  • to me it looks like his front fork gave

  • i love all these videos eveyones gotta try to be cool and explained what happened...like they have any clue at all.

  • And THAT'S why you should always wear full gear, even if you're going slow!

  • Gloves.

  • its ok guys... dainese leathers loooove a good challenge =)

  • Here is another one at the same place.....Motorcycle Crash - GSXR 750 Lowsides on Mulholland Hwy....Youtube

  • @ylism Really? Fuckin go to guys channel he has a bunch of them. dick.

  • This looks like the same area of road, That some magazine reviewers, Just about wrecked at also, Because they where going to fast on a fairly flat road. Watch some the videos there here on Youtube. Look at all scrap marks, That are all over this part of the road. You can tell this happens allot here. There is another slide mark right above this guys in the dirt . Time 0.04 .Watch it in 720p FS for best results. I bet, if you ask the ones taking the videos, They could tell you some stories.

  • The angel it was filmed from, Makes it a little hard to tell how angled the coroner is. I could hear the foot pegs scraping on the road, The second time it scrapped he went down. It was like the tires where knocked lose, Of any traction. He may have been to fast because he was still increasing the throttle. When the scraps started. Maybe he did hit the front beaks too, Hard to tell. At least he had protective gear on. Don't think he was hurt to badly, I hope anyway. Just my 2 cents

  • "Rider said coming down too hard on the foot peg caused his bike to slide out"

.. not likely. The pegs on the SV folds up very high. I used to have an SV650S, and the pegs were never an issue.

  • @ukspizzaman They did scrap more then once, The foot pegs.

  • @ylism Yes I can hear it too, but the scraping itself didnt cause the bike to slide out. It looks like he was drifting a bit, then lost control. His riding position also looks a bit odd.. like he is hanging off with his ass, but still has the torso over the tank.

  • @ukspizzaman Take the angle of the the video. Riding to fast. Yes he was leaning to to the left side with his knee down, as is normal. Could have been sand, He could have changed the foot pegs, Many SV owner's do. There are many reasons. But on the 2nd scrap the foot peg did kick up a puff of road when he went down. This area of road is a dangerous place, Look at the guard rails, Or there would not be so many people taking videos & pictures. Plus the roads fairly flat there. Watch in 720p.. yl

  • i'm debating between the ninja 650r and the sv650, i like the leaning forward of the sv cause i sat on one... i never sat on the ninja 650r. BUT which bike is more user-friendly considering it will be my first bike? In terms of looks i love the sv look but the ninja is also good looking as well so it's kinda hard to decide. Performance is not an issue both are the same cc's and i probably wont have the skills or talent to bring these bikes to their maximum potential anyways!! Thanks in advance

  • @plehdehgame They are the same ccs but they are way different, sv is vtwin and the zx is inline 4. I'm not going to cast my opinion on which is better and bias you, both have different strong points. Now off you go to research on google...

  • @golferluke Speaking of researching on google, you might want to go do that.... Plehdegame is speaking of the Ninja 650R which IS a v-twin just like the SV 650. The Ninja 650R IS NOT a ZX-6R which is a 600cc in line 4 cylinder. Thanks, now off you go to research on google.....XD

  • @wberrier08

Jesus Christ people. Okay, the 650R is NOT a V-twin. It is two cylinders but they are in parallel. The information on the engine is available right on the freaking Kawasaki website. Both of you fools need to learn how to use Google. It makes no sense to get factual information of a motorcycle incorrect when it takes all of 5 seconds to double check.

  • @opmike343 I think the bike is an SV650 twin.

  • that looks something like one of my previous crashes only mine flipped and my tank got smashed in and the subframe had to be replaced. And of course some beautiful scars.

  • I'd take a lowside over a highside any day of the week.

  • I have not yet gotten my moto license but i just started today, and i was looking at some bikes to be my first one. A lot of people are recommending the ninja 205r. Many others say you can learn just as good as you can on a sv650 while having a lot more of fun for a long time to come. I have no riding experience whatsoever but i can say that im good at bicycling (not sure if that means anything lol). Would the sv650 be too much power? My uncle says it will, he used to ride dirt bikes.

