Reminds me of when celebrities first started opening up Twitter accounts.
I think these new original YouTube channels are the start of something very disruptive. They've already got "twitter king" Ashton Kutcher involved. Can you imagine if Oprah re-booted her show on YouTube?
as dalmorah said, that's the way I currently consume content. only, i wish that the resolution of online content weren't so bad when on my tv. thats why i currently only watch on my computer and leave my nice tv for sports.
It's amazing that so many of my colleagues in "traditional" TV - and even a number of media students - still look at this industry with blinders and scoff at the online "fad." Once again, Gary - you're right on the money!
I think we will see the death of the normal TV channels we watch every day and the rise of the content makers.
When content makers can sell their content directly to the end users why allow middle men TV companies to take a slice? They will just allow users to access their content directly with the adverts they have embedded themselves, allowing them to take 100% of the profits.
It will be an interesting battle between Apple and Google for the TV screens that comes down to available Apps
Right there with ya! All iOS devices, iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, will serve as remote controls to the Apple TV....and those Google folks, with their Android gizmos.
what is direct for tech tv? he mentions it as something new at the end of the video.
