  • I also notice you're using a GS style drop... I see a lot of guys, Pavel included, do more of an overhand, drop and catch at the top... not sure which is best in a high rep situation, but I've heard the drop and catch tends to delay or prevent the onset of calluses.

    As always, good post!

  • I've been doing more gs style drop to save the hands and grip. If I were trying rip out as many as I could in 10 minutes with multiple hand switches, i would use more of an overhand drop. Thanks for the comment!

  • Nice progression... My problem is I tended to cast the bell out on the downswing, and to almost straightarm it up, which takes a lot more energy.

I find with your progression, starting with a dead snatch, it's kind of hard to straight arm it, and you tend to pull it up closer to your center line and body. Same for the drop, stopping at the shoulder, then back down. Helps in keeping the bell closer. Grooving that movement should help when transitioning into the full snatch with swing.

  • Yes, that's exactly it. This seems more logical when teaching newbees.

  • Thank you! Nice to have some inspiration this morning!
