  • Hello there,sir !

Thank you for sharing!I must say,I've several repeated the video, and after like 5 tries I calmed down, and could watch the 'biting' scene w/o having to jump.

I would like to ask a little question : Does their "bite" hurt badly ?

I'm looking forward on having a pet tarantula such as gramostaola aureostriata/rosea in the near future(heard they don't bite),but if it does,I'm afraid i'll react badly and accidentally drop her :( they're fragile ... -scared-

    Thank you for your time

  • @RouRa9 Never been bitten. G. rosea or G. pulchripes (formerly aureostriata) are great choices but I would prefer the pulchripes for a more predictably docile disposition.

  • what was the noise you made at 0:19 ?

  • Gorgeous T, a little aggressive though lol, maybe it was just pissed that there was a huge card thingy in her personal space :P

  • @Hobbzie02 Yes, I'm sure you are right. Today, she is a huge and docile specimen. A real prize!

  • nice little tarantula

  • Your A. Geniculata is pretty mellow. Mine's first reaction is to attack, since it thinks everything is food. Only way I can move or mess with it is if it's got food in its fangs.

  • what a terrible pet

  • My adult female acts like this. She's insane! lol

  • hahah i jumped

  • Locate where in the substrate she is then dig around her gently and she will surface. Use a paint brush to get her to move and be prepared for her to quicky turn on the brush. It's more scary looking than an actual threat. Mine is also a female, is much larger now and far less aggressive.

  • Holy shit I have the same specimen. A female. My question, It made a burrow, is there someway to get it out without damaging myself and the tarantula? I just have difficulties cleaning it has it NEVER wants to come out.

  • I have done that alot to my spider, well like moving it around and all, trying to get her on my hand very gently, but she doesnt stand up or anything, she just moves the other direction. did you really poke hard or is she an agressive species? I have something rose hair, they are really sweet and not that agressive.

  • This species can be a little defensive. Never poke hard...just a gentle tap. Actually now that she is adult she is pretty nice. A little skittish maybe. She's awesome.

  • check ut my video its called fang ritual

    plz subscribe

  • Woa! I heard that one! I'd hate to think what it would have been like if that was someone's fingers instead of a ruler!

  • that actually scared me and i knew it was coming lol

  • ht it with a hammer to see how hard will it bite than!

  • i have had one of thos in my hand as long as you don't piss it off like you did i won't bite

ps if it trys to get away don't thouch it

  • haha i love how it still will scare the shit out of you even though u know its bitting a ruler and not near your hand

  • wow it is beautiful....unfortunatly i dont like spiders :D

  • haha da noise u made at da end, i bet u felt sum force on da ruler wen d T sttuck, and da hairs stood on ur back, or else it was a simple shock

  • very nice T shes beautiful whats her name or his name?

  • Her name is Pyscho, though she has really calmed down now that she's a little older. Still fiesty, but i have held her once...maybe I should change her name. ANy suggestions?

  • i'd name her goat

  • Call her

    Fang lol its good

  • did it puncture the ruler?

  • Didn't look like a bite. More like a leg hit.

  • T bites would hurt...but I have never been bitten. Be very cautious handling but if you can handle her with gloves I am sure you would be safe handling her without them. Be calm and you would get bit.

  • u r a nerd. get a life.

By the way, this t is quite calm now that she's a little older. beautiful specimen too.

    but u r still a nerd.

    Bye Nerd.

  • i just got my baby pink hair turantula, she has tons of room to jump around. do turantula bies hurt? i looked at its fangs when i held it with gloves and my jaw droped. im scared to handle it because it stands weird, its 2 legs are in the air when i put crickets aka lunch into the tank shes a very pretty/calm spider but when i put crickets in the tank she gets very pissed off. i handled her once without gloves and was fine im just worried im stressing her out maybe crickets are to big for her =/

  • ahahah its funnt when u do it over and over agian

  • lol

  • I jumped also..

  • What substrate is that?

Either way, pot soil + vermiculite or coconut bark(eco earth) seem to be best for Ts.

    Pretty btw.

  • The difference is the ones that are for sale.

    ??? Did you have a 7 T death in 12 days?

  • does it hurt when it bites

!??! i'm getting one tommarow so i'm worried..

  • Never been bitten. I own 13 T's and many are very gentle to handle, it just depends what kind of T you get. Always be careful and respect them and you'll be fine.

  • I got my spider and shes great its a rose hair . and she hasn't bit me yet ! yay =P

  • I'm sure she won't bite. Enjoy.

  • Well not "sure" she wont bite but a rosie is extremely unlikely to bite. Hell you could probably say 1 in maybe 100,000 would bite if given a reason. Rosies are in my opinion the absolute best beginner T and are extremly well mannered beauties. Just wash your hands after handling most people forget those aren't actually hairs and can really fuck your eyes up and or your mouth nose respitory track.

  • c.rosies are quite unpredictable, but i have hezitated to handle mine scince transfering it to its housing, it was great to handle. but after seeing its fangs and its temperment being skittish im a little worried, but i will brave it one day and just do it, its not aggressive in any way, it will raise its legs slightly but no where near a threat posture. im testing its behaviour before i let it loose with quater inch stabbers lol

  • yeah i got mine yesterday rosea and shes so docile its unreal i was stroking her todayshe didnt mind at all if she had wanted to she could have had me shes awesome think she maybe going to molt soon too fingers grossed (Y) :)

  • i jumped....lol

  • Touching her back legs is hardly "stressing" her out. All my 20 T's are well cared for and healthy. Relax and enjoy.

  • i lol'd at the mini-scream when he bit.

  • Great video Spiderman!! from KIM

  • Thanks K.

  • thats quite cute ^_^

  • i'm not tryin to tell you what to do or anything but you shouldn't use anything hard for that, it could damage its fangs.

  • Yes I know. I wasn't anticipating a bite I was just trying to get her to walk a bit. Thanks. I own many T's and do care for their well being.

  • Did is fang snap off? It looks like it did.

  • No. If you drag the video slowly you can see it more clearly.

  • Young A. Geniculata showing aggression to a poo...? :)

  • My Acanthoscurria brocklehursti does that same thing. Its more of a food response than aggression, nice T.

  • It's fangs hit the plastic ruler...yes. No part of the plastic chipped though, if thats what you are asking.

  • did it snap the plastic?

  • wow, thats scary, I did know turantullas would bite
