@hanggliderrider Apparently the same pilot crashed that same jet 2 weeks later killing himself and 3 others onboard. Somewhere on the web is a thread w/ the details.
Uffffff very very very fast and close, ASK! A delta wing can echo on the radar of a fighter bomber or another because of not being what we are seeing this video of pure luck
This could have all been avoided if this prick would have just read the FAA FAR Part 103. Obviously clear that he wasn't suppose to be in that air space.
@chimandude Yes cause that makes sense. So you feel it's a problem that I'm concerned with detail, well educated, formal, and want to make sure others are as informed as I am. Yes that must make a me a moron. Are you always this stupid? Or did you just make a special effort today?
@psiewert83 < Don't get me wrong, your Pedantic Behavior is funny and not a problem for me... It is what one would expect from a Mr. Do-Good 500hr Flight instructor, A Freshman, or any other other insecure Neophyte...
@psiewert83 wow, do hangliders have nav/com radios and transponders these days? Geez everything's so sophisticated anymore, sure miss the simple days!
@psiewert83 All hang gliding flight spots have to be approved by the United States Hang Gliding Association (USHGA). These spots are no fly zones below a certain altitude. If this man went off to a random spot and didn't check the local flight regulations it's his fault. Additionally, you don't report your flight AFTER you already take off dumbass. You call it in and have to get it approved before you leave. Also there is no way his flight would have ever been approved there.
As you should know, plane pilots radio their positions, altitudes and intentions all the time. If you do the same, you both know you're in the same area and modify your flight paths to increase distances and reduce chances of collisions. Knowing in advance is the only way to avoid this danger. Only aircraft radios can help and it is why they exist in the first place.
@MrCorvairboy That would actually help a lot. UNICOM does something similar to that but in a more detailed fashion, stating to location, and what they are doing. Therefore, reducing the amount of midair crashes from useful information passed off by pilots.
whoa cool!

@davetileguy you wanted a 6 minute vid where you would see boring gliding the whole time and then the actual jet footage at the end?

Captain: "Sir, I have reports of an unidentified flying object. Send a man up there to find what it is."
Aic: "Yes, sir."
...
Pilot: "I got a visual. Requesting to fire missiles."
Captain: "Request granted. You May fire on command."
Pilot: "What the @#$%? It's just some guy on an air glider!"
Captain: "Abort! Abort! Don't launch those missiles! Just wave and act like this never happened!"
Pilot: "Yes, sir."
Hang glider: "What the @#$%?!"

If the dubmass hang glider would report his flight route there wouldnt have been an issue.

@psiewert83 yes cause you can report your route when you spend most of the time looking for thermals

Wow, very close. That's why aircraft radios should be used in hang gliding. Impossible to avoid a collision with this with visual alone.
