You must have done some research before buying this model.does this model have known screen issues? I cant find brief issues for this model on the internet.My last buy was samsung and its shit! so many people are experiecing screenissues on it.Dont want to be a fool again :( or else I can buy Asus eee.its sturdy!

such a shame! i love the design of the machine but if it can't even handle a simple html5 site what use does it have?
Instead of a MBA 11" with 1.6 Ghz C2D and 4GB Ram I ordered a Vaio YA with Intel i5 (!!!), 500 GB HD and 8GB Ram. At the Sony Style Online-Store you are also able to order the YA with a 128 GB SSD or a 256 GB SSD. Instead of about 1100 euro for the Apple MBA I have to pay 800 euro with student discount.
I tried to go Mac, but I couldn't force myself to pay a lot of money for a laptop that doesn't have good specs. Yes, it' ultra portable and Apple is a good company. But, I don't feel like I am getting my moneys worth. Paying $1,000 for a laptop that only comes with 64 GB of flash storage, That' nut!?! That much storage space hasn't come standard in a computer in ages. At least in Windows run computers. I have always admired what Apple has done. But, for right now, I am sticking with a PC.

@icoopers Getting what you pay for? if you pay more for less (lesser hardware and terrible software) isn't that the opposite of the point you just tried to make.... enjoy your MAC unless you finally realized they are terrible machines

The main reason Apple stuck with the c2duo in the MBA is because of an ongoing lawsuit between nvidia and intel.By law they can't use nvidia graphics with any of intel's newest core processors (i3/i5/i7).They can only use the core i3 with intel's integrated.That's what Sony did in this case.However, intel's integrated graphics suck and apple knows that.That's why they chose nvidia's graphics and stuck with the c2duo.
How is this considered an "ultra-portable" when it's 1.24" thick? The 17" MacBook Pro isn't even that thick. How is it also heavier than the 11" MacBook Air when it's made of plastic? Even the plastic White MacBook is thinner. Not as light obviously but even still.
@UltimaLinkStephen Totally disagree. For you maybe, but many people need more functionality and power than a smartphone offers while on the go. I do a lot of work outside the house and office so I carry around my MacBook Pro. Just because you don't have a use for something doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. Just don't buy them, that's as good as not existing.

But then again, those who want to buy computers in the 11.6 inch range are probably not focused on comparing the processors--- they're probably more interested in the display and weight..
i was tempted to buy the macbook air but i just bought 8gbs of ram and installed it on my macbook pro mid 2009, its slightly faster but the geekbench score is the same as before when i had 2gbs of ram :s, meh i got a massive discount on it.
Im not saying that Mac do not make good computers because in allot of ways they do, my big thing is I just dont like the operating system its self, and Im a gamer, allot of the games I play will not run on mac Or linux.
Never said sony wasnt over priced as well. They can afforde to charge the extra cash for a product with very weak hardware because of the fact that it is small. And in Apples case they can jack up all their price's because they are the only computers running that os. And if you say they charge that high because its built soo good. But the point of over priceing is that it doesnt cost them nearly as much to make it. Seeing how they are using the same casing and slow hardware.
@DrummerGS With the Sony Y 11.6, you get 3 times the computing/graphics horsepower of the macbook air for a lower price... How is that, from Mac Air's point of view, not overpriced?
I think people only hate on the C2D because it's outdated. Hardware has reached the point that we're no longer seeing leaps and bounds in speed from year to year, so using a couple year old processor doesn't mean we have a slow computer. And IMO the MBA really makes up for it with its 320m instead of Intel Integrated HD found on an i3 ULV. The point is, it's useless for a computer to try to out-perform the MBA with names (i3 vs C2D). The MBA is plenty fast despite its specs.
By targeting you mean them making a portable PC for their company.. then yes haha And people shouldnt be thinking they get what they pay for when they buy a mac. they are overpricing their products by alot. 13 inch computer with a core 2 duo and the same casing as the last gen.. for the same price as a envy 14 which has far better specs.. is silly.