  • @plehdehgame It all depends on what you can handle and what you can fit on. For me, the 250 is way to small. My size won't actually allow me to get anything under a 750 at the very least if I stick with sportbikes. Just learn to control the bike and don't do anything stupid with it. You should be fine. Nobody else can tell you what you will like, you have to decide that for yourself. Just remember, the larger the bike you get the easier it is to make a mistake. To a certain extent.

  • @plehdehgame go to a dealer and just sit on some of the bikes there. essentially just get whatever fits you. i would say that if you get a smaller bike you're going to progress faster when learning. lighter weight+ less intimidating power+ less expensive when you drop it, will allow you to be alot more confident on the bike which will allow you to get the basics quicker than with a bigger bike. but again as i said before, get what fits you best, if u feel comfortable on 600 get it. ride safe bro

  • pro gear, cheap bike. nice work man

i'd like to note that whilst the sv650 is cheap, it is an excellent bike in the right hands

  • I own a sv650. they are great bikes. This guy actually hit his pegs twice. The second time low sided him. This road isn't cursed. It looks like one of the best roads to ride fast on the street.

  • how many crash videos on mulholland hwy man fuck this road this bitch is cursed

  • His helmet COMPLETELY saved his face from nasty scars

  • @varanman Correct. Especially those Harley guys with their T shirt, Bandana, and blue jean riding gear. Full face helmet, leather jacket, suit armor, boots, gloves, certainly pay off, but you still risk death and broken bones. Avoiding a crash is done by controlling your speed for conditions, including your limitations as a rider, riding defensively and executing the proper maneuvers, unlike this guy that even bought the wrong bike for this style of riding. SV650 is not a CBR/GSXR.

  • lolz..that did not seem to bad

  • I love my SV650s.... this video makes me cringe every time...

  • 90% of riders make this mistake and slow down with the front brake in the middle of the turn. Slow - Look - Press - Roll. Slow before you hit the corner, Look through the corner, Press in the direction you want the bike to go and Roll on the throttle through the entire corner. This is what keeps the bike upright thoughout the turn. Anyone of these steps missed and this is what happens.

  • @JayzBeerz I'm not convinced he touched his front brake as the rpm increases as he loses traction, so he would have rolled off the throttle first. I think he just laid it down way too far and didn't get off the seat and put a knee down at that speed. You're right that he didn't enter Slow, but to enter fast, you got to slide your ass off the bike and put your chin down to the bar end on the inside, and THAT keeps the bike upright. Your text book answer is limited.

  • hahaahahaha pity he didnt rip the hole out of his arse

  • Should seriously consider putting a bunch of old matresses down there to save all the bikes that biff that corner

  • You can see him tuen the front wheel slightly just before it goes, bad move.

  • why does everyone crash on this turn? i will never go on that turn, seems fkn cursed lol

  • If he had been wearing a t-shirt he wouldn't have any nipples now xD Smart enough to wear a proper gear.

  • @damo19801978 i was talking about the lack of counter steering, if he had not turned the front tire into the turn as the rear end slides out, he'd been one less damaged bike. What do you mean by "on more rear tire"? Weight placement just increases the normal force on the tire, allowing a greater frictional force = more lean. Tire design influences the contact patch size at said lean angle, not weight placement. Were you trying to give me a lesson on turning, or just sound like a smartass?

  • wrong bike!

  • Watching this makes me scared to want to buy my SV650 that I been wanting to get, I wonder if the pegs are to low.

  • @mikey4u1984 I assure you, the pegs are not too low. Though I have the SV650s (sport model) the pegs on the standard are not too low either. The SV650s is an awesome bike and it is superb in the corners!

  • @topdoglex Have you driven in some tight spots like that? I saw some other guy in one of these videos and he takes that same turn quite smoothly. I really want the SV I am just wondering if its a good newbie bike.

