I think it actually works. The effect is clear, and sure it might be disputable weather it suits the film's overall mood. But consider the fact that we see him with a sunhat at Barbados, accompanied with a (otherwise pretty horrible) 90's disco-jam. It questions the and contrasts the atmosphere set for the rest of the film and it is a perfect ironic use of music for this scene.

How is it possible that this was going to be used as the ending song? Silence of the lambs came out 1990 but the sng scatman by scatman John wasn't released till 1994. So I beloved the guy who posted this vid just added this song. Just pointing that out that it's not real. Nevertheless it would be random if this song was included in the actual film ending
