@sandm827 this was a 1959 hit by Phil Phillips, which you can find here on youtube, the Honeydrippers simply covered it later. Frank Zappa also appeared in the Honeydrippers video of this song, and if you know how Zappa was, you'd know that he was one of the most anti-establishment musicians ever, always true to his art. He wouldn't have associated himself with "studio exec BS" as you put it. So go ahead and slam Plant and Zappa if you want, it's your prerogative.

I love the original, as well as many remakes of this song. I can assume that Plant had nothing to do with this production or Orchestral arrangement of this version. Making it studio exec BS. Being an avid Plant fan i Know he did not have the Musical ability to write music for strings and you can tell he didnt put much of his time in this song. Its NOT HIM
