  • I just KNEW Fry would have to shoot a gun during his journey in America. Wouldn't be getting the America experience without it. :P

  • "That would be the greatest honor of my life." Poor brit! I wouldn't be surprised if he would be jailed for that honor in his country.

  • This is great, I have known deputy Stefani for 20 years (he's the big guy). One of the nicest guys you will ever meet. The other guy is MCSO sheriff Allman.

  • i love how entertained the law enforcement officers are int his particular video. stephen tops them tho!

  • Its smaller than I remember in the Harry movie.

  • .50AE makes the .44 a cap gun.

  • @solusdiver do you even know what your talking about?

  • @SynysterPaintball Yes I do, as a matter of fact.

  • @solusdiver

    .500S&W makes the .50AE a cap gun

  • @akunev .500S&W is for pussies.

  • @solusdiver .500S&W is a cool gun to shoot though!

  • @VC106893 Haven't had a chance to fire one yet, but one of the range officers at my local range had one and he fired a few rounds off. Bloody thing sounded like a cannon...I think the .50AE was louder, but the .500 definitely has big balls.

  • @solusdiver It's a beast, I shot it with max grain, magnum bullets... I dunno what it all had. (it's not mine, I was just on holiday). After 5 shots you can feel your wrists and really need a break! lol

  • @VC106893 My son said the same thing. He's fired the .50AE also and said the .500 was way more powerful. So looks like I have to get my butt out to the range and see if I can rent one to run a few rounds through it.

  • Gun Man: "Ya know, the old cowboys used to keep a twenty dollar bill in the cylinder of the gun"

    *WOOP**WOOP**WOOP**WOOP**WOOP**WOOP*

Fry: "Well no, actually. Indeed they used to keep a twenty on their person, but they put it their left boot, not their gun."

  • Someone should take the audio from this clip and lip-sync it with the original clip.

  • I do like Steven fry but he is such a bad stereotype of an English person

  • @BudweiserKingofBeer *good

  • @BudweiserKingofBeer Well there's a reason why stereotypes exist; because they're real.

  • @BudweiserKingofBeer Playing on his 'Englishness' is part of what the program's about I suppose, but I do know exactly what you mean and it annoys me as well.

  • seems to handle the recoil decently enough

  • A very polite Harry

  • Ah!! Mummy!

  • So, cool when he does it... He should do films as well... I pay to say that any day!

  • God hes awesome

  • Well punk....DO YOU??? *aaahhahhahahah*

  • Thumbs up if you want a new Dirty Harry movie with Stephen Fry doing Callahan.

  • @eduardoavai I beg your pardon?

  • @eduardoavai Depends what you mean by 'doing' :P

  • Holy mackerel? WTF he isn't black.

  • "5 shots or only 6?" other way around, fry! :)

  • Press 7 to see Stephen's "taking a dick face".

  • i would have love it if the cops said..

here thats your present take to england with yah..

  • Sadly, the gun can do more than scare life out of you.

  • @braydenbeautiful Awesomely, the gun can do more than scare the life out of you.

  • thats a colt!!

  • @hardman476 No, no it aint. The Colt Anaconda has a very distinctive fluted sight rail along the top. This is the S&W, just as the officer said. What made you think it was a colt?

  • @1slcguy beat me to it my dad has a old model 29 he got in 72 it still shoots nice

  • MUMMY

  • hahha! I don't think those guys had ever met anybody like Stephen before that. I think they were delighted.

  • How can he go through the entire line without so much as a pause to think and then miss the last bit?

    "Well, punk, do you?"

I did enjoy the line without the traditional bad Clint impersonation, though.

  • @mysteryshrimp

What are you talking about? 1:01

  • @Nilguiri The line is "Well, do you punk?", not "Well, punk, . . . do you?". After the verbatim perfection of the previous 35 seconds, he corrected the grammar of the final sentence.

  • @mysteryshrimp

    I stand corrected!

  • 2 people are satanic mackerels!!

  • 2 people arent feeling lucky

  • Character research for Reaver

  • i think theres so many cool tough guy american films because theyre compensating for somthing.. The British are 'ard !

  • @ColtClockwork that would have to do with genetics.....17% of us are german, 12% are Irish, and 10% are british.

  • you know if we want to stop all the English stereotyping in america we really must stop sending fry over there, 5 minutes with him and their gona walk away thinking every thing they've seen in Four Weddings and a Funeral and Brideshead Revisited was spot on

  • "Is it weird that I have a boner?!" "It'd be weird if you didn't!"

