  • Was Jim Henson the G-Delivery Guy?

  • Nope. Richard Hunt.

  • the bird was the best thing in the song

  • love it

  • Oh the G Force Winds from Ayrshire

  • This debuted in episode #1167, and was last shown in episode #3586.

  • Gosh, I havn't seen this in at least 30 years. Some of these youtube clips take me right back to my early childhood years.

  • In a way, they remind me of Patty Smyth and Don Henley.

  • This wasn't nearly as scary as the skit with Grover and the growing G.

  • I don't love that letter, but I like this song.

  • Who performs the girl? Is it Marilyn Sokol?

  • I think so.

  • Nice song, but that bird still scares the shit out of me.......especially when he pecks loudly on the G at the end......how disturbing......and what's up with his deep-ass voice??

  • A legend in the making!!!

  • Nice.. it swings

  • Dude! I wondered if anyone had this one! :-)

  • Golly gosh, I haven't seen "G" since my gawky childhood.

  • What would we do without the letter "G"? O_O

  • TYVM I alwys loved this ,and the bird is always just so funny lol

  • WOOOW...I still have that song in my head from 30 yrs ago.

  • Wow I loved this song when I was a little girl still do. What is the names of the girl and the boy who sing this? Are they called George and Gina? because in the song the girl says George married Gina. I love the little bird he is co cute but I had a nighmare about him onnce when I was younger but not anymore. I love the bits when the girl and boy are dancing and the bird says Oh G then eats some grass. But I love the end when the bird sits on the G and says G and starts pecking at the G. xxxxx

  • Wow great song but I had a nightmare about that bird once lol

  • It sounds like they're going to do something besides sing at the beginning of the clip

  • "Gadzooks! What are you folks dancing in the woods for!Oh Gee Whiz!XD! Great song-and the little bird is adorable!

  • Gadzooks - used as a mild oath

Merriam-Webster Online says you are wrong.

  • My friend was obsessed with this song and sang it all the time at school. The most memorable part of his performance was when he'd do the bird pecking at the end.

  • why don't you ask Sherlock Hemlock.

  • GADZOOKS!

  • HAHHAHAHAHAHHAA

  • oh...g how i love and remember this song my friends and i sang this at school each day

  • You had cool friends.

  • Oh this is cute. I love it I give it 100 stars. I love the bird it's cute and the girl because she has a cute voice and the boy has a lovely voice too as well as the girl. This segment is the best on SS.

  • oh G

  • Is this Please Mister Postman?

Because i thought the title was Oh! Darling

  • ok the guy singing is chris cerf, is the female singing maryln sokol the one who sang the baby rock song?

  • Yeah, that's who I think it is.

  • And the bird is Jerry Nelson.

  • are you sure? I'm pretty sure it's Jeff Moss.

  • Gadzooks, the voice Richard used for that delivery guy sounds a lot like one of our favorite GERIATRIC Muppets, Statler!

  • Well, his voice is a bit higher than Statler's, but I see your point. I wonder if he works with the guy who delivered the members of Herbert Birdsfoot's "ET" family. In fact, he could be Joey, who apparently was laughing at him off screen.

  • sonny bono and sher hahahaha

  • I liked this song. As weird as it may be. :) Whenever I saw this, I always thought "oi vey!", but I like this song anyway. :)

  • y'know? my nick name is G, i have beem looking for this song since i've been a lil bastard.

  • Sounds a bit like a woodpecker when the bird starts pecking the G.

  • Ive been looking for this one for awhile!!Thanks for posting !!!!

  • just where is that G spot?

  • hmmm...they must know where it is...'cause the "oh! OH! OHH!!" part does sound a bit...um...orGasmic...donchya tink?

  • "Gadzooks! What are you folks dancing in the woods for?" :)

  • I love this song about the letter G. It's so cute.

  • oh gee! its a G!

    haha...im funny...

  • The bird looks bored out of his mind.

  • THAT VOICE DONT GO WITH THAT BIRD or is that DODO BIRD???

  • My Dad will say "Oh G" just like the bird and I crack up. Good times!

  • Great little song. I love that bass-singing bird and how it pecks the G at the end.

  • Bird = Tay Zonday

  • that bird sure has a deep voice!

  • The Green woman sort of looks like my Mom.:D

  • The female puppet looks like Vanna White.

  • LOL sooo cute! I love the hands moving from side to side.

  • The song was always catchy

  • O MI G-G-G-GOSH!! Thanks for putting this video up! I've been waiting soo long :P

  • From G to shinning G!!

  • "...That's why I love that letter!"

  • This was awesome, and I remembered it after watching it.

  • that guy sounds like Bryan Adams to me.

  • I love this clip! Thank you for sharing, sawing14s! You rock!

  • Or should I say you're g-g-g-great or g-g-g-groovy! LOL!

  • Wow! It's Chris Cerf singing about the "G".

  • Who performed the green anything muppet girl?

  • I'm thinking it might be Marilyn Sokol, though I could be wrong.

  • This song is great, gorgeous, gallant and grand, and that little bird reminds me of Chuck Jones's Warner Bros. cartoon character, the Mynah Bird, who would hop to Mendelssohn's Fingal's Cave Overture.

  • Guille! What a coincidence. You're a mind reader. I had been wanting to revisit this song as I hadn't paid much attention to it when I was younger. And with all the great clips you've been coming up with lately, I was wondering if you might have it. And you do. Thanks a lot for uploading it.

  • Thanks, I've been waiting for this. I always got a kick out of the little bird singing the bass line. 5 stars

  • Those three anything Muppets later joined Grover and Kermit in a skit about counting to 2. And the bird later appeared in the Count's Coconut Counting Man skit, but with a girl's voice.

  • Gadzooks!

  • Pretty g-g-g-good...more "substance" in the music and lyrics than that "Grover/George" song.
