the governments of the world."

How well do you cope with major changes in your favorite computer app or PC operating every two or three years with the previous one junked and progressively unsupported?
Do you really ever throughly learn to use any of them in that time window?
People who resist changing apps and operatings systems often throughly learn to use them and can run rings, in performance, around the people who but every new version on the manufacturer's time table.
njnorth1 1 year ago
@njnorth1 That's called evolution. Systems evolve. People that thrive are those that can adapt to change. I still like reel to reels and LPs but times change and I've adapted to CDs instead of records, digital 16 tracks over reel to reel recorders. Operating systems evolve too. Who is ignorant enough to think they can continue to do the same things the same way forever in an information age?
BaronVonLichtenstein 1 year ago
@BaronVonLichtenstein
