  • Absolute magic

  • Stevie...a self taught guitarist, he could not read a note.

    His talent was evident.

    RIP SRV.

  • @johnca619 All my favourite players were self taught... It says a lot.

ALSO, CHECK OUT THE MUSIC ON MY CHANNEL! IF YOU LIKE SRV, THEN I GUARANTEE YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!

  • I prefer the stratocaster sound!!!!!

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • @sili0 hamiltone custom made

  • I got to see him 3 times before he died. He was incredible. RIP man.

  • I think I left my mind somewhere around 4:20

  • TOMMY SHANNON ON THE FENDER BASS

DONT HEAR BASS BEING REFERRED AS FENDER BASS MUCH ANY MORE

ESPECICIALLY NOT FROM A JAZZ OUTFIT

  • This surely has to be one of the most epic guitar journeys of all time!

  • Just look at the the number one songs of 1985 and you will see how grateful we were that SRV and his band were putting out performances like this.

  • mastersound!

  • I gotta get an earring like that, I love you Stevie and miss you!!!

  • o redentor do blues elétrico!!! SRV!!!

  • yngwie malmsteen and richie blackmore disliked this...poor bastards

  • That's what i call MUSIC!!!

  • one beiber fan disliked this video.. SRV is the baddest guitar player ever .. hands down..

  • Instrumental with vocals

  • @mimimishima lol Isn't every song an instrumental with vocals ?

  • muzaklover78 couldn't agree with you more. we should go for a beer!

  • 300 ratings, 1 dislike, only a master could have that, Steve Ray isn't just another monster like Satriani, Carrol, Johnson, Malmsteen and many other virtuosos, HE IS THE BLUES SAVIOR AND MASTER

  • Nobody had complete and utter mastery of the electric guitar like SRV. He could make it do and sing whatever he damn well pleased. This man and guitar were one being. Before I get pounced on, I know many people think the same way about Jimi, and while SRV was certainly not as innovative as Jimi, I think Stevie's playing is much cleaner and his vibratto is perhaps only a second best to Clapton. Let the comments flow!

  • @muzaklover78 I'd say Clap is the ultimate corporate blues player, whatever that means. But he's second to Stevie in everything important, like feel, balls, attitude.

  • what is that guitar that he uses?? i love it, it looks siiiick

  • @jackslasho

Its a gift for billy gibbons

  • @DaVe112358132134 ahk, cheers :)

  • He used to play right across my apartment when I lived in Austin when he was alive. I sure do miss him. He came by the Eagles Nest Cafe one time and ate there. That was my cafe before I shut it down. I remember the days.

  • i didnt hear a big appluase so the crowd must have been really high cause that was epic!

  • @guitarplyr102 ...No man I'm glad you noticed that ! It's just because they are fucking rich Swiss bastard snobs that do not care about the music... I've been in Montreux many times and you just want to smack those swiss people there, I was at Santana, Buddy Guy, BB King and many people were leaving right at the end of the concert without doing any encore ! I was like WTF !! stay and cry for some more songs, assholes ! Montreux concerts are fine but are formatted for nice videos, not for people.

  • @F3FisGoodforYou oh. well at least the swiss make good cheese but they have bad musical taste.

  • wow

  • extremely sexy guitar

  • 6:11 most intense thing ever!

  • SRV spits on strap locks

  • Yngwie Malmsteen watched this.

  • @Zzsmile WTF? SRV has or will NEVER be gone!!!

  • amazing perfromance..it's hard to believe Stevie has been gone over 20 years.!

  • I was at a pawn shop in dallas the other day and this young black dude in very raggedly painter clothes picked up a strat and plugged in and started jamming this song, before too long he had a number of people around him some taking videos with their phones,he lives in pleasant grove and he is a truely gifted musician.