  • @IzzyJG99 Lol, what's that from? I remember watching it recently :L

  • @JPsSuperStairway American Dad's last Christmas special.

  • He us pretty much the British stereotype

  • He us pretty much the British sterotype

  • 2 people dare to challange the wrath of the holy mackerel

  • 2 people dare to challenge the wrath of the holy mackerel!

  • Dirty Harry with impeccable grammar.

  • there is nothing better than seeing Stephen playing with a magnum xD

  • @spanky9067 You don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about. Firstly, the recoil was far too much for .44 specials, and only a person who has never shot before would suggest that cast lead denotes .44 special. The heaviest +P+ .44 Mag loads on the market are all unjacketed cast lead; Garrett 330 grain Hammerheads and Buffalo Bore 340 grainers. In addition, with .44 Mags being very expensive, they could be shooting handloads here as well, with cast lead available from 180-340 grain.

  • @spanky9067 clearly you havent shot a 44 you are stupid or you cant control a gun at all

  • I know what youre thinking.. did I fire 5 shots or only 6 Haha :)

  • Best Dirty Harry impression EVER!

  • He should be used to big cannons going off in his hand!

  • Reminds me of first time a buddy shot my blackhawk - he held it so hard - in fear, maybe - that with the first shot he had to step back a couple of paces, behind the firing line... that was in the days you could own those things in the UK, before the knee-jerk reactions by government reduced us to 22 rimfire.

  • do you think if Jupitus saw this clip he'd mouth off to "Sir"?

  • It's always funny to see a foreigner shoot a hand gun for the first time.

  • LOL. spotted one error in his quote:

    Did I fire 5 shots or only 6? 0:36

    :D

  • @kenshin1911: Not to mention that he says it's the most powerful handgun in the world (though given that technically it was the quote itself that was wrong)

  • well do ya punk????? Gotta love that pansie british accent

  • @reasland well now that sort of a comment is just not cricket! if I were to meet you in the street, you know what I'd do good sir, I'd box your ears.

  • @Coolguyrob2006 good luck with that, still sounds like a pansie

  • @reasland Please stop projecting your insecurities onto others.

  • i love how after Stephen yells Holy Mackerel!! the sheriffs are giggling like preschoolers : )

  • Makes me laugh every time.

  • Hearing Stephen Fry quoting Dirty Harry while the music from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly played in the background brought back so many memories of great Clint Eastwood movies...

  • @errtuownsyou no I think steven fry is a very entertaining celebrity

  • He is so cool <3

  • He looked like he was having fun.

  • .44 is a big rounnd, its not everyone who can do that one handed, he's right you do feel it

  • Any person who isn't British who sees this, please don't think we are all like Stephen fry

  • @jimik89 Sadly you aren't all like Stephen Fry.

  • @fr0ber I wish there was someone from Iceland that was worth mentioning but unfortunately, your country plays no major role in the world.

  • @fr0ber Sadly I can only like Stephen Fry and not be like Stephen Fry. :(

  • @jimik89 Dost thou have a problem with the mighty Stephen Fry?

  • @jimik89 lol I wish more of us were like stephen fry

  • @jimik89 gtfo we want to be like him

  • i live steve fry! he has such a distinct accent and an exciting sense of humor

  • he sounds like an english woody allen doing this bit.but he should have had both hands on the weapon and a better stance.

  • HOLY MACKEREL!

  • Comment removed

  • I wanna see that movie now!!!

  • snaggle puss sounds more threatning than Stephen Fry

  • @jusfuknwidya Your just incredibly and uncontrollably jealous.

  • hilarious XDDD

  • this made my day :)

  • He should have come to my work. We would have had him shooting machineguns.

  • " That would be the greatest honour od my life " That's a good line

    Dr John

    Carsanook

    Kingdom of Thailand

  • Is Stephen left handed?

  • @gamesbok I don't think so cause he's holding the gun with his right hand, but it wouldn't surprise me if he could write with both

  • you CANNOT have a complete trip to America without firing a gun. lol

  • It's also too bad he butchered the damn line.

"5 shots or only 6?" What sense does that even make?

  • Stephen Fry is a fucking legend.

  • Did he say "fire 5 shots or only 6"? lol

  • Holy Mackrel!

  • "HOLY MACKEREL!"

  • excellent, what's this from?

  • @sammcj2000 stephen fry in america

  • MUMMY!

  • oh, and i also just noticed:

"i know what you are thinking... did i fire 5 shots or only 6?"

    ummm... yea.

