@ixJELLOxi you need to re-evaluate your perception of music. i love coheed and the dear hunter but porcupine tree has to be one of the greatest musical acts of all time.they are right up there with pink floyd, yes,emerson lake, and palmer and the beatles in their acid days. only other band that comes close to them in the modern prog rock genre is the mars volta. im not saying you have to like porcupine tree more than the others but to say that they are god awful is just rediculous.

@ixJELLOxi I can't believe what I just read. Coheed is a great band and The Dear Hunter is one of my favorite bands but they don't even come close to Porcupine Tree! They are one of the greatest prog bands around now and probably of all time. They are not as straightforward as Coheed or The Dear Hunter so they might not be as easy to get into but they are absolutely amazing! Obviously Porcupine Tree doesn't appeal to the same crowd but you need to go and listen to some stuff and rethink things!

You may also like Between the Heart and the Synapse by The Receiving End of Sirens, his former band. He wasn't on the album after that (The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi). They did lots of vocal harmonies and such, but it's more of a post-hardcore sort of band than this.
