nazareth is so cool a band to me they are just like sweet good but very underrated and don't get the attention that they so rightfully deserve plus the kick major butt.
its crazy how things changed, back then that long hair with that shirt and pants was good shit now if u walk down the street like that yr pretty much 90% bound to get harrazed or get ur ass kicked lol . . .lets bring the hair back that way in class i can sit behind the dude with this type of hair and fall asleep in class without the teacher noticing haha
Nazareth is one band that doesn't pretend to fit in to any category of heavy metal or glam rock during their time. They are just a good old rock n roll band with fantastic songs for their audience during that time. Really good band. Almost every one of their songs can get the audience up and rocking. Fantastic grooves.
I started lisening to Nazareth in 1985 and quickly they becam my favorite band. In 2000 I started emailing Manny he is a real cool man. I was in Iraq in 2005/06 I sent him a flag from the base we where at.
were they called Salvation? before Nazareth? or was that Dream Police who later became Average White Band - along with BCRollers played in Cragburn Gourock regular.
I am a 45 years old and I have seen so many great bands perform live.Queen,AC/DC,Deep Purple, Iron Maiden,Mettalica,Black Sabbath and i can go on and on.My favorit band live is by far Nazareth. They toured with Zal Cleminson in 78 and totally blew every other band off stage.Seen them in later years as well and they still impress with a show packed with great songs played with the same potency to this day.(saw them in june 2011)
@steffenrocks1 I, too, have seen many bands in concert over the years and saw Nazareth in concert in 78 with Zal Cleminson. I agree with you, of all the bands I saw in concert, Nazareth was one of, if not, the best live shows I've seen.
@Potatious who cares about your age?? stop showing off like : "I m young and i listen to rock n roll that some people do not know" That is pathetic. Listen to the song, be proud of yourself if you want but do not show off, cause you do not act as someone who would have understood what rock n roll means>
@80phie Oooh I get it, your french, so you think you can just keep smoking up all the worlds weed, eating shelled slime, supporting your own interests instead of the U.S.'s and still have ball room left enough to tell a little six year old boy off like that.
I was a teenager in the seventy's liking soul and funk, until i heard you boys. and loved you ever since. good to hear ur still touring. when are you in london !!!
We all still live in Scotland-we are on a constant World Tour(since 1974)Dan's voice is the same-the band are still "cookin' "-come see us one and all,if you like hard rock you wont leave disappointed!
This guys has the pipes from hell!!! He must gargle razor blades and smoke 700 cigs a day! I was brought up on these hard hitting Glaswegian rockers and by God so will my kids!
I thought McCaffery's voice would have given out in about 1976 but he's still belting them out today at just slightly reduced power...a freak of nature!
@alexsdjtube ''Kids of today'' is kind of a big generalisation... I'm 16, been listening to this since I was a child! Sure a lot of people my age listen to jonas brothers and miley cirus and stuff, and others like me listen to nazareth bob seger and rush! So stop complaining, this music is not even close to dying just yet.
@MrTelectu; But we are all gonna die and if we don't introduce it to our kids, my 10 & 12 year old then the music dies too. If I see a kid wearing a Nasareth shirt ,then I know the father raised that kid right...and chances are if he's down with Nasareth then he is NOT listening to todays shit!!
Madness When I was a kid I had a Nazareth record in my record collection, I think it was Razamanaz. Today 35 years later I am realizing I was holding a thunder and lightning in my hands. The bend who survived the test of time. The forgotten giant, a dinamo of tremendous energy that can wake up a dead man and jump start his heart again. Dan Mc Cafferty maybe one of the greatest hard rock singers ever. How did this band end up forgotten as they are today. Most kids don't even know who they are.
I saw them in the Beamont City Auditorium (Beaumont, Tx.) in the late 70's and it is the best concert I have ever been to. Nazereth put some serious emotion and heart in their songs.
I am so glad we have Rap and Hip-Hop now instead of this rubbish. Also, as explained on the 'X-Factor' they don't have the look and total package required to achieve popularity among today's discerning music fans. Also, before anybody blows a gasket, the above is pure sarcasm. It breaks my heart to hear what passes for music now, and so much of it is 'throw-away' noise. One of first 7" singles I bought was Bad Bad Boy, and it rocks just as much today as it did over 35+ years ago. Go Naz!
@Mr6292 Like the sarchasm, saw them live last November dans got short hair now but the voice still splits the eardrums if you get chance see them live McCafferty is a blast! Keep rockin!!!
"When that woman looked up to me and I said Honey we'll be.... Together till the day I die.......BUT I LIED!!! Those lyrics speak the truth. How many of us dogs out there said the exact same thing at least once if not a doz times as she looked up at you? I will answer that one that is an easy question. ALL OF US!!! Especially in the early years (16-25).
@hermygagala Good luck bro. The problem with this world we live in there is no venue for classic rocker to sell their new music. Two reasons, nobody wants to hear any new stuff just the hits from the past 40 yrs. also there are no or very little radio stations that cater to Classic rock artists. Even the classic rock stations rarely play any new music from Classic artits. Case in point 2006 Bob Seger released a new album. I think it is one of his best since 1977-79. Never got air time on Radio.
Shit, people catcha ole tune for a good reason, people who check it and dis are fucked somehow..nobody looks at shit they hate. Enjoy ur tunes and all the rest, bite it
@MsPsycho29 thats talent as he can produce more power using highs and lows in his voice, listen to a singer on youtube , type downlode and scroll to sweet child of mine, he uses two octaves at 3:05, 3:21, and 5:01, it transforms into power, especially live, this talent is rare as it seems to be a different person singing along but its only one singer using falsetto and chest together

ABSOLUTELY fucking amazing. Never will there be a band as good as Nazareth ever. I mean this is live and it sounds the exact same as the studio version. Nazareth is, was and always will be the best band to walk the face of the Earth!!!
@Aljax21 I partied with them 2 nights in a roll, about 6 years ago. I was talking too the drum tech. So anyways we got on about his voice sounding like Brian Johnson. He said he was offered the gig. After bon scott.!! But he truned it down.
Not sure if he was feeding shit or not but. i wasn't going to call him a liar. lol had a awesome time drinking with these guys.
@Aljax21 thats a good shout, always thought he would have taken over bon scotts untimely demise as the new ac dc frontman,,.. he would have been great, but would never have been bons equal in my eyes,
I agree , fuckin epic, cream my jeans epic !! these guys are all hot and some more . . . steal my love, rip me off , i dont care, just rock like that !!!
@TeoGibson Epic is right! Nazareth was huge in Canada and still play here regularly. I was a big fan for a couple years before I saw them in 74 with Rush as opening act.
iv just had a gander at young justin biebel ,he just needs sitting down with some goodold rock n roll, and a little time, and he will be ok .hates too strong a word to use.send him some naz to put him on the right path .
@steve t dent....i too grew up on nazareth and bands like them. you are exactly right. they did not know what posing was. that's one of the things that makes 70's hard rock so freaking great. there will never really be anything quite like it again. cheers.

@Aljax21 if brian was still in geordie and didnt sound like shit nowadays
doomvitus88 8 months ago
@Aljax21 thats a good shout, always thought he would have taken over bon scotts untimely demise as the new ac dc frontman,,.. he would have been great, but would never have been bons equal in my eyes,

@TeoGibson Epic is right! Nazareth was huge in Canada and still play here regularly. I was a big fan for a couple years before I saw them in 74 with Rush as opening act.

@steve t dent....i too grew up on nazareth and bands like them. you are exactly right. they did not know what posing was. that's one of the things that makes 70's hard rock so freaking great. there will never really be anything quite like it again. cheers.
