huge fan of metallica, slipknot, korn, and tons of others. had a person tell me i needed to expand beyond rock and metal. without saying a word, i handed them one of my headphones, switched to this song on my iPod, and glared at them throughout the entire song. wen it was over, i responded with a "better?" and went about my business. i like wut i like, stop trying to change me!!! not really, but it would b funny to do lol

And I love Metallica still, some of their newer stuff just doesn't click with me that much. Not because I'm closed to the music, but because I don't like what I'm hearing. Like I said, this is a decent country song, but it's an awful Metallica song because it is country. And by the way, I'm wearing my Master of Puppets shirt right now guys, I'm not hating on Metallica. They do indeed rule. But their new music (like in the past 5 to 10 years) is almost all garbage to me. That's my 2 cents.

It's starting to get on my nerves how much people like to argue because they think I'm not open enough toward this song or that I supposedly don't think Metallica is any good anymore. I think they're dead in the music world. They're just not the powerhouse they used to be. That's all I was saying. I still love Metallica.

@sadmanDARK No no, this song is ridiculous. The slide country guitar and the wannabe cowboy james heltfield just makes it goofy. Watch this, then watch Live Shit Binge and Purge and tell me which one is real Metallica and which one is failed shot at commercial success. St. Anger was a step in the right direction, then Death Magnetic was a bigger step, then Lulu was an accident, the Beyond Magnetic setup a bright future for Metallica.

I borrow St. Anger from a pal a while ago and really didn't like it. Live Shit was well, Live Metallica when they KICKED ASS. Death Magnetic on the other hand, was a great thing for these guys to do. I liked it a lot, but I still think they could be doing better. I don't expect them to start tearing it up like they did when they were in their prime. But hey, what else is there to say but that Country is not Metal lol.

@sadmanDARK I dont like St Anger either, but idk if there would be a Death Magnetic without it. I think Metallica has potential to be amazing again. Beyond Magnetic really showed that they still have a little fire, and thats more than i can say about most bands nowadays. Being that Chickenfoot, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Rise Against, A7x, and the Dropkick Murphys are the only ones making raw asskicking music anymore. Metallica could make another face in the biz.

IF Metallica realized they could that is. They need to see that fire is still in them, and right now it's almost like they're trying to relive past days and glory instead of seeing that they still have that potential to be the best there is at what they do. They just need to embrace who they are as musicians and stop worrying about how to stay on top so they can kick ass naturally without trying they way the way they did before.

I'm getting a lot of hate for not liking this as a METALLICA SONG. Metallica just isn't a country band in my mind. they're called METALlica. I NEVER said I didn't like this song. Yeesh people I said it wasn't a good Metallica song. You guys assume a little too much about a person you never met and don't know. I've heard this song many times. I DO like it, as a country song. Sure, it shows Metallica's got enough talent to do other things, but they fell from popularity for doing so. Thats a shame.

This song is one of the many reasons why Metallica is dead in the music world. Good country song, BAD Metallica song. Every time I hear this song I'm reminded of how many times they've sold out, while this certainly isn't the most infamous time (I believe that title belongs to Load) to me this is the worst time. This goes beyond artist experimentation and just adds to why people that like Metallica like "old" Metallica instead of "new" Metallica.

Why can;t you listen to this song with an open mind.You might learn why Metallica is vastly superior to a great majority of heavy metal bands.Imagine someone from Slayer or Megadeth writing this kind of song.They simply can;t because they lack that kind of talent to excel in different genres and sub-genres of music.Load is an excellent record that just cements Metallica's reputation as one of the greatest bands of its era.They could have continued in that vein