  • @piizzaefichi Amazing why people react by taking videos and photos instead of just enjoying the music. Hell, Robert Johnson is a legend and only 2 known photos of him exist

  • @Founderjay Main (also known as Hamiltone or the "Couldn't Stand the Weather" guitar) was a custom Fender Stratocaster-style guitar made for Vaughan by James Hamilton in Buffalo, NY. It was presented to Vaughan by James as a gift from Billy Gibbons on April 29, 1984.[26]

This guitar features a two-piece maple body and a "neck-through body" design. It also originally had EMG preamped pickups, but Vaughan didn't like the pickups in it. His next music video was about to be made, which was "Couldn

  • gotta love SRV.

  • Who dislike this this video?!?!?

I think it was by mistake.

    SRV rules.

This version is slower than other but it has more feeling and dark sound

  • why do all the amazing and soulful musicians have to die so young.

  • now that's what i'm talking about

  • @fenderplayed, what? lol

  • wow not playing with a strat.. surprised!!!

  • jesus lol. i bet jimmy hendrix would have shit if he would have met stevie ray vaughan. although stevie idolized hendrix, stevie in my opinion was WAY BETTER !

  • @mackeyf4L Jimi. * :b

  • this is the first time i have seen him play texas flood wiht his hamiltone

  • He's dressed like Woody from Toy Story! But I absolutely love him!

  • just a masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hundreds of years of musical analytics and still I wonder why this just sounds so good

  • @TheSkinwarrior: The guitar is a Hamiltone. Special designed for srv by Jim Hamiltone. You can't find the body apart cause it's one piece with neck. The neck goes straight into the body on a block of wood.

The rest of the body is hollow. Thats why you get that 'hollow' uber-thick overkilling sound. Very Unique and rare sound.

  • this is almost overkill

  • what kinda guitar is tht its beautiful obviously customed but where can i find a body like tht

  • WOW !!!!!!!! I want to cry! Chills

  • i ;ove the guitar hes using

  • Its Shame how he pass away. Only 35 He was so great he could play! SON

  • Its Shame how he pass away. Only 35 He was so great

  • these videos are effin sweet....thanks for the tunes on this working Monday. Have you ever seen a better guitar player?

  • One of the best versions...

  • the lyrics and guitar dont match up with his playing, this isnt the actual sound of this performance

  • @fendershed33 yessir it is i have the dvd

  • That's a man who could grow a beard.

  • hey check out rolandvids flooding down in texas its a new one hes played with albert collins buddy guy gave him his guitar and let him close his show hes toured with ac reed on the record om in the wrong business wich stevie ray is on and has played with albert collins dont miss out on this its just buy himself but youll see the same kinda thing this man is not a copy cat hes just bieng himself if they sound similiar so do alot of entertainers anyway check out his vids

  • Reece totally rocks this on keyboard. This might just be my favorite version because of the EVIL tone, and the atmosphere created by Reece's amazing piano backing.

  • It is still Floodin' Down In Texas.....

  • omg music for my soul.omg.

  • OMFG AMAZING

  • Spread the gospel !!!!!

  • He was sooo fucking wired during this performance, LOL, Fuck I miss this man

  • look out stevie is in the house

  • He used that guitar in the Cold Shot Video. .. . awesomeness

  • On top of awesome guitar playing he doesn't get the credit he deserves for having a powerful voice.

  • l e g e n d

  • my god i cant play that good with the dam guitar in front of me!..yet

  • At 5:55 the way his voice gave all that soul and passion...Thats my favorite part of this vid..the way he put soul into his guitar playing and singing

  • Incredible singer/musician! God gave him amazing talent! If this song and performance does nt get inside you and make your foot tap then you are dead. AWESOME STEVIE!

  • i am astonished...

  • Stevie Ray

    Rory Gallagher

    Albert Collins

    underrated geniuses

  • They couldn't have had a better drummer - Layton's playing is so easy, yet he's probably the most tasteful dummer I've heard. Instead of doing hundreds of notes, he just does one, but in such a right timing....

  • These camera men were tripping balls! Who wants to see a 20 second shot of the audience in the middle of a rippin' solo?

