  • It's a girl thing. Not singing in the bathroom, but holding hands while singing in the bathroom. This is one of my favorite youtube music recordings. The piece is good, the sound is good, the voices are good, and the staging is good. Thanks for the intimate music moment.

Youtube hopefuls be careful where you record and listen to what comes out. There has been some good music ruined by bad recording and ecoustics.

  • beautiful :)

  • This is beautiful. Wonderful job ladies

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • Amazing :)

  • Just amazing!

  • im doing this song to try out for state honors choir, im soprano 1 and i am so nervous!

  • very nice, but WHY did you have to do it in the shitter?

  • @mrbubetube Because the echo makes you sounds better.

  • @DAisbetter Yes, but what about the air quality? Doesn't that have a negative effect on your voice and inspiration? And what about the location? That isn't exactly considered a holy place to be singing sacred choral music. Or is that a church bathroom?

  • @mrbubetube You do bring up a valid point. Maybe they had no other place to practice? Perhaps it was a church bathroom and an exceedingly clean bathroom. We never know.

  • @DAisbetter girl on the left looks like she's going to puke

  • @mrbubetube She's pushing on her diaphragm to help get the lower notes.

  • @DAisbetter another reason is that she is concentraiting on one spot so she can remember the notes and lyrics

  • Bravo~~bello~~~

  • hahahahahahah!

Best place singers enjoy themselves! :)

    You ladies sing beautiful, though.

A little bit funny to see you singing very seriously

in the most sacred place. ;)

  • Beautiful things can be found in the bathrooms?! JK AMAZING! I also sang this song as a soprano!

  • playing the trombone trio version of this song :)

  • very precise. good work, ladies. did take much time to practice i guess...

  • we're singing this for our spring concert and it's killing us.. this helped a lot thanks you ladies are amazing

  • I needed to hear the Soprano II part for a festival on friday and this helped me SO MUCH to tune with! Thank you girls! Beautiful job!

  • Beautiful ladies! I'm singing the Sop1 w/ a women's choir & fell in love w/ this piece.

  • that was inspiration! my choir class is singing this as well and i will be sure to show this.

  • Not only is the singing absolutely ethereal, but that is the cleanest public bathroom I've ever seen! =]

  • sop1 is too operatic. the vibrato is too heavy. other than that it was entertaining.

  • Beautifully done!

  • I think she has down syndrome. She's actually kind of pretty.

  • @AndyHanturd

She doesn't have down syndrome. Get your eyes checked.

  • @Pielettie

And you know because? Okay maybe she was just acting fairly strange for absolutely no reason.

  • This is great! :D

  • Beautiful! Great job, Ladies!

  • Goosebumps!!WOW..great job girls!!

  • in the bathroom, no less...

  • the 1st soprano is retarded

  • sorry girls this is fairly awful - listen to All Angels version

  • the middle voice seems like she's just goin at it like a solo...

it sticks out quite a bit...

  • ys rehearse where ya gotta rehearse!!

  • LOVE IT! Great job girls. True musicians can perform anywhere-- especially in a bathroom. Y'all rock! :)

  • Good voices. But who had the idea to make that video on a public toilet? :-)

  • Beautiful individual voices. Except that the soprano I's tone gets too covered at times and distorts the vowels.....singing pure vowels throughout the entire voice is one of the keys to good classical singing. Love ya! bye.

  • im a baritone and i know all 3 parts to this song, i love to sing them all

  • Beautiful rendition ladies!!! :D A couple of girls and I just performed this for our recital!

  • Amazing beauty, thanks

  • Thank you ladies. I am singing this in June, the alto part. I was having so much trouble with a certain part of it. I now have it because of watching the alto perform. Thank you again.

  • This is so good!!!!!!!

  • nice,very nice!!! I love You all

  • This gave me chills!! Very well done.

  • Really, this is the best recording of this piece on YouTube. Congratulations, ladies.

  • the first soprano keeps taking breaths after every whence commeth.

it makes it sound really bad

we're getting judge by our breath support :/

  • I love that you are singing this beautiful song in the BATHROOM! :)

I use this all the time when practicing for my upcoming concert. You blend beautifully - congrats on your perfect score!

  • we sang this in my choir last year...i miss it so.

