...Burke & Hubert Gallant were Faces out here in the maritimes,& always drew main event cards at the Halifax Forum on Thursday Evenings,during the the summer many Harts(mainly Keith) & Billington would come here & work along side Hubert Gallant & the Cormier family!

I'm amazed that Stampede Wrestling wasn't associated with the NWA. The matches looked like they got out of control very often. The match between Brett Hart and the Dynamite Kid against Leo Burke and Hubert Gallant was an example of how wild, crazy and exciting Stampede Wrestling was during the 1980s.

@Lurvy1963 Actually I think they were. Stu joined the NWA in 1948 when the organization was first founded and hewas the oldest member of the board. Every year they got the champion, whoever it was. Bret challenged Harley for the belt in the late 70's on Stempede day when they had the Super Card. Of course he put Harley over. Look for Harley vs Klondike Bill from 1973. THat's a good example I can think of. It took place not long after Harley won his first world title.
