The Mayans predicted when the first white man came to America, and on that same day they predicted they were right. If the Mayans made such accurate predictions in the past, what makes you think they aren't right about this one? The Mayans predict the "gods" will return on 21st of Dec. 2012. In Sanskrit Mayan means ILLUSION. Meaning no more lies... 2012 will also be the start of the fall of Christianity.

Yeah Bernard, We are looking at another M8 or M9 in Japan but this time for Tokyo. Since it is the edge of the Pacific plate slipping under the islands of Japan I reckon West Coast US is over due for a whopper.

On community, specifically gardens, vegie patches, etc...... In NZ they are trying to pass a Bill in Parliament at the moment to stop people doing just that. Stopping them having their own gardens, growing their own foods. The Bill is based on Codex Alimentarius and of course they are trying to do it quietly. So doesn't set New Zealanders off on a good path toward 2013 does it.