  • I stopped this after about 10 seconds.... you girls have very clean sound and beautiful vowels, but your excessive use of vibrato ruins it. please train yourselves to stay on one consistent pitch, it sounds much much better.

  • Sheldrake you are crazy. Their pitch is just fine. Loved it!

  • @Laenee1 by "consistent pitch," I didn't mean that they were out of tune. I meant that a lot of the time, their voices vibrate in a way that distracts from the beauty of the music. Vibrato is not pleasing to the ear.

  • @sheldrake123 Their vibrato is perfectly fine to the ears.

  • @CursiveType I'm glad you think so. However, your opinion does not change mine.

  • @sheldrake123 what do you mean vibrato isn't pleasing to the ears?

i guess if it's unnatural, forced. other than that, it's nice. :)

  • I want to sing this so bad now

  • seriously, can u guys not sing so beautifully next time?

i really can't stop listening to this. its now over 30 times it feels like.

i jsut sit here doing my homework and every minute and 46 seconds, i press replay.

i want to stop but i cant. jsut dont sing as good next time.

  • we r doing this for the womens choir im in at school

  • the choir im in are working on this song, its gorgeous,i fell in love with it the first time we sight read it =]

  • the altos girl doesn't look like she's getting into it

  • I'm in the Philadelphia Boys Choir and am singing sop.2 as a trio

  • 1st soparano wasnt as clear but still good!!!!

Norview chorus is singing this peice for festival!

  • i sung this at camp before my voice changed :] i was a soprano 1, but now i'm a tenor 2. I wish men could sing this, it's my favorite!

  • OMG IM SINGING THIS SONG!! MY COLLEGE IS PEFORMING ELIJAH AND IM THE HIGH SOPRANO ANGEL....only, we are having six angels singing this, rather than just three...

  • beautiful!

I'm singing this for my solo and ensemble, hope it goes that well!! :D

  • That was beautiful. =D

  • Amazing

  • You deserved a perfect score! I have been listening to lots of versions of "Lift Thine Eyes" today as well as other bits of Mendelssohn's Elijah. This is my favorite

    version of this on YouTube!

  • i sung this song at a carol concert

  • im doing this in a trombone trio. lol. good job!

  • i liked the ist soprano, but this performance seemed a bit draggy. but it was good. i love this song

  • O-M-G!!!! THIS is for whom Mendelssohn wrote the trio; Not a choir but rather 3 soloists!!. Alto, strong strong strong, all I have to say. SopI, you remind me of Emma Kirkby. SopII, wow I can't tell when you're singing; You blend in sooo well and fool the

ear: THIS is Good. Good job girls!!

  • OMGOSH! This is great :D!

  • extremly strong alto!!!!! get it girl

  • I've sung this with "The Australian Boys Choir" before, but obviously, we never had any female singers in it. This sounds lovely. The acoustics of that bathroom are really good as well. :P

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • We're singing this song in our high school choir (I know it's not the same ^^; ) and I always have trouble hitting the really high notes (I'm a soprano 1, and there's only two of us in the entire choir). Any tips?

  • I'm a sop 1 as well. Vocal chords are muscles, and so what helps these and any other muscles includes: getting enough sleep and plenty of food, and speak softly at least 24 hrs prior to performing (but sing normally during that time). Hope this helps.

  • Brava, Brava, Brava!!!! I have never heard this except with the boys "angel choir" but this is much better -- tremendous!!

  • omfg this is beautiful!

  • Amazing!

  • Gorgeous! The blend is magnificent.

  • good job!!!!! My womens chorus is singing that as one of our songs for LGPE and our the spring concert. i am a second soprano like the girl in the middle, but I started as a first soprano and my chorus instructor decided the 2nds needed help and they did so thats where I stand...

  • awesome!

  • wow girls. this is awesome. nice lines, great weaving of the parts.

  • I can see why you got a perfect score ;) Awesome job!

  • You guys did this so beautifully! It was such a treat getting to hear it in chorale. I can't believe you filmed it in the bathroom though XD Haha I guess they did have really good reverb though.

  • Thanks a lot!...I had a gorgeous nostalgic moment.

Recuerdo haber hecho ese tema cuando era niño, en un buen coro. Además de la nostalgia, sus voces me han estremecido. Espero que sigan juntas, haciendo música.

