yup, u can run anything midi to the MPC or MV, U kind of have over kill with those 2 sequencers.. When u get the 8800 ur gonna trip on the ease.. I just sent mine back to get the scren replaced, but it's a monster....
Tx bro, u can use any keyboard that has midi for a slave (the MV is the sequencer) and any keyboard with a midi and a sequencer for the master (MV for beats n f/x).. The Motif is cool, thats a nice set up

I might have a better idea for you. It's called 'editorkeys'. It's these vinyl stickers that go on your keyboard. It costs like 16 dollars or something. You won't have to get a separate keyboard for the shortcuts. In my latest vid you can see them briefly (though I have them for cubase)
the sound from track 1 should be sticking and not changing! is there a certain mode i have to be in on the es when recording to the mpc? when i change tracks on the mpc do i have to do something on the es too?
I have my mpc2000 and a motif es6 hooked through midi, jus like you have. When i record lets say a synth sound in seq 1,track 1,midi 1a,its fine,the real problem is when i change to track 2 midi 2a and i scroll through the voices on the es trying to find another sound to add to track 1,the sound from track 1(my synth) is changing to watever im scrolling through on the es.

I don't have a es but it sounds like you should change the midi channel on track 2 to channel 2 and so on.
Could be wrong, it seems logical to me.