  • @mikey4u1984 I've taken some pretty tight turns on my SV and never touched the pegs or anything. Now i haven't taken any super high speed turns that would require me to put my knee down either. However, the SV is made for cornering. The SV is a great bike to learn one. It's powerful enough to hang in there and like I said, it's built with cornering in mind.

  • learning to countersteer might've helped this guy out, guess that's why the old adage of learning in the dirt first still applies.

  • Looks like he brakes with the rear to me..

  • He used the front brake that's why he fell...

  • WTF how many people crash on this corner ? I have seen at least 4 video of this same place every one of them people low siding it,you would think they would get the message and just save them selves to bother

  • @HOOLIGINGVGFFG well hundreds, of people will ride this road in a day. I can assume he is been taping for quite a while now. Out of the thousands that ride that road, he only has about 20, maybe less, vids of crashes. Thats a very small minority. I think a few people crashing isn't gonna stop the masses of people from riding such a great road. There are hundreds of freeway crashes. No one is out there to video tape them but you still ride the freeway despite how many crashes happen right?

  • OMG, this is a killer road. A lot of acidents at the same spot

  • @Ubarin Some people are camera shy

  • Gomme di merda

  • no drift? :-D :-D

  • it just leaned too far in on fast band thats the peg tilts back a lot so it wasn't. if it was infact the peg that sex that still answers that he leaned too far

  • ive been on this road before on my sv and it is not as easy as people think. and this curve is not the worst one coming up. their r tighter ones and the expect more lean on ur bike. on this turn it feels like ur side ways and if u dont have enough speed u would feel unstable because of the uphill sideways feeling the road gives the rider. this is why people crash, because they're going to slow and leaning the bike to much, or too fast and leaning it to hard.

  • He didn't come down too hard on the foot peg . his brakes did .

  • IDIOT!!

  • it seems to me the same turn of many other accident. it should be really slippery!!

  • I saw a lot of bike crashes video and I believe that many falls were caused by inexperienced drivers ; why they lean so much without driving the bike during the bend with their body ; they were just sitting and waiting.

  • @hintmint88 Thank you Capt. Obvious!

  • @buzzysonofbutch

I come from Italy and for me it's so astonishing to see this type of crashes because in our winding and bumpy roads you must ride well or you fall in 35 meters :-D

  • lowside

  • jeez it happened so fast i actually jumped in my seat alittle

  • These videos never get old. If I lived in Cali I'd just spend my saturdays watching people crash on mulholland.

  • @Greekguy824 Wow was there really that many crashes?

  • what a dumbass , you hang off the bike to keep it more vertical not so that you can lean it over more

  • do you guys put oul on this curve??? god there are LOAADDSSS of crashes here!

  • @PygoManiac I'd agree, it looks like a lowside to me.

  • Did he lowside? I saw the rear giving away first.

  • @PygoManiac Look up the meaning before posting commets, and you might sound like you know what you are taking about.

  • What is with this section of Mulholland? Most of the crashes seem to be here. Is it decreasing radius, sand, or just inexperience?

  • crashed my cobra mustang on that turn

  • @FordSVT1313 its... a mustang... cobra....

not a cobra mustang. cobra is the package of the mustang model.

for an svt owner, your knida dumb

  • @xKILLZONAx oh sorry mr word police. go fuck yourself. I was just saying i spun my car on that turn as well as many other people.

  • @xKILLZONAx Are you kiding me? making cod4 videos? Your a immature piece of shit

  • @xKILLZONAx You spelled kinda wrong dipshit. For a COD playing douche... wait, i guess you're as stupid as you should be.

  • I hate falling off bikes. It sucks!!

  • @TheRickRod Mate... i dont think anyone like to

    lol

  • @MarineMan405 His and your comment made me laugh - And i agree :D

  • I wish they didn't use so many guard rails on Mulholland......that would take care of the issue with bikes going up and down all day.....more death=good for crotch rockets!!

  • no entiendo como se pueden caer tanto ahi... no se ve que hagan nada raro...el asfalto? o echan aceite en la esa curva pa hacer los videos, porque se ponen todos los camaras ahi...

