Before I get pounced on, I know many people think the same way about Jimi, and while SRV was certainly not as innovative as Jimi, I think Stevie's playing is much cleaner and his vibratto is perhaps only a second best to Clapton. The rest of the body is hollow. Thats why you get that 'hollow' uber-thick overkilling sound. Very Unique and rare sound.

Almost 20 years I've played guitar now. Very, very few of those days have I not played at least 2 hours, and to this day I dream of this kind of talent. Stevie was hands down the single most talented individual to ever pick up a guitar. 2010 and I'm still saying "Unbelievable...."

I thought the guitar part and vocals sounded familiar-This is the version from Live Alive. But I guess they overdubbed a good portion of the album in the studio, which is why the keyboard part is different on the album.
@camaro69ss299hp Most of the overdubbing done to the Montreux recordings I think were done because of technical problems that they didn't have the time to fix at the time, since those performances are actually good. The other performances were overdubbed for mistakes.

I thought the guitar part and vocals sounded familiar-This is the version from Live Alive. But I guess they overdubbed a good portion of the album in the studio, which is why the keyboard part is different on the album.

@camaro69ss299hp Most of the overdubbing done to the Montreux recordings I think were done because of technical problems that they didn't have the time to fix at the time, since those performances are actually good. The other performances were overdubbed for mistakes.
