  • Always makes me laugh that the Northern Accent is considered working class and common sounding to Britons. It's very pleasant to American ears, and stone sexy from this man.

  • I can't watch him and not wanna do bad things.

  • I adore his bad guy characters. It might be weird, but but they make me giggle. I can watch them, and pretend that J is normal.

  • Unbelievably sexy.

  • So that's how the Doctor met Elizabeth I--no wonder she was in a rage when she saw him again in the Shakespheare Code!

  • he plays a bad guy in the new GI Joe movie he plays Destro

  • i could listen to eccleston talk all day long! XD

  • I could too! I love his northern accent. Beautiful voice.

  • The GREATEST DOCTOR WHO EVER!!!

    Tom Baker was great too.

  • His eyes look brown, is he wearing contacts?

  • No there blue he it's just the camera.

  • LOVE this actor! This movie started me on a quest for all things Christopher Eccleston! Jude is my favorite, with Elizabeth a close second. Even his smaller role in The Others was so powerful and memorable. And sexy, as well!

  • " noone in britain would offer me the part of a nobleman" ?! if he's typecast atall, its as edgy angry bad guys ie Norfolk fits perfectly. Dr who was the major cast against type

  • very cute

  • good to see 'someone' credit shekar kapoor.

hollywood has amnesia. mira nair is another indian director , maker of namesake, vanity fair who has hardly gotten any acknowledgement. dukes of hazzards also had an indian director but as usual the limelight never left the cast.

  • Christopher is such an amazing actor. He can play everything. He's so versatile.I loved him in ELIZABETH especially one of the last scenes, the confrontation between Walsingham(Geoffrey Rush) and Norfolk (himslef):

"N:then cut off my head.Made me a martyr.People will always remember me.

    W:No,they won't."A CLASSIC SCENE.

  • He's brilliant.

I must say the story isn't correct historically and it's due to Chris i know.

His portrayal of the Duke of Norfolk was so humanly, not at all like a one dimensional villain that i got interested in the man himself.

I wrote to thank him because it's entered me in such an interesting world and history.

And, it's what got me to be a fan of him and now i've seen some..7 movies of him i think.

He's brilliant in all of them!

  • amen to that :-)

  • @mensahcarrelle yes he is a brilliant actor, gi joe, doctor who, elizabeth, he is an amazzing actor

  • Brilliant actor, absolutely, in the words of Doctor Who, "Fantastic!"

  • He's certainly one of the few people who can get away with those puffy pantaloons >:)

  • agree, gorgeous eyes x

  • and hes a fucking double of my dad lol

  • He's fantastic! I love Christopher Eccleston in this as in everything else!

  • he was sooo brilliant as norfolk in this movie x

  • I sure like Chris, but he does have a chip the size of a brick on his shoulder about being a Northerner. I wonder why. Are casting directors really so narrow? I guess they must be.

  • They are! From April 3 2005 Times UK:

Michael Winterbottom, who directed him in the 1996 Thomas Hardy adaptation Jude, said: "I think there's a thing about Chris that he's from Manchester, he's a surly bugger and there's a real prejudice about the fact that he's a northerner."

  • I love Christopher! :)

  • You and me both :-D

  • Oh man somehow youtube's gotten blocked and i missed all messages for replies here..sheesh.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone in having fallen in love with this sexy man..even if the whole story on Norfolk and other things in Elizabeth is historical nonsence..this man and Geoffrey Rush, and ofcourse Kate make it worth watching!

He's so beautiful as the Duke.. *sigh* what a sexy man..

  • I agree with elmoolou: CE is a terrific actor, but somehow sounds flat in interviews. He's just not as voluble as some, I guess.

  • Well, I like the interviews I've seen with him.. I love that he talks about his character, the way he thinks about what he's saying and not just says something rubbish..

  • ...and you know, because...??

..just because he's more down-to-earth and private than many other actors doesn't mean that he's boring.. just my oppinion

  • fantastic!! he is just so down to earth when he speaks

  • Agree!! I love it too!! - it's very different from many other actors ...I could listen to his voice all day long!

  • Huuuuuuuuuge trousers

  • Isn't he? <sigh>

  • yup... he is

  • Wow...

  • Yummy...
