@lovingmynaturalhair gotta agree, born and raised in cali...and while i tried to bet behind what this song was supposed to represent, it was definitely not as good a song as self destruction...this song was just put together all wrong from the choice of music on down
This was filmed in my city. Still has a major impact on me now as it did back then. The sad part is that this is irrelevant now and if you live in Los Angeles you know what I mean smh
The song's producer himself assults Dee Barnes among others. One, in his 50's, even tells a 17 year old Black kid to "eat a dick".. among other things I could list here..
21 Years later.. Blacks continue to fight, cheat, and kill each other while 'playing nice' with the Whites.
Just like "Self Destruction" a year before it, this song was nothing but entertainment.
The lyrics Eazy spit he actually lived in the streets of Compton when he was a drug dealer,so his lyrics are about what he's done and seen but he just didn't write them,Cube and Wren did. R.I.P. Easy E.
We need these new rappers to put 2gether something like this since theyre what the youth worship these days......its doable and can be a success....it just takes 1 big willy to set it off....time to give back something before we dont have a race..
WOULDA BEEN BETTER WITH THE VERSION WITH THE "BOOYAA TRIBE' WE HAD BEEF WITH LOC BACK THEN SO MIKE PULLED THE OKIE DOKE....HAMMER SCREAMIN STOP THE VIOLENCE....LOL
what the fuck??this is some ol bullshit you started this gangsta shit now you finish it all these fools are tryin to back down n shit fuck em...this song has no style no rythm total garbage
@Makiba08 No!!! you are dead wrong, Blacks kill and harm all races, white, hispanic, asian, arabic, just watch first 48 on A&E, you will see the real truth. Blacks cause problems with all races and kill, kill and kill, they are the only race that cause problems, everyone knows it but are afraid to say it....bottom line...just the facts bro.....
@wrff1045 You're a fucking racist, unfourtunally we're in a world where evryone kills evryone. It's ridiculous how some stupid people keeps putting the blame on a race or in the other race or in the other gang or in the other country, we are all guilty for this violence.
@wrff1045 Look at history....the European conquerors invaded, stole, raped and massacred every people they came across......ask the Native Americans, Africans, Hawaiians, Polynesians, Aborigines, Aztecs, Indians etc. and now added to that list is the innocent muslim women and children today...no other people have done that...they warred against other tribes from their land. By peace (democracy) they destroyed many.
@cheeto4sure YES BUT NEITHER OF THOSE BROTHERS WERE DOING THINGS ON THIER OWN....PAC WAS A HYPE KID FOR DIGITAL UNDERGROUND WHO GAVE HIM HIS FIRST SHOT SAME SONG IN 93....WATCH THE VIDEO ON YOUTUBE. HE HAS A KID AND PLAY CUT....IT WAS WELL AFTER THAT HE BECAME A BEAST!!!!!
@ScottyGatez lmao "Same song" came out before 2pac's debut album "2pacalypse now" which dropped in '91. get your facts straight before TYPING LIKE THIS lol
Who made the decision to cut out the female rappers (Oaktown 357 and JJ Fad) so that this song could be shorter? The hip hop industry is sexist as well.
West should've banded around Hammer, a real street cat who never glorified the bullshit. Instead they ran with NWA...the fake gangsters led by that incredibly ignorant Eazy-E.
@manrae I'm glad you made that observation. Because the real dudes from the streets are not going to glorify it once they get out of it. But you got fake gangster Dr. Dre who was apart of an R&B group before joining NWA and his ex-boss Easy E.
Ice T's break down is missing: "What if we can take our enemies feed 'em poison, under educate the girls and boys and split 'em up make 'em fight one another, better yet, make 'em kill for a color..." (it broke off into the Colors beat)
I agree. You're either part of the problem or part of the solution, and you can't be a part of the solution when you earn millions off bragging about how many brothas you smoked and how many hoes you banged. Dr. Dre viciously beat up one of the very women who was on this song because she had Ice Cube as a guest on her show at a time when he and Dre were beefing. He never stepped to Cube, but beat up a woman half his size and wants to rap about unity.
Dre, Ren, & Easy came real with their lyrics. They weren't trying to sound super positive just to fit in with the other rappers. You gotta respect real y'all.
@2pac4lyf91 tupac was doing back up for Digital Underground when this came out. He didnt have enough "Juice" at the time to make as big of an impact as the heavy hitters that are in this video.
@Bohughes81 nah not like that....this was out before Pac was signed...Pac wasnt even considered a star until like 93-94...Im from this era and to be honest...Pac was not the shit like like that he wasnr even considered the best because the talent pool was DEEP....we had many many many bests. Tupac was just another rapper.
this song was good but 2 things were missing. 1.)tupac woulda killed this song but he wasn't in the game yet. 2.)everyone knows why ice cube wasn't in the song (the beef with nwa & mc hammer)
Dre and Ren made a great little duo. They could've been the West Coast version of Run DMC. That song they did together, on 'Straight Outta Compton' was dope. You know, the one where they rapped together, saying, "..smilin' like hell, as we move past the suckers, the motherfuckers, with the ego hype, while we're both positive and they're all the negative type".
@PoseidonRM That's West Coast R&B singer Michell'e. She used to be signed to Ruthless Records back in the late 80's-early 90's. You can also see her in Dogg Pound's "Let's Play House" as well.

The song: Bonafide Classic!
The Movement? Bonafide JOKE!
Why? A couple of small examples:
The song's producer himself assults Dee Barnes among others. One, in his 50's, even tells a 17 year old Black kid to "eat a dick".. among other things I could list here..
21 Years later.. Blacks continue to fight, cheat, and kill each other while 'playing nice' with the Whites.
Just like "Self Destruction" a year before it, this song was nothing but entertainment.
