Im thinking of purchasing the ntg2 with the rode blimp and 3m boom pole. How well does the rode ntg2 perform and have you had any problems or found any better audio solutions in that price range ?
i think the ntg2 is a very good mic for the price range, it especially helps to have a wind screen / blimp deal. i haven't had any other mics but the ntg2 gets the job done.
which steadycam did you use for your establishing shots ?

Did you have the RODE NTG-2 as a shotgun or boom?

If by shotgun you mean mounted on the camera, then no. But the ntg2 is a "shotgun" mic, and we used it on a boom.