  • im an alto and doing this in chorus now. we only got through like three lines in this song, but it sounds great

  • Awesome voices!

  • yay the Alto! you are marvellous!

  • That would be Miss Brie Capone if you are interested she has a myspace with a lot of her own music on it.

  • wow cool!i sang that when i was in grade four and i am soprano.but that voice is so good!

  • yall have amazing voices!!

  • wonderful!!! you deserved it!

  • You all deserve this score!

  • you ladies sound TERRIFIC!!!

  • Very beautiful really, thanks

  • Beautiful job, girls! I'm a choir teacher and I love that you're so talented and engaged. Brava!

  • I found this very funny. at first, viewing the toilet stalls in the background. LOL! But I realized that this trio used it to their advantage! Instant stereo! Great blend in female voices! Nicely done!!!!

  • awesome!!!!sounds GREAT!

  • That was beautiful. The Contralto's voice was sublime - such a distinct and powerful sound. All three fitted together perfectly! Good luck in the future.

  • Awesome! And right on key too!

  • love alot! but for next time, alto, put your arm down. if you all have the same body stance, it looks better. and put a nice "T" on the word lift. other than those two small things: the tone of voice you girls have is wonderful! great work! the sop 1 is a joy to watch. she looks so joyful

  • gorgeous harmonies ladies :)

  • i feel yah alto, i sang this 3 nights ago for a show and its mad pretty

and dont you just love the echo from the bathroom? i do it all the time lmao

    good job! sounds great

    elijah = sex +D

  • I wonder what people outside the bathroom were thinking lol

  • 2nd soprano was singing wrong rhythm for the last lift thine eyes line

  • You all are awesome... seriously. I just sang this piece for my end of the year school concert and it was the most difficult piece I had to do this year. My voice kept getting tired by the time I got to the middle but you all did an amazing job. Congratulations on your perfect score!

  • Wonderful job, you guys!

    Are you in high school?

All of you, but especially Brie the alto: PLEASE TAKE VOICE LESSONS IN COLLEGE! you have such wonderful potential beyond what talent you already have! I hope you see that as a compliment that it is, it would be a shame to not train such wonderful voices, and the alto has such a distinct sound, i bet she will grow into a wonderful mezzo one day!

    Manon, 2nd soprano, beautiful tone!!!

And Jonna, 1st soprano, wonderful job! keep up the singing!

  • wow you all sound amazing, but that alto really strikes me as amazing.

  • why do people actually give advice on youtube videos?

  • This was really wonderfully done! Thank you!

Funny story: I'm a mail w/ a really good falsetto. I remember being in The All-City Chorus and trying sing with the Altos. I love that line. You girls sound angelic; just what Mendelssohn wanted.

  • BTW, I'm a male w/ a really good falsetto, not a mail, like a piece you put a stamp on and send to Michigan. LOL

  • the ending was flat, but otherwise, it was really wonderful! :)

  • nice rendition, but you should work on your breathing so that there will be no break,, even if you are only 3..

  • Oh my goodness! this is absolutely beautiful!

We are performing this piece later this week!!

  • wow this is amazing. my choir is singing this for states and i listen to this video to perfect my soprano 2 part :)

  • u guys are awesome. i love all of u!!

  • we sang this for solo and ensemble also... hahah

  • Are you in a bathroom?

  • Yes, they are.

  • A lot of people rehearse in bathroom for acoustic purposes because there's less sound absorption (Which is why people sound better in the shower.) I know that when we were getting ready for our show, the girl I had a duet with and I went in to the bathroom for that purpose. it's easier to hear with that amount of resonance.

  • The Alto is so great!

  • that was great:] i sang that in chorus this year as a second soprano. It's gorgeous.

Our chorus has those dresses too. haha

  • I like you smile when you sing :) beautiful

  • you guys sound beautiful <333

  • This is absolutely breathtaking.

Every one of you has such a beautiful voice and such incredible control.

    Thank you for sharing!

  • You ladies are marvelous!!!! Each of your voices are distinctive yet complementing to each other. I hope you get to perform this for many.

  • the second soprano is amazing.

  • i would just work on your breathing, but otherwise its really great!

  • great job! I'm singing this for solo ensemble this saturday!!