  • ok, :21 wtf? "it has a wonderful smell"

now while i am an avid shootist (nra member, gun collector, former marine, gun shop employee/gunsmith) and do love the smell of burnt powder, it still strikes me as rather odd, especially from his tone, that he loves the smell of an unfired gun, haha

  • @PooPoo2U I assumed he meant the smell of gun oil. I find it pleasant, also. Smells like bananas, sort of.

  • @skcushcodrum: Yea, but even weirder is that he says it while the gun's in the officer's hand. That's one great and strange sense of smell!

  • LOL THIS IS FUNNY!

  • lol sounded like he was having an orgasm from the gun.

  • Do I feel Luckey xD

  • there's something incredibly incongruous about seeing him just holding that gun lol

  • LOL

he looks like the funniest thing in the world holding the gun like that.

    Love fry so much <3

  • "well punk,do you?"

  • Pensavi di tenere in mano una glock 17 ?

    44 magnum very american caliber.

  • MUMMY!

  • Soviet Patparine 9.2mm this is the most powerful hand gun in the world, but for distance the 44 would beat the Patparine hands down. All who think the 44 is the most powerful hand gun, do some research, other than just listening to media and movies.

  • @robotracking

You do know that's a fictional weapon, right?

    It doesn't exist!...

  • @robotracking the .600 NE is the most power full handgun/handcannon.

  • ...BTW, this was not too long after he broke that arm.

  • ...and he one-handed it! Stephen, you are a gun god...as well as being one of the most intellectually unique and funny men on the planet.

  • The cowboy who kept a 20 in his gun instead of another bullet tended to need that 20 for burial.

  • @quegold1911

even the best shots kept only 5 bullets as a safety, since you wouldnt want one to go off accidentally when youre on horseback and hammer accidently hits. but yeah in prolongued shootouts they loaded 6 but for duels not so much. So I guess instead of keeping that chamber empty they had the idea of keeping a 20 in.

  • The most powerful handgun.. in.. the world

  • Dirty Harry - "do I feel lucky. well do ya punk ?"

Stephen Fry - "does one feel lucky. well does thou punk ?"

  • @OzoneLaiyarr "is sir in the position of having a feeling of luckness at this moment? is sir?"

  • @OzoneLaiyarr "dost", not "does".

  • @JohnsonLobster Sorry. I dont speak ye olde English Jason.

  • @OzoneLaiyarr Congratulations, that made absolutely no grammatical sense whatsoever.

  • @db1each Im awfully sorry, but i couldnt give less of a shit.. Actually let me start again.

I couldnt give less of a shit.

  • also from keeping a note in one of the cylinders, comes the phrase to "pass the buck"

  • Aw he would be an adorable Dirty Harry!

  • He's just a giant kid! :D

  • Wow didn't Stephen Fry get fat in America. Look at his belly!!!

And also quite amazing that he's managed to lose all of since....

  • Who is the one idiot who disliked this?

  • @calumhogg probably @Karestase. look at his comment.

  • holy mackrel........

  • Cool!

  • Hahaha, what a fucking Legend.

  • A lot of people seem to be calling Stephen a wimp here, just like on QI when Phil Jupitus or whoever suggests he's far too posh to know how to pronounce the word 'gangster' or whatever, but frankly, Stephen's the hardest and in perhaps strongest guy in that room and I'm sure harder than most commenting here. Unless anyone here also survived prison at the age of 17, or survived suicidal depression the level of his..

  • @romeosdistress absolutely agree!!!!

  • @romeosdistress I think Stephen Fry is a wimp in this. But I mean it in the best way possible. :)

  • @Wonkylenny You are so right. :D

  • @Azzbeeter Hmm, nice generalisation.

  • @Azzbeeter

We have guns in the UK, unlike America, we don't have tons of gun crime.

London has food from all over the World.

Proper dental care? we have the NHS, which takes care of our teeth and health, because of this, British people have the healthiest teeth in the World, look it up on Google, i'm not kidding, it's a real statistic, World Health Organisation I think it is : )

  • @theunderone1

Oh sure the crime is sooo low over there, less guns means less crime.Thats your ego.

  • @MontyPython134

"Oh sure the crime is sooo low over there, less guns means less crime.Thats your ego."

No, I'm actually correct in my statement, Britain doesn't have much gun crime, per person murdered, it's not even close to the U.S.

However, Britain is still a violent place, you're more likely to be involved in a violent attack in London than anywhere else in Europe, but at least you will be attacked with fists, not a gun.

  • @theunderone1

Or at least attack with knives rather than guns.

