Hema's Kuchipudi is far far better than her Bharathanatyam.I'm surprised.I thought she was just a mediocre dancer,but this kuchipudi item has completely changed my mind.
she does kuchipudi a lot better than bharatanatyam.. good for how... however nowadays, what she does doesn't really belong to any particular style. plus her daughters come along doing odissi and all other sort of gliding dances!
I don't think the dance is Kuchipudi. It is Baratnatyam. She hails from Srirangam and in Tamilnadu, I don't think kuchipudi thought. I am 100% sure this is bharatnatyam and she is a trained on that.

She is a contemporary of other grea performers like Sobha Naidu and manju Bhargavi, in Dr. vempati's famous Kuchipudi Art Academy in madras. She is dancing in the Vempati baani of Kuchipudi to "brindavana nilaye". before she was an actress, she toured with Dr. Vempati's troupe all over the world, giving Kuchipudi performances! :)
@rdhinakar yeah if that was bharatnatyam, nobody would have let her on stage. while it is really good technique for kuchipudi, in bharatanatyam, which has different style conventions, it would be *terrible*...