  • them frame sliders only work on pavement haha, not so good in dirt and gravel

  • Looks like the other biker took his attention for a split second. Glad he was ok.

  • always better a lowsider than a highsider...That plus leathers plus lucky not to hit an object=no scars

  • @razorguitarist yeah only straight line crash i've seen are tank slappers caused by small objects on the road

  • get the road fixed, or put a slow down sign! ... same side of the road! same curve and same guard rail!...

have u ever wonder why cameramen have great angles on their shots?

    they know!

have pity on the riders! please...

  • Do you just sit and wait for people to crash on this road? Because you have so many clips of people crashing on this road.

  • does every time people crash there

  • You'd think, since there are hundreds of videos of people highsiding at that very turn, that people would have learned by now. Apparently not.

  • @CoonDawgity This was one of the first videos to be posted of failures at this turn so by now I hope so lol

  • lots of crashes on Mulholland Hwy , where is this place ?? interesting ,nd always there is ppl to help crashed ones..!!!!

  • @alzym1 Here in Malibu California.! :)

  • @midnightassassin13 thx for answer ;)

  • @alzym1 muholland highway, just off kanan, "the snake" where the look out is

  • Full face FTW on that one. I really want to get a 3/4, but it's shit like that says forget it.

  • fix the bike. climb back on

  • thats a tough turn believe it or not. Its called the snake on mulholland highway in So Cal. Theres a photographer there every weekend so people take it too far. Take it down a notch and bring your bike home in one piece.

  • looks like the the front wheel just randomly bent different

  • hey guys where is this location at ??? I'm gonna open motorcycle parts store right there, business should be booming. LOL

  • @vaidis Make it more like business will be sliding right to your garage door. Your greetings * Thank You for sliding into Vaidis Motorcycle Garage, now please take a seat as we fix your bike, and please do help your self to some of our great famous Mulholland Tea *

  • @vaidis a section of Mulholland Hwy called "The Snake" in Cornell, CA near Malibu and the famous Rockstore.

  • This would be in the car and at this speed certainly could not happen ... :-D

  • Leathers for the win!

  • its that easy to slip. so dangerous yet worth it

  • he was testing his riding gears i guess

  • uh.. leaning way too much for your slow speed...

  • またもや、Mulholand の変形ガードレールコーナー (ここのギャラリーコーナーなのかねぇ) Lowside頻発

  • Being too uptight and attempting to manhandle the bike through a corner.

That, and thinking a sv650 is a racingbike, caught this fella out!

  • @skatepeak The sv650 is a very successful club race bike.

  • leathers! FTW!

  • looks like he's been watching too many racers who can put their bikes right down on a nice clean race track, not the thing to do on ordinary roads on road tyres.

  • Looks like it wasn't the peg, he dumped the front tire. The front tire isn't as wide as the back, duh, so it can't lean as far without turning into curve sharp enough.

  • Now you know why some of us call that exact spot "the shooting gallery".

  • thats why you wear full face helment

  • @bdbandit2001 that's why? what's why? nothing happened to his face... I'm just saying that maybe you didn't think that post through entirely. Like maybe you just wanted to write something condescending. do do doo do do doo doooouche BAG

  • @bdbandit2001 that's why? what's why? nothing happened to his face... I'm just saying that maybe you didn't think that post through entirely. Like maybe you just wanted to write something condescending. do do doo do do doo doooouche BAG I'm just kidding I love you

  • squid filter corner.. maybe something to with the road surface in that spot.

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh '-'

  • There's like 40 videos of lowsides on this corner. Didn't someone call it the squid filter? :) I look forward to lowsiding here one day. ;)

  • nice job, stooge!

  • Leaning too far + over banked corner = fail

  • i think there are like 4 videos of low sides on this turn!

  • And this is why we wear riding gear.

  • oh-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ooo---h!

  • DUDE!!! This corner is the worst for some reason....This is around the 4th video ive seen a crash on!! Crazy. I think if you took it at 20 mph you would still bust your ass, lol XD Scary...

  • @NaSdAt63 Not likely, The high speed photos showed me going 47mph right before I dragged the pegged. 30mph is very easy to do on this corner.