I'm sure anti-gun laws work so well,oh wait they don't because it'll make it easier

for criminals to attack innocent bystanders, not even close?I bet you ignored the

consequences of anti-gun laws. Not knowing what would happen, yeah attack with fists, tell that to an old lady or a young women who just got beaten up by a couple of drunken thugs.

  • @MontyPython134

Yea well gun crime isn't a major problem here, trust me, I live in the Capital so I think I would know.

In the U.S people feel like they need a gun because everyone else might have one, including criminals, here in Britain less than one in every hundred thousand owns a gun, if someone goes on a rampage, they will get shot by armed police, simple.

Look at Columbine and Virginia Tech, the right to bear arms didn't help the victims, only the killers.

  • @theunderone1

Those shootings happen because those schools had anti-gun,no one there had the fire to fight the fire.If someone goes on a ramage they get shot by the cops?

In Britain, last time I checked British cops weren't allow to carry firearms let alone a store clerk.

If firearms are bad how come a country like Switzerland permits firearms to be owned?Hell it's require by law to own a gun and the crime rate is so low.

  • @MontyPython134

You just put forward the most stupid argument I've ever heard, "yea well, if everyone had a gun, when someone goes on a rampage, everyone can shoot him"

Well, let everyone in the U.S have a gun, so they can all shoot each other, here in Britain, we don't need them.

Standard British police do not carry guns, armed police obviously do.

about 19 out of 20 shootings are gang vs gang, to be honest, as long as innocent people aren't killed, let them shoot each other.

  • @theunderone1: you do realize the primary reason for the fact america has more gun crime than the uk COULD very well have something to do with the fact america has a population that is about 5 times that of the uk right?

that's like arguing that we have more landfills without acknowledging that your entire country is smaller than the state of michigan, the 11TH largest state in the US.

  • @PooPoo2U - erm. its gun crime rate. dumbass.

  • @PooPoo2U

There is less than 500,000 Gun owners in the UK,

52 million American households own guns, which is about 80 million individual gun owners.

So yes I was correct, the U.S has more than 40 times the amount of gun holders as the UK.

  • @theunderone1: that's a simple one to explain: in the UK guns were primarily used for hunting, an elitist activity in the grand scheme of the British social hierarchy, and so most people DIDN'T hunt, and thus had no reason to own a gun.

the fact is, most of the UK aren't gun owners due to the obnoxiously stringent gun laws. don't believe me? go look it up before you argue.

  • @theunderone1 i've seen adverts for gun holders to be added to your bed in america...

  • @PooPoo2U whilst your explanation for increased gun crime in america rather than britain is a factor the simple fact of the matter is that guns and weapons on the whole are A LOT easier to get hold of in america than in britain. in america you buy gun from WALMART for god's sake whereas in Britain all handguns are banned along with all pump-action weapons. so in britain instead we have a slew of knife crimes and in glasgow they have drive-by forehead buttings.

  • @TherealMrChristophel: you don't simply go to the wal-mart and buy a gun, there ARE background checks and a minimum 5-day waiting period.

also, isn't great britain 2 countries, england and scotland? the proper name for the entire union is "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" after all.

  • @PooPoo2U yes background checks go without saying, but i find it amazing and very frightening that in america a civilian can buy, leagally, a AK-47 or other assault weapons. also britain is made up of scotland, england, northern ireland and wales is a principality.

  • @TherealMrChristophel: have you ever read the amount of paperwork you have to go through to get an assault rifle, silencers, short barrel shotguns, etc? FIRST, you must submit a form 3 to the atf, at which point they will do a VERY thorough background check, then you will have to have written permission from a chief local law enforcement officer, and then must pay a tax to the ATF.

this ensures that dealers would rather not sell illegally and risk their license.

  • @PooPoo2U no i haven't read all the paperwork, BUT YOU CAN STILL GET THEM. In britain if you were found with anything like that or even plans to buy anything like that you would be arrested on the spot. face it, america has looser gun laws and therefore more gun crime, it's very simple.

  • @TherealMrChristophel: I have class 3 weapons (short rifles, silencers, automatics, all registered), and if i were found in possession of one i DIDN'T register i would face up to five years in prison and a $100k fine.

if you commit a violent crime with a silencer such as robbery (without actually killing someone), you face a mandatory life sentence.

  • @TherealMrChristophel: the fact is, you want to make it sound like a cakewalk, but it isn't in the slightest. the ridiculous amount of paperwork means no gun dealer would risk selling an unregistered automatic, silencer, etc. because not only would they run the risk of losingï
