I know for a fact that Great Whites make it as far north as Exmouth (21st parallel south) in WA. That's about the same latitude as the southern-most tip of the Great Barrier Reef.
However, that's the Indian Ocean, and the sharks have been proven to originate from the South African colonies. And they come over for a reason - to mate.
Takes 'em about 3 weeks to go the distance.
Perhaps they come up to the Great Barrier Reef from the south coast of Victoria?
