  • Our registers will only accept a certain amount of coupons, sometimes it will say we didn't sell that item even if we did, so we have to enter it manually. I love CVS and so happy to get a job working there

  • Based on how I said that...it does seem like it. I assume you were talking about the deodorant and I must have meant that the limit was two and I was going to buy one and then use those extra care bucks then next time. My apologies....I will again reiterate the importance of following their store policy since I do completely adhere to it. Never even realized that was in the video since it was so long ago and I did this before I even knew how to edit a video.

  • I work for CVS, just to throw a couple tips out there to the people who don't try to abuse our system(Thank you.)

Buy a green bag tag and a reusable bag. They cost a buck at first purchase and every time you don't use a plastic bag we scan it. Every 4 scans you get a free extra buck for your next purchase. They pay for themselves and add a little to your over all savings.

Plus it's good for the environment.

  • Grocery stores do the same thing...it's called good marketing since I do end up buying other things once I get in there.

I do know that some abuse the system and in no way shape or form do I advocate that. I have one card for my family and there for get the few things they offer. The do not offer as many free items now as they did last year.

  • I just w

  • Getting to know the manager will not help. If you are taking advantage of the program they can and will cut you off! How many cards do you have? You are not "paid to shop there stores. Lady you are taking advantage of the program..

  • I want to assure you that I do not take advantage of the program. I only have one card, am a loyal CVS customer. Yes, we pay for the products first our of pocket, but if I shop their again, then it ends up being free with my CVS card. Using the phrase "paid to shop their store" was tongue and cheek at the amazing deals they offer every once in awhile. Partnering coupons and their CVS bucks is exactly what they advertise.

  • Thanks - you explain this very thoroughly and clearly!

  • I had not watched this video in well over a year. I misspoke once about the deodorant where I state the limit was one and I went back and got another one. Your CVS card will not let you get another one with bucks, so know that I meant limit of two. You can buy both at one time or buy one and use your bucks another visit. Also, please know your store policies about coupons. Some will take internet coupons, others will not. Some BOGO will ring up 1/2 price, others will not. Just ask them w/your ??

  • if your getting free stuff and you have a coupon be aware of those around you. if the line behind you now has 10 people then move and let someone else check out. dont go into the store acting like you know EVERYTHING. you dont work at cvs and the person behind the register does. also, whats on the internet is NOT always correct. its fun to get free stuff at cvs but it is not fun dealing with soneone who is and i hate to say it a (bitch).

  • Completely agree. It's a great service that CVS (and all the drugstores offer) and we don't want to take that for granted. Fortunately, I am in and out of the store pretty quickly but if I have alot of things I am purchasing, I always have others go ahead.

  • With buy 1 get 1 the register divides the sale price between the 2 item so each item has a price. This is why you can use 2 coupons. It has to do it that way because people would end up keeping the free item and returning the one they paid for.

  • hey i love your video =] and i was wondering if there is a way for you to like get then to send the flyers to your house or coupons n stuff like that

  • you can find them online on bloggers like I heart cvs.

  • this woman in the video seems genuinly amped. that's cool. happy ppl are cool.

  • i work at a cvs. customers aren't my enemies. i don't care what coupon-buck nonsense you are up to. saving money is cool. bad mood customers or ppl that don't 'get' the e.c. system kind of bug but oh well.

  • If you shop at a CVS where the cashiers are somewhat intelligent, you will not get coupons on all of your Buy One Get One Free products. You will only get coupons off the products you are really paying for.

  • yes, you are right...i do not even think they really offer that any more. Often things ring up at half off and then you can just use one coupon. I should have referenced that.

  • I'm so glad I found this video. yes, there are others here, but you explain this so well for people like me that just started buying from cvs. all info is good for me to know and get started on couponing. great help and info.

  • hello! I would like to comment on edub8475's response. Although It may have been a little harsh, I understand where they are coming from.I work at a CVS and Depending on the District manager the rules for extra buck redemption can vary slightly. Although Corporate does track redemption rate, Loss Prevention does not like to see a bunch of 1.00 transactions. Also, some people do not understand the limits and Rules of extra bucks. In my area we have a lot of people who abuse the program.

  • Oops - comment came up under another subscriber, not my own. Sorry about that.

  • You make my life harder. Just please don't bring your merchandise to the pharmacy, we're busy enough.

  • So sorry that you feel that way. I never bring things to the pharmacy and I hope others wouldn't either. Good thing I have a great relationship with our CVS. The managers love that people redeem their extra bucks - it's great for your store.

  • Thank you for not bringing merchandise back to us. =), sorry about being so harsh on my last comment. It's just that when people bring items back to us they do it when we're most busy and never stop to think that there are other people that really need their medication.

  • hmm...I doubt that edub watched the video since the manager of our CVS actually has HELPED me get things for free. Ask your boss - your CVS is incentived by us cashing in our CVS bucks by the manufacturer. It helps your stores ratings, and it helps the customer by getting things for free.

I can tell that you love customer service by your comment. :)

  • omg our longs store is closeing because cvs is takeing over yaaaaa

  • i'm glad you put out this video.

i work at cvs, have been for four years. working there, i know how to work the system. if you do, then you defiantly end up ahead of the game.

  • I love this video. I know exactly what you are talking about. I have a bunch of videos trying to help people get free stuff from cvs too. I am a cvs addict. I have all the same stuff you have in your video. It's nice to see someone else who appreciates cvs like I do.