  • This is amazing! I have to sing that tonight at a concert!

  • Ladies, this is Amazing!!! I hope the place were you are perform this had acoustics as this place did. It just sounds AMAZING!!!! At one point I can't tell who's singing what: This is a good thing!!

    Well done!!1

  • This would have been a lot better if you all would have opened your mouths wider. The blend would have been a lot better and the words would have neen easier to understand.

  • wow you guys are awesome!

im doing this for solo and ensemble contest this weekend and it really helped me out hearing you guys together :D

it sounded amazing i loved it :)

    thankss

    :)

  • The only that bothered me was the quite audible breathing. I know it's a tough song (having sung it myself), but if the breathing was a touch quieter, it would be almost perfect!

  • Great job! You all have lovely, mature sounding voices!

  • Great. Great. Great. Thank you so much for this beautifull song. I'm singing this song in germany, an i love you for your great voices. Better i have the song never heard. God bless you.

And sorry, for my bad english.

  • great tone especially second sop

  • =)))

  • Two of my friends and I are doing this song for Solo Ensamble.

It's a great help to hear you guys sing it.

You are great by the way!!! =-)

  • Thank you SO much! I'm doing this for All-State and I was having a difficult timw, all I needed was to hear it all together :)

  • Excellent. Your Bel Canto style is very good, and while I prefer a more English sound (straight tone) especially on this piece, I think you have done it justice. Your contralto makes me happy.

  • Agreed...this was fabulous...could have used a little less vibrato (particularly by sop 1) but overall it was great. Love the bathroom acoustics.

    The alto was marvelous!!!!

  • THAT WAS THE BOMB TO ME!!!!!

    TAlto,...Girl I love your voice!!!

Sop 2, that is my voice part,..yay!

Sop 1, good on high notes..too much vibrato for my taste but very good job!!!

    I LOVE ELIJAH!!!!

  • soprano - don't pull your jaw back on the high notes - drop your draw!!

  • OMG! In a Bathroom! My high school women's choir has done that b4. But you three! Ina Bathroom! I LOVE IT! You are amazing!

  • You guys give me the chills you're amazing.

My womens choir is doing it also

  • i've never heard that in english...

    but sounds good.

  • woot! second soprano ftw!

    :3

  • to anyone asking why they would practice in the bathroom, its a great idea. the acoustics in a bathroom help you to focus on timing and intonation, as the sound bounces around in there.

  • beautiful tone. my choir is singing the entire oratorio with professional soloists and orchestra in two weeks time and this movement is my favourite =D too bad i'm a bass and dont get to sing it...

  • this is wonderful.

i sang this song last year.

I was the first soprano part.

  • this is phenomenal!

    that alto is so amazing!!!!!

she makes me proud of being one(:

  • i had to sing this with my school and at the part "thy keeper will never slumber" the 1st sopranoh sings much lower than she's supposed to?

    amazing voices all of them!

  • Wow, my chorus is singing this for the "Fall Concert." We have an all woman's choir, and it's really cool to see such awesome singers do a song that we're going to do! Great job ladies! My conductor put me as a soprano 2 for this song, wish me luck! :D

  • a little top heavy but amaazing none the less...awesome job =)

  • very nice!

i love the idea rehersaling in the bathroom!

  • So pretty. I like your dresses.

  • :o) super!!!

die akustik einer toilette sollte man öfter nutzen.

  • Congratulations girls!! I don't know anything about singing but to me it's really beautiful =]

  • Wow! Fantastic job on this, ladies!

  • awesome! and esp for singing in the toilet =P

  • you were great! I hope you won. What a lovely sound you all have

  • Ugh...who sings in the bathroom? Jk...i know..the accoustics...my friend and i do the same thing. Great job!

  • you three are amazing!!!! i like one person on each part rather than an entire choir butchering the song (especially since some sopranos really arent sopranos)

  • Die Qualität des Videos ist gut. Die Örtlichkeit dürfte allerdings kein Konzertsaal, sondern eher der Toilettenbereich eines öffentlichen Hauses sein.

  • Wunderschöner Gesang! - Lupenrein! Sehr feinfühlig! Großartig! Tempo genau richtig!

Vielleicht noch ein wenig mehr Dynamik!
