Your insistence on wearing them regardless of practicality might lead some people to think you're shallow. Heels or not, great drummer, respect.

In the long run, you could potentially damage your leg muscles and herniate your lower back. It happened to Peter Criss from KISS when he used to play in high platform shoes as part of his costume.

It's pretty easy to see why she plays in heels; There's so many musicians with videos that that you need to have some hook to get people to actually watch and talk about you. It worked, didn't it? We're all here. At the end of the day she's a great metal drummer, regardless of whatever she decides to wear.

Its bullshit ...Double bass drumming feels kind of good with big chunky boots ,depending on the pedal ... Gene Hoglan plays in big steel capped boots and practices with ankle weights ...Pete Sandoval has said that he prefers to play fast stuff in big boots and watch his videos too...also watch Hellhammer play in New Rock boots ...Im a Death Metal drummer/guitarist myself and know that there is a interesting comfort in big heavy rigid boots when playing fast ...Its hard just sounds good

Speaking as a drummer myself, I don't know why you would want to wear the heels while you're playing. I play in my socks to have better feel for the pedal, I would think that playing something as physically demanding as metal, you would want to do what best suits you for improving ability in your playing, instead of what you believe to be best in fashion styles. It would be like a dude wearing welding gloves while playing classical guitar. Still, you're a very good drummer :-)

Every once in a while Yngwie Malmsteen wears his knitted swedish mittens so he won't loose the feel playing guitar with them on. It's hard, but most of his early stuff where written in cold Sweden with mittens on. Just like this clip, that's also pretty impressive - and really stupid...

@soulblz I wondered that aswell but at the end of the video she gives the answer: she loves heels and she loves drumsets (esp. her own drumset I guess)...now because she loves both she combines both. Oh and this is an other example for the fact that just because a couple of things are good/you love a couple of things doesn't mean that you should combine those things. People have figured out for example that icecream and rollercoasters don't work very well when combined...

i thnk its an angle issue when i play double kicks and my legs hurt.. when i play heel up.. like REALLY up, it kills my thighs, but the lower i play its the calf and shin...

@soulblz I wondered that aswell but at the end of the video she gives the answer: she loves heels and she loves drumsets (esp. her own drumset I guess)...now because she loves both she combines both. Oh and this is an other example for the fact that just because a couple of things are good/you love a couple of things doesn't mean that you should combine those things. People have figured out for example that icecream and rollercoasters don't work very well when combined...

To all of you saying why does she even play in heels. The first time I saw a video of hers that was the most memorable part of the video. I've never seen anyone shred double bass in high heels. A big reason why I'm still watching Lux Drummerette vids.
