I think you should get this phone, however if you seriously have a problem with the trackball, take it to someone to get it replaced with a trackpad. (it is possible)

On the scale of Balckberrys, the Bold is the top of the line, the Curve 8900 is premium and the 8520 is basic. Get the 8900. I read a couple reviews about them. The screen has better resolution on the 8900. Web Browsing is better in terms of speed and quality. The only catch that comes with the 8900 is that it still uses the trackball which might lose it's sensitivity after a long while.

@vaiodesony iPhone has way better and more apps, but you can always get an iPod Touch, which can use almost all the same apps the phone can. I prefer the Blackberry cause of it's interface and trackball and keyboard.

The thing is, what I've been TOLD to believe is that, in order to use even WI-FI, youll have to sign up for a data plan. The rep told me that even if I had WI-FI at home, it didn't matter. I couldnt connect to the internet. So they (att&t at least) make you sign up for data plan in order to use your OWN wi-fi, which i think is ridiculous. Someone please correct or confirm me on this fact.

i borrowed a friends Curve 8300 which has wifi. i was able to access some sites with the wifi without even putting a sim card in it. but some sites would tell me i need a data plan. i agree with you. its just absolutely ridiculous. why even have it on the phone if you have to pay to use it? should i pay someone a montly fee to use my netgear router as well? on top of my comcast bill?

She's a beauty! I have it, and it's simply amazing. The only thing wrong with it is the lack of 3G, but the wi-fi makes up for it. I highly recommend it, although I've never used the BOLD myself.
