Unfortunately modern barbers/people never grew up in a time where these kinds of hairstyles were the norm, so cutting and combing are inaccurate to how they actually did it. I used stuff called "Got2be Glued" it's a spiking glue but works great for pomps too and washes out way easier than the pomade.

you can use pomade for jelly rolls, slickbacks, mohawks, flattops,etc. Different pomades for different style. light pomades are better for slickbacks & rolls. Heavier pomades are better for flattops and pomps.

I've fallen asleep and gone swimming with my pomp and kept it without touching it once. But when i need a quick style I use High life or Cock Grease

Don' use Heavier pomades if you have longer hair, it will pull out your hair if you don't soften it before applying. it always gave me dandruff after a month and waay to sensitive of a scalp. But i can't quit. i've been greasy for 5 years and although my hairline is fine, i'm sure i'll be bald by the time I'm 27 lol.

@SYN411 you have to really rub it into your hair for a while until they disappear. but if flakes are a problem for you, you should try High Life's Voodoo Brew. It's geared towards darker hair, meaning no flakes :) check that stuff out.
