This year was my favorite end credtis, with the subway/el train. Looks like the #2 line in the Bronx. Inspite of the "urban decay" in the north, the 70s were still a fun time for those of us that were kids then. I still remember coming home from school, turning on the tv at 4:00p.m, and watching Sesame Street followed by "Mr. Rogers Neighborhood" and "The Electric Company". Clean, educational tv for kids that was not boring.
It is saddening about the actor who played David. (r.i.p)
@aya78473 That music over the funding credits is the jam. I always called it "the funky chimes". Even after all these years I never get tired of listening to it.
@jtomally9681 I was born in '81 too, but I saw it all the time. This theme continued well into the '80s. I'm sorry you missed out on this most awesome thing.
OMG NantoVision1, all those 70's end credits with the trumpet music and the road drive-by and the chimes and PBS logo bring back such memories. As I was born in 1971 that decade was so magical for me. For some reason trumpet music and scenes of traveling take me back there, so put them together… oh my goodness, it makes me pine with nostalgia for the days gone by when I was a kid filled with bright-eyed wonder and no worries. Thanks so much for all those 70's end credits.
@70sPowerHour Oh man, thanks for replying, because it took me back to this video. I needed that because the song was playing in my head for a substantial chunk of yesterday :)