  • @twofingersmakes71 Captures the atmosphere. As long as we can hear the guitar...

  • Almost 20 years I've played guitar now. Very, very few of those days have I not played at least 2 hours, and to this day I dream of this kind of talent. Stevie was hands down the single most talented individual to ever pick up a guitar. 2010 and I'm still saying "Unbelievable...."

  • Blues vom feinsten!

  • " i didn't want to play after him" ...eric clapton

  • Jesus . . . he's playing it befuckinghind his back!

  • @weeeendog allways with Texas Flood

  • visited friends in LA a few months back and was introduced to this guy who id never heard of before, spent a lot of nights drinkin on my friends driveway to this very song.

this guy is amazing. such a loss.

    - a new fan from Britain

  • Hot damn, that SOB could play!

  • Never has been, never will be anyone to equal SRV.

He is unique. Not enough appreciate him.

  • @hoosier888 I agree he was very special... I hope to see him one day at the end =)

  • @hoosier888 Couldnt agree with you more! He offers himself completely to us on stage!

  • @hoosier888 Hendrix?

  • he didnt do drugs you dumbasses he was a very good texas blues guiatr player and a very good singer and put all his heart into his music R.I.P SRV always loved by the family

  • Jacob, he did do drugs heavily at one time, but had been clean & sober for 4 1/2 yrs when he died.

  • @JacobAlanRuckle you clearly have no idea about stevie if you think he never did drugs.......but he got clean and sober, well done stevie :) RIP

  • @JacobAlanRuckle If you love his music so much maybe you should read up on him, you will find that for a time (at this time) he was heavily into drugs. He did clean up though.

  • @JacobAlanRuckle The song "Life Like a Drop" was written about him by one of his band members about his drug and alcohol abuse. Listen to it,please.

  • @oldhippie1198 oops I meant" Life by the Drop"...sorry.....Maybe I'm on drugs.....*LOL*

  • @JacobAlanRuckle he did do some hard coke and shit... im noty saying hes not the greatest guitarist ever, cause he is, its just he did do some drugs

  • oh yeah baby

  • This version is very different from the others i've heard...I'm not sure I like it as much. I think its the sound of this guitar vs Number 1. That and i think he was starting to get into the drugs by this point...

  • wow the best bendings ever!!!!!!

  • he was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy into drugs at this point

  • i've tried it...i play football and basketball so i am pretty strong but every time i try to play behind my back my arms go dead after 1 min.

not only was he awesome at guitar but he was also strong as hell hahaha rip SRV!!!!!!

  • @bluesystratcat

Sooo true. I get sore arms instantly and even when i play behind my head. What a tank!

  • HOLY FUCK he just played that badass solo behind his back and effortlessly transitioned back.............damn

  • still a classic legend

  • Amazing. No more to say.

  • @SteSlash13 I totally agree. i love SRV =)

  • Which guitar does he use in this video?

  • He called it Main was a presant from billy gibbons of ZZ TOP, its a hamiltone.

  • Thanks.

  • R.I.P Stevie we miss you

  • Tommy shannon is such a weird man...

  • his bends are epic

  • ..................................Smooth

  • MAN THATS SMOOTH, i fucking loving his tone, the way he really fucking pulls the shit out of the strings when he bends

  • Serious trouble when Reese joined, no longer Double Trouble.

  • while he looks like a bedraggeld cat, he is still a charismatic and good musician

  • xD that end was funny reese wynans on the keyboards thommy shannon on the bass crish layton on the drums and im stevie ray and this is serious troubles xD

  • I thought the guitar part and vocals sounded familiar-This is the version from Live Alive. But I guess they overdubbed a good portion of the album in the studio, which is why the keyboard part is different on the album.

  • @camaro69ss299hp Most of the overdubbing done to the Montreux recordings I think were done because of technical problems that they didn't have the time to fix at the time, since those performances are actually good. The other performances were overdubbed for mistakes.

  • he should of used his fender stratocaster

o well he still sounds good

  • wat kind of guitar is tath