  • @eoyourmom Oh, haha, I'm not serious with the 20mph thing. There were just a lot of videos showing crashes on this corner. Are most wrecks due to the shape of the corner? For example, is there a 'dip' in the road that may cause the front tire to slide out or is there some fine sand or gravel on the road? Or are riders going a little 'too hard' into the corner and just wipe out? And nice on draggin' the pegs!

  • @NaSdAt63 Well it has a camber change about mid way through the corner. So if you are trying to go around the corner with any speed you have to have the proper body position or the camber change takes what little lean you have left, at least for the smaller bikes. Some of the bigger bikes that go down here are because of throttle choppiness or inexperience. Mine was a combination of inexperience and bad body position.

  • I'm new to bikes too, when does lowside and highside occure?

  • @Margalus89 lowside is when you bottom out the bike in a corner as in this case where the peg hit & lifted the bike off the tires. highside occurs when there is too much acceleration or braking on the back tire (whilst leaning) causing it to slide out in a drift, tho this can be controlled with very fast and skilled responses, if you let off the gas or brake too much the back tire will regain grip and violently correct itself throwing your ass over the handlebars or over the outside of the lean.

  • @seanalexanderdurand so to avoid the highside i should arrive at every turn with the right speed preventing me to need to brake(and accelerate too much when finishing it), for the lowside i shold just watch out my front tire not to "close" too much right?

  • @Margalus89 yup it is always best to slow down before the turn and accelerate through it and more as you straighten up and out of the turn to level the suspension. but the reason why people correct the gas or braking right before a highside is because you will lowside if the back goes out too far. so they try to avoid one accident causing a worse one pretty much.

but dont go through the corner with nothing.. engine braking will effect your bike in a corner which is why you have to gas a little.

  • @Bikerboy1137 ok so i'll just try not to run too much before curves and not to keep the gas at zero while turning, this way i should avoid both high and lowsides :)

  • @Margalus89 (this is bikeboy1137 forgot to switch the account back haha). and yezzz, find the nice little balance point and you'll be fine. but you're biggest problems as a motorcyclist are the idiots in the steel cages. just don't do stupid shit. always respect the bike and she will respect you!! :)

  • @seanalexanderdurand yeah that's what i'll do when i'l get mine. I'll try to know her the best i can :)

  • man good thing he had on leathers and a helmet he would have had pretty rosey cheeks from that one.

  • thats why they put the knee when racing so u wont get out of tire

  • well that was silly.. to fast mate

  • ow... nice scenery!!!

  • His face would have cheese grated if he wasn't in a full face helmet.

  • doing my best to learn from all these crash videos! im learning to ride and there is SOOOO much more to it then driving a car. ride safe everyone, and BE LUCKY!

  • its almost as if in a left corner these guys turn the handlebars left and pull directly opposite what countersteering is about Tire compound type a factor ?

This hanging off the bike improperly upsetting the balance and riding geometry for that lean angle

  • lean it more . . . hah hah hah hah!

  • I just watched about five vids of Mulholland hwy and it seems that everybody crashes around that same spot. the most common thing i keep seeing is poor riding posture, going too low, dragging metal causing a tripod effect, combined with choppy throttle. wow, if some of these riders go to palomar mountain like that, they will surely die...

  • And just for reading! Pick up keith Codes book. A twist of the wrist 1&2 lots of info in those pages! I read those books yrs ago and its info that you will use forever on a bike.

  • 6. Have confidence in your tires/bike. 9 outta 10 the bike can make that turn no sweat! Its the rider who can.

    7. Do a ride through your fav back roads first, before turning into Colin Edwards! We have come across a downed tree on a good path.Without the ride through it would have been a bad day.

8.Throttle control ( TRY TO MASTER IT)

9.stretch and relax before the ride, you need to concentrate! ( no I-pod)

10.Ride your ride! Your not going to be able to keep up with a dude that rode for yrs!

  • Ok guy's its clear from the posts that its a ton of noobs on here. So in a effort to keep all of us who know how to ride ins down here's some tip for the noobs!

