i think paralypic riders are better than the 'proper' riders. the horses have a more relaxed outline instead of being all crunched up and with hyperflexion, some can complete a test without stirrups and all round it just looks prettier i think :-)
you all are so strong, it takes great persistance and a complete patience and understanding, most regular riders cant master this let alone being disabled.
WOW thats one of the many descriptive words i can sayu for this vid and there are some goregeous horses and some of the riders have a gr8 sense of humore lol
My favourites were Pearson, Brenner and Laurens.. Brenner was FANTASTIC. I would have never known it was a Para-Equestrian event! I seriously thought it was the main dressage event!
So many of those on this video have wonderful seats, they sure could give others a run for their money, such terrific horses! Absolutely fantastic riding!
many of these riders dont seem disabled at all. But they are doing a great job! I have seen pictures/videos of people without legs riding and it is amazing to watch. and I once saw a totally blind woman with two stallions! and she could ride them so well. counting the steps made her know when to turn.
It's incredible, if you put an able-bodied rider on one of these horses, the horse wouldn't know what to do, it actually wouldn't understand what ur asking of it
They'd give some 'able' riders a good run for their money. Actually I know of a lot of 'experienced' riders and horses that aren't even close to this level! Well done :)
I take my hat off to these men and women. Its hard enough to do dressage when your a healthy person let alone with a disability. Congratulations to all who went and competed, you are all winners in my eyes.
Thanks for this - I didn't manage to see any freestyle - the BBCnever seemed to show more than a couple of mins of equestrian. Hoping to see team GBR showing off their medals at the Nationals on Sunday
hey thank you for posting!!! do you have any footage of the grade 2 para freestyle, my good friend eilish byrne for ireland was competing and i didnt manage to see her??
Amazing! They are SO dedicated, kudos to them!

@breyer4life Yes, they do/can. :)
(Personally, I believe cantering is slightly easier without stirrups, it gives you a deeper stance in the saddle if that makes sense...)

Wow everytime I see a disabled rider my heart melts. Those who are dedicated will NEVER stop and it just makes you want to continue despite the bad.
