TO really appreciate the beauty of the eclipse you had to see it at that time with your own eyes. Still, I did my best to capture the beauty on video.

that was not the full eclips the moon turns an odd shade of red at the peek. you should have kept filming a bit longer no ofence

yes, it was the full eclipse.

If you saw the information I included on the official start and stop time of the eclipse then you would see that I was recording right in the middle of the eclipse. The only reason you couldn't tell it was red is because my camcorder is not quite good enough.

I could see the red of the moon with my eyes as I was recording, but my camera didn't get it.

I have a Panasonic Pv-GS250 with a built in 3CCD chip.

It has the best video quality of all the MiniDv camcorders.

I set up a tripod outside my house and painstakingly attempted to center in on the moon.

hey where in LI.. i live in brentwood , LI and I saw this around 9 p.m.

I am in Islandia. If you saw it at 9pm then you started at the partial eclipse, and the full eclipse started at 10:01pm.

During the full eclipse there is a visible change in color of the moon to orange and often other colors. Since my camera is not top of the line it was not able to capture the striking colors, but they were there.