1 Get your breaking done early!

2 Look through the turn, look where you want the bike to go!

3 Leave reserve in the turn! always have a out ( more lean/ less lean and trail breaking!

4 Dont target fixate,9 outta 10 your gonna hit what your looking at!

5 Don't panic! your brain just locks up!

  • Who's the retard that said pressure on the pegs does nothing? Dude just sell your bike now, because your one corner away from making my insurance go up! lol

  • @1EVILZ06 hi im affriad its a myth aboyut putting pressure on the pegs it doesnt work becuas ewheny ou apply pressure on the foot peg you automatic countersteer whcih gives you the foot peg feeling so go try it tou and you get what i mean

  • @TcMoment yep agreed. I used to think maybe otherwise.

  • is someone putting oil there or what? doesnt seem that much of a curve, weird they all lowdide on the same spot...

  • a sv doesnt have much ground clearance, i noticed that when i was preacticing kneedowns for the first times -.-

  • Looks like you just hit your pegs

  • LMAO pressure on the pegs has absolutely no effect on steering . Learn too ride and learn what countersteering is. I can tell by watching you crash you have no clue

  • @weedtastic yah most foot pegs fold up if the touch the ground

  • @weedtastic yeah countersteering more would induce more lean, you can hear his peg scraping, more lean would have ended with the same outcome, think before you comment. You might actually sound knowledgeable

  • @weedtastic Saying pressure on pegs has no effect on cornering is just idiotic. Next time you are riding your bike (if you even have one) let go of the handle bars and stomp on one peg, lemme know if you keep going straight. Also if you put all your weight on the inside peg it pushes the rear tire out more. Which is why they say if you weight the inside peg as well you will experience a whole new level of traction. I still say in this vid pegs scraped and you got levered over.

  • @weedtastic LOL. i know how to counter steer. when this happened i had shitty body position + weighted inside more vs outside peg. yes my peg levered me over after i had panicked from it scrapping unexpectedly and tried to correct then reached the camber change and had to lean it back over again. had i proper body position this would not have happened. i know how to ride on the streets, its riding aggressively in the canyons that is my weak point.

  • good thing he was wearing a helmet. He kind of head butted the pavement

  • @grrfsrip i never even felt that but yeah my chin bar had a nice pavement scrape on it. wearing a helmet saved my skull/life because in march a car hit me after failing to yield and i went flying landing on my leg(broken femur and toes), my ribs(cracked), and my head(contusion). if only i had worn boots that night though. fucking sneakers!

  • @eoyourmom Fuck man! your femur? How's that coming along for you? That's the worst long bone to break. Hope you've healed up fine. :)

  • @grrfsrip well it hurts constantly but has gone from mind shatteringly sharp to just a dull throb when i put weight or move it. i am walking unassisted again so yay me! the worst part is having my bike destroyed by the idiot :,-(

  • LOL do you just sit there and wait for people to crash??? Nice work !!! see you next weekend!!

  • lube up the road and film em crash Priceless!!!

  • lucky the rider is fat therefore he sticks better to the ground hope he's ok.

  • thats call bad body position and foot position - I can get nasty lean angle and never scrape anything

  • Is there something special with the road surface or why they crash all @this point of the track?

  • The biggest thing that all of these crashes have in common is misjudgement of the curve and inappropriate attack angle. Everyone comes in too fast and too shallow, overbrakes and then things go to hell afterward.

  • This has happened to me, I got too low in the turn, the peg bottomed out and levered the tire causing a loss of traction.

  • Thats why riding with a full face helmet is the only way to ride.

  • What is wrong with road?

  • Ouch, thats a nice white Dainese jacket too.

  • Looks like the guy was pusshing down on the front just a litle too much and left the rear unnatended maybe sliding the butt all the way back on the seat would give the rear a litle more traction

  • many bikers underestimate how long each curve is and how sharp they are too. I believe thats the cause of the crashes

  • Twitchy on the lean..Keep it in one motion, and dont get too greedy on the lean .
