Toon Link should have used more projectiles instead of running in and getting owned constantly. ROB would get him almost every time he took to the air or tried to get in close. ROB never air dodged so he would have been easy to hit with projectiles.

This match was okay...... I'm a noob at Brawl but I've watched enough matches to notice that Toon Link did not use his projectiles enough. I main as TL and I try to balance between melee and projectiles. Besides that, good match!

Yeah i main as TL too but i often forget to use projectiles too (Apart from the almighty bomb) but I should use them more as i have a great finisher, use Dair and if the second, less strong hit connects, then it knocks the opponent just far enough up for an Uair, KOing them before they recover.

Some places did a tourney the day the game came out, so total use of charactors would be unlikely. Unless this was the wizard and the game was mario bros 3 and you somehow knew all the secrets

Its common sense though with ROB to charge up the gyro after your opponent has been KO'ed instead of taunting. Also I didn't see the ROB air dodge.

ok match u guys

i play as toon link so i can tell u that u need to more frequently use b attacks. if u want to put some damage on ur opponent quickly, first wait till theyre on the ground, then take out a bomb. use your boomerang on them so it goes forward. immideatly afterward, jump up and throw the bomb at them. while falling to the ground charge an arrow and shoot it once u reach the ground. if u do this within 4 seconds or less, on most average players ur guaranteed 20 or more damage.

Toon Link's speed isn't the hard thing to cope with, in fact he's quite easy to handle, it's his lack of needing to switch strategies in order to knock out your opponent since his best combos aren't really knock outs, another thing is that if your not skilled with him, it's hard to Spike/Meteor your opponent with his obvious D-Attack, especially against Link, Samus and Zero Suit, with their Ledge grab recovers.

That is actually not how competitive smash is done. It looks like they are simply missing because 1.) They are not used to the people. 2.) They simply suck.

Either way in a tournament so many misses leave you open to behing hit, do to "lag" time of the moves.

Actually if you hit with the hilt of his Dair it turned out to be a meteor that also had a fire effect. Also if you hit with the correct spot with his Dtilt it was also a meteor. Now if you are splitting hairs between spikes and meteors then you are correct, otherwise you are wrong. But to the original post: those weren't even the good things he had going for him.
