I love the kind of background sound in this track that you can also find in Pure Jam on Technodelic, always wondered how they made that sound. The rhythm on this track is awesome too, though the one in Bamboo Houses is even better!
Does anyone know how or where I can download this version of this song? The only thing I can find is the sylvian remix, which sounds nothing like it .
Pretty cool stuff. It's a continuation of Tin Drum, yet in some ways it's even better than Tin Drum IMHO. I wish they had mined this territory for more gold such as this.
Definately..similar to the Visions of China video which I think is the best video they did..Japan broke up just as the video age was dawning..in many ways Duran Duran cashed in on the Japan image and successfully pioneered video in this era..inventive pop music at its best.
thanks for the videos.. keep it up

Wow this song is great! I remember when my dad told me about when he bought the import of this record in 1982

I remember stealing that single in the early eighties -and I m not proud of that! -But it was an expensive import record and I could not afford it.
The main reason was that I was such a big fan of
Japan and David Sylvian at that time! Plus both sides are absolutely stunning. "Bamboo music" and "Bamboo houses" are great songs.

I used to decorate my room when I was fourteen with Sylvian posters and the album cover for this 12". Sylvian is such quality.

in this video he has a woman with lipstick singing his music,or moving the lips pretending to sing, so sexy, makes me want to kiss those lips.

Those would be David's lips you're wanting to kiss...

Love this song. The melodics and instrumentation combine to make Bamboo so intoxicating. This video really captures 80's fashion essence.
