I got rid of anything Shimano. It worked fine, but had trouble with the shift cables wearing out. One broke in less than 6 months. Had to replace the rear shifter because it jammed it anf broke it. Sorry, but this shifter is a very poor design.
ive had the ultegra version of this and the dura ace...in your hand they both feel identical..but the dura ace version has a crisp snap to it..either way they both chance the gears as fast as the other..i just wish they would find a way to tuck those damn cables! come on shimano its been near 20 years!! all this drama and the damn cables are still stickiung out!! hehe
just buy fkn dura not tia. just $300

:D
I just use the old saddle, bar and seatpost. It keeps my build costs reasonable while allowing me to get all of the good gear.

SHIMANO HELPS ON HILLS

Not really.
I bought another Record group from TotalCycling for $1200 USD with the older alloy crank.
That's only $100 or so more than a Dura-Ace 7800 group.
