  • hehehe - nice =D

  • cut a u shape in the front edge of those pails

  • I agree, you could improve the configuration of the wheel for much greater efficiency...maybe tilt the cups, cut out the back half, or use another design to make more of a "paddle" than a reservoir to catch the water...also why stop at 2? I say make a whole series of water wheels until you run out of height...every last bit counts, I bet you could triple your power output if you played around with it...Try to tap into as much of the flow energy and potential energy as you can.

  • Wouldn't you get a bit more power, if you tilted the cups?

  • 2.16 kwh, thats $0.25/day ur savin. after 10 years listening to that thing it'll prob pay for itself!

  • @lostintheapplasauce He may not have electricity available up on his mountain. I lived on a old farm from may till November that had no electricity. Cost $700 just for a power pole to get electricity in there. What do you do if you have no job because of a preexisting medical condition? Throw together this junk from a construction site and you got light and a small radio all night. When you have nothing radio is big entertainment...and recharge cell phone so you can get that job interview call.

  • if you were to cut notchs in the buckets opposite the way the water is hitting you would get more speed out of the wheel. ie the water is hitting the back of the bucket and slowing them down, it would not be a big speed gain but every little bit helps. good idea though

  • why doesnt anyone ever make a dual water wheel? Use the water from the first wheel to turn the 2nd wheel

  • How does it perform in winter, at -20 °centigrade?

  • Works pretty good under a load! Nice supplement.

Add a bit of solar, and you can make hho then electricity and fuel.

    Possibilities are endless.

  • How can I get your plans to build this??

    thank you

  • That doesn't look bad at all, I just wonder if the buckets will hold when you have a larger stream of water. Ever thought about adding a second waterwheel ?

Greets and pece from Holland, iT

  • lookes like it produces like 30-50 watts

  • @js111410

Very close, it puts out about 90watts, 2.16 kwh day. I live on the side of a mountain so it has a fair bit of momentum. More rain more watts, same with spring runoff.

  • How much juice do you get out of it?

  • what generator do you use? it appears to work at a very low rpm

  • @1stfreestuff

    It's a drive motor off a EBike 500 watt

  • ace!

  • Excellent! One of the few genuine 'free energy' videos on Youtube!
